Posto 9 Ratings and Reviews
I think the kitchen was overwhelmed with the amount of patrons. There was a party upstairs and several large parties downstairs. The waitress tried her best to keep the kitchen in line, however, she seemed a tad bit annoyed that her food wasn't coming out as expected. The kitchen was out of Ribeye steak...a menu item. I would expect a special to be depleted, however, a menu staple??? Not so much. Three of our steaks were not cooked to order. One ordered medium rare and got well done, one ordered medium well and got medium and one ordered it medium and it came out well. The sides and entree's were not delivered together and some not at all until it was brought to the attention of our waitress. It took an inordinate amount of time to get our desserts and one didn't make it to the table until we asked about it and by then the desserts that had been delivered had already been consumed. My food, however, was excellent.
I’ve been to Posto several times, but I feel this time around I was a bit underwhelmed. The food was good but not great, especially if you take into consideration the price per plate. The restaurant wasn’t very busy that night yet I felt like the people next to us were sitting at our table rather than at their own, while all the tables around us were empty. Our food did take a while to be served but overall it was ok.
I was visiting from a large city with many creative restaurants and international cuisine. I've had Brazilian cuisine (real cuisine, not just steak house Brazilian) in the US and in Brazil; so I feel I have an understanding of Brazilian cuisine and what to expect. Posto 9 misses the mark on many levels. The description of Muqueca, a wonderful seafood stew from Bahia El Salvador, was so far off from authentic that I was not surprised when the server said : people like it or hate it. I ordered soup instead. What promised to be a light seafood broth, punctuated with coconut milk and ginger and a foil to lightly fried crab croquettes was disappointing. For an entree I ordered the Pichana steak, a Brazilian cut. 12 oz for $25. I inquired about the cut and even googled it to know what I was ordering. The steak was prepared perfectly, as ordered. The presentation was nice. It was a delicious cut of beef. The chimichurri sauce was flavorful. HOWEVER, the steak has a fat cap that accounts for 1/3 of the weight and is inedible. So it was $25 for 8oz edible. steak. My dining partner ordered a boneless chicken, which she said was delicious. She ordered a side of roasted cauliflower mash that was unappealing in appearance and taste. The chef really needs to stick to the authentic Brazilian dishes, which are wonderful. They're trying too hard with fusion. On positive note, they have an experienced mixologist behind the bar, but no craft cocktail list, not even a Caparinha! Hmm?
Would not go again!
We visited for our 25th Anniversary and the food was outstanding! We ate calamari, filet, sweet potato fries and garlic mashed potato and everything was so good. From the awesome hostess Karissa to the wait staff, we were very impressed. I love the art for sale on the walls and next time I hope to see some originals in there!
The food was well done and the service was attentive but not too much. The restaurant was clean and you could see into the kitchen, which is always nice. The dining area is nice and comfortable. It is not crowded so you don't feel like your sitting to close. The price is medium expensive but it does feel like an upscale dining experience.
This was our second visit to Posto 9 and we were not disappointed. The food is amazing. The salmon is particularly awesome the best I have ever had. Appetizers are delicious, too. Our waiter both before dinner and at dinner were friendly, efficient and helpful. This is a place we recommend to all of our friends. We look forward to going back when we have visitors in town and when the rooftop seating is open. Our new favorite spot in Lakeland.
We had the grilled Salmon it was cooked to perfection the sauce was a great cohesive addition with the perfect amount of greens !
For appetizer the roasted oysters 👍
Roasted pear and walnut baby green salad
With a light oil and vinegar dressing
Overall the meal was great and the staff was very friendly and knowledgeable
We shared all these dishes it was the perfect amour of food for the two of us
Left room for the pan grilled banana and ice cream dessert
Posto9’s chic international ambiance and highly professional, attentive and attractive staff make dining, hanging out, or whatever, a totally satisfying experience. The Sazeracs by barmeister Corey and protégé Gerta are enough to make the Angels weep – seriously! Corey and company give our venerable New Orleans favourites -- Sazerac Bar, Carousel Bar, 21st Amendment, and Arnaud’s French 75 -- more than a run for their money, and win by far more than ‘a nose’! After fortifying at the bar, do yourself a favour and have the skilled and highly knowledgeable Christopher order up a Risotto Carbonara with short ribs – you won’t be sorry, fantastisch!
Had the 3 course Lakeland Restaurant Week fixed price menu. Fantastic value. The cheese waffle Caesar Salads were perfect. The stroganoff was divine. Didn't really need the bowl of rice with the tasty Dutch potatoes. Wife had the grilled pineapple dessert. I had the banana bread pudding with a salted caramel bourbon sauce and ice cream. Wow - what a meal! Superb service from our waitress. Posto 9 never disappoints. A real gem in downtown Lakeland.
Food was good but overpriced and the portions were small. $80 for two entrees, one appetizer, and one iced tea. (No alcohol) For the money, the service should have been spectacular, but it was mediocre at best. The best description is SLOW. You could just look around and see the discontent on people's faces. There are similarly themed restaurants available with better food, larger portions, and at half the cost. Can't really recommend this place.
First they gave us a Dinner Menu and after 10 min the came saying the Menu still being the Lunch what means Sandwiches basically. We were there to have the traditional Picanha what is served only at Dinner (last notice) and they could try with the Chef to order for us due to the inconvenience. After some minutes the waitress came back saying unfortunately they were Out of meat at all. We tried to order some other things just to finish the drinks we ordered but the Egg Pastel is absolutely horrible. We pay and leave, simply like that!!
