Even though Post is a new name for most of us, it has been an important part of South Hamilton history since 1924. The historic building at 16 Bay Rd. was home to the South Hamilton Post Office, and a place for residents to send and pick up letters. In response to the Great Depression, and a drop in the postage rate (from three cents to 2 cents), the Postmaster added more opportunities for residents to pick up their mail. At Post, which at the time was known as “the brick block building”, letters were piled on a table, and a bell was rung to let residents know that they could come and retrieve their mail. Keeping with that tradition, guests of Post will have an opportunity to “Ring the Bell”, which signifies that they have bought a beer for our hard working kitchen and waitstaff. Whether you are coming in to dine with family and friends, grabbing a drink and an appetizer, or picking up takeout on the way home, Post is here for you – rain or shine.

We made a last minute reservation, we were seated upon arrival by a very busy multi tasking employee. Our waitress Shannon was super!!!! While she was very busy, took time to explain and was apologetic that she was so busy. Food was great, super portions and great value. Will certainly go back on hopefully not such a busy evening.

Host was very friendly and polite. Our server Tim took very good care of us! Great seeing Kristen & Andy too. Drinks were cold and refreshing. Tuna tartare was just ok - chips were undercooked & chewy. My burger was good, cooked to order, but the onion rings were too salty, overcooked & thin. Rings used to be thick & hearty, now they’re more like crispy onion straws. The house pickles are gross; slimy & too sweet. Those pickles really need to go away. Can’t we get some cold dill pickles?

This was my sixth visit to Post. Three out of six meals were taken off the bill.. undercooked, overcooked and just not good. Took a very long time to get our food. Waitress Beth was excellent and attentive. I will try it again, but with caution.

Andy was a great server despite how busy it was! I was a little sad we weren’t able to be sat at a standard table vs high top as requested in the reservation, but the food was 100% worth it. Filet was spot on, and drinks and dessert were excellent.

I had the shrimp tacos and they wee the best I’ve ever had. My husband had fish & chips which he enjoyed, but the Napa slaw was too spicy. Families, couples and a big table with gals stopping in after work. The only negative was the noise level.

We love Post – mainly because it’s so close and we can just walk there. But we also like the atmosphere and food. Cocktails were good (mine was great – my husband’s not so much) and we love to just get a couple apps and split them. It’s a little on the pricey side but the food is really good. $60-$70 for 2 drinks and 2 apps.

Just what we wanted- casual but attractive setting, food that was better than “pub food”, reasonably priced. Excellent service - well-timed checking in on us and waiter was pleasant and able to answer questions about menu items. Good experience!

This restaurant gets its name from the fact that it’s location used to be the town’s post office. Like the postal service, The Post delivers every day, despite the weather. Great cocktails, excellent service, and a seasonal menu makes every visit to the restaurant worth the price of the postage. A local gem for sure. Easy to parking on Railroad Avenue too!

We love Post. It has a fun, lively vibe and a great menu selection. Our only issue is that sometimes the young, new? servers are a little too attentive and are constantly interrupting to see if you are ready to order. Otherwise, they are well trained and seem familiar with the menu.

Server was very nice. Same atmosphere as the old Black Cow. Our food came out quickly, so I was surprised that my entree was cold. Our server brought it back to heat it up, which I appreciated. I’d give it another try, because it is a convenient location. I would try something different on the menu.

I was disappointed with the service. When seated we placed an order for wine and 2 appetizers. After a bit of a wait the appetizers were placed on our table and the waitress never brought our wine. I asked the busboy to tell the waitress as our appetizers got cold. She did not bring the wine until I found her and stated that I prefer to have my drinks prior to having food . It was a disappointing beginning to a special date. The food is excellent and I hope service improves.

At 5:30 on a Thursday night, Post was very busy. We we happy we made a reservation. Because of poor acoustics, it was very noisy. Our waiter was adequate… not attentive. Water glasses went empty without refills. Two guests enjoyed their salmon entrees. Fish and chips: questioned what kind of fish. Not great. Haddock entree was okay. Vegetables served with it were too garlicky.

After reading the reviews I was a little nervous. We went for Mother’s Day with the family. It was great, the food was fantastic. Our server was very nice, drinks were a little slow but that’s it! Overall, a nice lunch out.

Mother's Day lunch - the menu is pretty basic, but all really well executed at lunch. There were a few specials for Mother's Day that were excellent as well. We left full and happy. Only ding would be that we felt a bit rushed - I think that wasn't intentional, but we could have lingered a little more enjoying the ambiance.

We love the Post. We go often, several days a week. The food is always delicious. They are extremely accommodating for dietary requests, etc. so don’t be shy as the food and staff are wonderful.

The food was very good. Service was not. Waited quite awhile to be greeted by our food server. After he cleared our plates, he just dropped the check. Never asked if we were done or wanted anything else. Very disappointing. Also, there was a great deal of food and debris on the floor around our table. Looked like there were children before us. Again, disappointing that no one notice. I wish I had snapped a photo.
