we without exception have had wonderful meals here. Our only complaint was that the table upstairs was so dark at this after-theater 5:30 PM reservation that we couldn't read the menus and needed cell phone flashlights to order. the prix fixe menu was very inventive and delicious, the desert not so -- But we love this restaurant and keep coming back for the great food, friendly servers, and the relaxed and classy atmosphere.

Excellent food and service. The discount for ticket holders to the nearby Lyric Stage made a good afternoon and evening great.

We go to Post 390 several times a year. It's always a good experience. This time was as good as ever. It did seem that the noise level was higher than on previous visits. Prices are a bit higher than before as well. But the food was excellent. Portions were appropriately sized, not too large and not too small. Service was very good considering it was very busy. A good place for a special occasion.

My boyfriend and I were gifted an expiring gift certificate for a date night. We rushed over on Monday (the day before it expired!) and had such a wonderful experience. We had the restaurant to ourselves, the servers were very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. Food was delicious and the restaurant has a great ambiance. I'm sure it is much busier other times of the week, but it was nice to be able to sit and relax without a crowd. Would definitely recommend

Our server Andrew went above and beyond to make sure that one of our guests with a dairy allergy had a safe and enjoyable meal. He also went out of his way to find out what brand of cherry was used in a drink. We were very lucky to have him as our server. Wonderful guy! Can't wait to return next time we are in the area!

I chose Post 390 based on the excellent reviews in OpenTable. We were expecting excellent food and excelllent service. 2 of the 3 entrees served to lie table were disappointing and overpriced. My halibut was overlooked and swimming in broth- it lacked flavor. My husband dinner entree was the size of an appetizer. Overall, the food was disappointing and overpriced.

As always, because my wife and I go to this restaurant every time we visit Boston and that is about five times a year. Great service, actually it was excellent and so was the food. We will be back. Suggestion try the pork with pears and the whole grilled fish. Ufff!

Dinner with my college student son while visiting Boston. The food was good, but the service was a bit rough. The pre-fixe three course started well with the lobster but the pork was only so so and the apple tart was a disappointment. My son's baked Alaska was excellent. The ambience didn't quite fit the occasion, too dark.

This was my second visit to Post 390. The staff was friendly and helpful as before. The service was prompt, and pleasant. The menu was varied but not overwhelming. I was seated in the upstairs dining area which was quieter than the more active bar space on the street level. My meal was excellent. Definitely on my list to return to and highly recommend!

Good and interesting food, great service. Stay away from the bars on both floors and request a quiet table. Otherwise you'll be stuck as we were in the noisiest booth on earth. Really unpleasant - hope they can figure that out. The rest was very good.

Have been to this Restaurant several times with good service and happiness. But on Saturday night the waiter ruined the Magic.

Only One drink order for the entire meal - when clearly the table of five would’ve ordered several rounds. The pace of service as Slow. S-L-O-W. Poor in fact.

Long lapses in food delivery. The sea food appetizers were poor quality... which surprised me. (After explaining the matter to the Manager, there was a reduction on the bill)

Although the main courses were grand and tasteful. The waiters’ delivery and handling of the affair made the situation: Dull.

The sole waiter was not the professional that should’ve been allowed to handle a table of five.t

We would have enjoyed more table bread. More Follow-Up on Drinks. A simple Courtesy Follow-Up between courses. It would be nice if the waiter had a personality of comfort ...we flatly denied dessert and moved on.

...we split the bill equally amongst the five people; I left a five dollar tip...and can’t even explain why I even did that.

Hey, maybe it wasn’t a good night for the waiter, but It would’ve been more enjoyable to watch paint dry.

Very doubtful I will return.

I was a bit disappointed. We were seated next to a sliding door by the kitchen. This was very disruptive to out business lunch. The server did not come by after the meal was served, but well into the meal. There was no extra aioli with the salmon burger, just ketchup. I have eaten at post 390 before and was very happy. Hope this was a one off experience.

We've really enjoyed Post 390 in the past, but this visit was disappointing. While the staff were all warm and professional, they seemed not at all in sync--it wasn't clear who our primary server was, and we often felt either rushed or neglected. Hope it's back up to snuff next time!
