So very NY and Paris supper club, warmly greeted at the bar by the owner. Very nice wine and food selection including vegetarian options and loving the focus on a variety of mushrooms. Warm bread and simple salad with every meal is a perfect start and crème brûlée or the pot au chocolate the perfect end. The soups and crepes were very good. Service flowed well, but the server appeared aggrieved.

How could I have grown up in providence and not known about this fantastic restaurant? I’ve been (and eaten) all over the world, and then found my favorite new restaurant back in the town I grew up in. Charming, wine cellar like setting. Warm and engaging service. Excellent, curated menu. Delicious, authentic French bistro cuisine. Everything done right. Bravo!

Loved the atmosphere, service and the owner coming to the table. We had boeuf bourguignon, bouillabaisse, and the steak frite. Unfortunately the bouillabaisse was a miss for me. The other meals were excellent. The onion soup was delicious! Would definitely go back and try something else.

Just wonderful food and service. Neat little downstairs space with tables separated by beautiful old wood boards and window pains. Our server, who’s name I can’t remember but started with an A, was delightful and attentive without being overbearing. We are visiting Providence or I would make this place a mainstay if my dinning out.

Outstanding dining experience! Ambiance was cozy and intimate. Extraordinary culinary experience! We just returned from Paris a few months ago and we prefer the Pot Au Feu experience over any restaurant that we dined at in Paris. The service provided by Michael our waiter was impeccable! His wine recommendation was perfect especially in light of the fact that my husband had beef and I had seafood. We also had a visit from Bob the owner (he visited each table during the course of the evening), which was a very personal touch. Cannot praise this restaurant enough!

My wife had the crêpe special and I had the boeuf bourguignon and both were delicious, as were the desserts we enjoyed afterwards. Our waiter was attentive and efficient.

This is the absolute best dining experience in Providence. Everything is absolutely exceptional. They have the best bartender, Casey. He makes the most delicious tasting, well balanced cocktails I've ever had! The food is always on point also. Bob and his team are so warm and inviting. This is a must try!

Last night my girlfriend and I ate at Pot Au Feu for the first time. We had the unexpected pleasure of sitting at chef’s table, and were able to watch Chef Mikulski doing God’s work. The creations that came out of his kitchen were devine. We enjoyed multiple courses which included terrine de campagne, an amuse-bouché of watermelon gaspacho, soupe aux champignons sauvage, salade de légumes frais, bouillabaisse, and cassoulet, then shared the most delicate and delicious crème brûlée I’ve ever eaten, and crepes Suzette. Each dish was expertly prepared, and exceeded our expectations. To add to one of the most delicious meals I’ve eaten in a long while, our server Tiggi and Chef Mikulski were wonderful, providing both excellent service, and accompanying anecdotes to fulfill the experience.

We have a great experience last night for dinner, French martini was absolutely perfect, and my compliments to the owner Bob, for the suggestion of the Pinot noir matched perfectly with our meals. Our overall experience was perfect… I highly recommend dining here and you must try their Dijon salad dressing on your salad. I chose the fillet for my entrée. Everything was spot on.

Eighteen years ago, we tried Pot au Feu on Julia Child's recommendation (long story). If it was good enough for Julia, it would certainly be good enough for us. And, it was and still is. So charming. So delicious. Such a gracious host and wonderful service. For a celebration. Or, for a wintery night, Pot au Feu is our goto when it has to be right.

A restaurant that meets and exceeds expectations. Pate and mushroom soup are excellent and the pot au feu with lobster and a tarragon broth is delicious. Each seafood element stands on it’s own in taste and texture due to skilled preparation. The shrimp and scallop entree was well prepared and properly cooked. The creme brulee was excellent without any sugary taste, smooth and velvety with vanilla notes. I do not know where you could get a better mushroom soup with a variety of mushrooms and an excellent broth that does not overpower these woodland gems. Arrive at 5 and you will probably have a chance to converse with BOB BURKE the owner. It’s a treat to hear his philosophy of cuisine. GO AND ENJOY!

Overall I was very satisfied, disappointed with the 5G martini, could not discern any ginger or vodka ….the mushroom soup was very good. The mushroom Pate needed seasoning , our friends were pleased with the Steak Frites. My husband had the steak crepes, he claimed the steak was overcooked, but the sauce was good. We all liked the the potatoes, and enjoyed the Cream Brûlée..We all would come back and would recommend

It was a delicious meal from start to finish. Staff was attentive and helpful without being obtrusive. My steak was perfectly cooked and I enjoyed every bite. We all enjoy our meals and desserts. I will definitely be back and highly recommend this grand dame of the Providence food scene.

Our experience was wonderful. The service was outstanding. The food was very good. The pate & onion soup apps were great. Duck entree considered the best. Seafood was good, classics good. I wish my steak tournedos were bigger and baked potato larger for the price. The wine and cocktails were fabulous. This place and the infamous Bob Burke are a gracious host.

The food was fabulous. My husband had the cassoulet and I had the seafood Pot au Feu. For dessert he had the lemon mousse and i had the best Creme Brule I've ever had. Def a special occasion place but worth every penny.

As always food was sublime from the smoke blue fish pate to the mushroom soup lamb shanks and shared desserts as well as the wine. Hilary, our waitress, was outstanding and remembered us from our many previous visits. Bob Burke, the owner, was our genial host. Still our favorite restaurant anywhere.

Of all the great PVD restaurants, we knew there was no better place than Pot qu Feu for our anniversary dinner. The ambiance is intimate and full of historic architecture. Bob Burke is a longtime advocate of fine French cuisine (and a well known persona in the RI scene). Yet he’s not afraid to innovate and keep up with current culinary trends (vegetarian and vegan options). We thoroughly enjoyed our vegetarian meals and wild mushroom paté appetizer. The Cassoulet Printemps was incredibly savory…highly recommend it! We also indulged in the Pot au Chocolate and a lemon mousse…both outstanding!
