   This was our first time dining at Positano's with some friends. The food was terrific, especially the flavored oil they served with the sourdough bread. From the lamb chops and filet to the sea bass and Alfredo Florentine, the food was some of the best to be found in Tampa Bay. We will be returning again and again in the future. The only issue was that they were short on waitstaff, and the service was delayed.

   Went there for pizza…..no pizza! Food is a bit overpriced. Alfredo sauce was scant and the pasta stuck together although it was tasty. Scallops were a bit fishy. Parmesan cheese put on to early? The bread was good and the herbed olive oil took some getting used to. The Sinatra theme from the speakers got on our nerves after a while.

   We had a lovely dinner at Positano's. The food was excellent; I was impressed by the quality as well as quantity. The seafood was fresh and flavorful, the pasta cooked perfectly. Our server was friendly, helpful and patient as we deliberated over our wine choice.

   Food was absolutely fantastic!! Very nice menu, lots of choices. My only complaint was music was way too loud!!! Had to ask twice to have it turned done. We were not the only table, the table next to us also asked to have it turned down.

   Penne with scallops were great! Chianti complemented well. Entertainment was very nice. Will return.

   So we return to Positano’s, having been turned off by the negative reviews since they’ve changed hands. Our meals were terrific, and the service (thanks, Lori), spectacular. Sorry they no longer have the wood fired pizza, but we will definitely be back to work our way thru the menu!

   Rebecca was our server on our last visit. She was attentive without hovering, provided excellent suggestions when asked, delightful and well informed. The food was excellent as always. We had 2 appetizers and 3 entrees at our table. We shared everything and all agreed that everything was delicious. They’ve now added music which was enjoyable. It was subdued, a pleasant background to our conversation. Can’t wait to go back again.

    Overall we were satisfied with our experience. The disconnect would be the menu on open table as well as the menu on their website is NOT the menu we had last night. I was disappointed bc I came in specifically for a particular dish (shrimp Sophia). The service was good and pace of dinner fine. Bread and salads were very good. The gnocchi bolognese was very disappointing as it had hardly any meat. The seafood scampi was very good just not what I was hoping to order. This used to be a restaurant in our monthly rotation but with so many other options I doubt we will return.
