The food was great, everything from the appetizer to dessert was wonderful. After we got our dinner, our server did not attend to us and rarely checked in on us. We were there for 3 hours because the service was so slow after our dinner arrived. Overall, the food and ambiance was great, just terrible service that really killed the mood for me and my partner.

One of the best Italian meals we have had. Val, our waiiter, guided us through the menu and hit the highlights that made our evening!! We will DEFINITELY be back.

Everything was great!

Went before Astros game and expected it to be lively and noisy. Service was slow though as I don’t think they expected the crowd and maybe we’re not prepared. I will go back though! Best truffle pasta I dream of!!

Potente is never anything but absolutely outstanding and it's even better that they respect their customers enough to allow them to use their own judgment when it comes to wearing masks! I am so pleased that my favorite restaurant doesn't feel the need to dictate to their customers. So...now that I've given them props for their embrace of personal choice I have to say that the food as always was absolute perfection! We had four different starters, octopus, oysters, pork belly and rabbit (which was an off-menu special) and while they were all excellent the oysters were a special standout! For our main courses we had the Vitello, Costolette di Agnello, Ragu All'Anatra and the Spaghetti Al Tartufo Nero and they were all fantastic but the Spaghetti Al Tartufo Nero is in a class by itself! It was fantastic. Even though we've been to Potente several times it was the first time we'd ordered it as we actually don't care for truffles at all (I know, we're neanderthals) but as usual Chef Danny can take a food you think you don't like and make it absolutely delicious! An extra note, my youngest son has Down syndrome and they are always so accommodating to him, he likes his steak plain and served with french fries and at Potente they are always so gracious to make special requests! All in all it was an amazing dinner. To be honest I have literally never had anything at Potente that wasn't fantastic! We followed Chef Danny from Brennan's to Potente and are so glad we did! The service is impeccable, the food fantastic and the atmosphere sophisticated and beautiful. As always a perfect night out. Potente is our go-to restaurant for special occasions and that is even more true since they are so gracious on their mask policy!

Spaghetti Al Tartufo Nero is a absolute must! Love Potente ! Can’t wait to go back!

My husband and I celebrated our 9th anniversary at Potente and they made every minute so special. The hostess was very welcoming, our table location was perfect and our server, Nicolas, was spectacular. I have a few fruit allergies and he went above and beyond to ensure that none of the allergens were in any of our dishes. He served with a smile and a warmth that is so rare in the industry. His timing was perfect and he made us feel like VIPs. We shared a wonderful beet salad and actually had two orders of the pork belly appetizer because it was that delicious! We followed the salad and appetizers with the spaghetti al tartufo nero which includes tableside truffle shaving, and the salmone--both so very yummy. They have an impressive wine and whisky menu and Nicolas was very helpful with his recommendations. The menus are well lit for the more mature crowd, great convenience lol. They gave us a special dessert for our anniversary and the manager came by and personally thanked us for spending our special day at their establishment. We are so happy with our experience and will definitely return. Thank you Potente!

The service and flavors are amazing. It is expensive, but worth it. We recommend the faux gras, scallops with a very tasty corn risotto, the filet, and the after dinner drinks. We are in a delirious food coma now.

I came here for my birthday and truly loved the ambiance or the restaurant. Our server, Patrick, was just amazing! He took care of every little detail and really made my birthday dinner special. The truffle pasta was delicious as well as the Agnolotti di Granchio. I was also blown away by the presentation of the dessert- sphera dolce. Overall, I think the food was great, but the ambiance and service was above all. Definitely recommend!

Food is awesome

I had a reservation for 5 on the books for over a month. We were seated at a 4-top with 5 settings. Not comfortable for anyone, not enough room on the table for shared apps, etc. The guest of honor has already said that she will not return because of this.
Tried to order wine for our entree course, but it didn't come out until we were done with our entree, and the decanter had water it the bottom.
Our server was fantastic! Can't say enough nice stuff about Amy, but her support team was not good. They didn't clear plates, and as we were already at a table that was too small for us, we ended up just holding plates until someone would take them away. Water was refilled very promptly, but Amy was stretched too thin with terrible support to be able to show us the attention we would expect from a dining experience of this caliber.

Would have liked the food to come out quicker. The food and ambience is wonderful for a date night.

Potente is absolutely first class. Ambience, food, the team -- everything. Our server, Will was an absolute pro -- friendly, knowledgeable, and accommodating. Mr. Crane, the owner, came by our table and was very welcoming. Joel, the GM, gave my wife and I a tour of the restaurant -- he offered when he saw us check out the bar on our way out. Best touch of all -- it was raining when we left, I brought my car around, and the guys walked my wife to the car under an umbrella.

We'll definitely be back and will definitely recommend.

Oysters came out cold, twice. Girlfriends pasta was also lukewarm. Chicken was average, simply not impressed. Max the bartender was a saving grace here he was amazing.

Great customer service and great drinks from Max. The server left something to be desired. The food was very good.

Chef Danny Trace food is 1 of the best we had in Houston.

Potente remains an incredibly accomplished and sophisticated restaurant. The wine list in particular is outstanding, and service is the equal of any 5 rosette Michelin venue. Our meal was quite good, but not quite as stellar as on past visits. The lobster bisque was fantastic, but all of our mains were just good, not great. Desserts were also superb.
Perhaps the pandemic is affecting the supplies available, or wearing on the best of our chefs. I hope not. This is a restaurant that deserves to be as fantastic as it always has been.

A very pleasant evening, delicious and creative food along with wonderful wine!

Love the Reidel wine decanters... an added touch to the elegant atmosphere which makes dining here so very special. The service is always exemplary. My favorite dishes are the truffled spaghetti and Foix Gras. Although it’s pricey we always feel like it is worth it. The perfect place to celebrate a special occasion and have a wonderful bottle of wine!

The dinner was a make up for Valentines. The waiter promised us the experience would be special. He did as promised. The build up to the entree was awesome. My wife enjoyed the filet and I loved the NY strip. Everything was prepared to perfection. The staff was friendly and attentive. A must for all.
