They allowed me to book a reservation for a day they are not open . Drove an hour to get here . Just absurd
Excellent food and service! The grouper was amazing.
They weren’t even open. Why do you let people make a reservation when you aren’t open?
Octopus - fabulous. Grouper - average. Lamb - fabulous. Restroom is way below the prestige of this restaurant. It must be revamped.
The food is very delicious. The seafood alfredo left a bit to be desired but the octopus and calimari was so good! It was loud but it was also Valentine’s Day. Overall would come back
We made a reservation for 8:30 and never were able to eat. They were completely overbooked and had a handwritten list to then reference despite reservations. We waited another 40 mins and the hostess said there were still 8 groups in front of us. Super disappointed. There was no reason to even bother with a reservation.
Had a reservation Valentine’s night. We arrived for our reservation on time, but we’re not seated until over an hour later. The hostesses seemed very frazzled and the seating of guests and clearing of tables was a mess and very behind. For special occasions the restaurant should have a time limit on tables for each reservation to prevent the backlog several patrons experiences Valentine’s night. Food was delicious as always but it was very frustrating to have a reservation and still have to wait an hour for seating.
Great restaurant! The food was exceptional. We sat inside and it was very HOT like the air conditioning was broken? Not sure what happened. But overall great restaurant thank you!
The best Greek food in Miami! Authentic and the finest ingredients make the dishes prepared by Chef Dimitri mouthwatering and very, very Greek! Don't miss this place.
They told us open table made a mistake and they could not seat us.
This was the most fun dinner night of our recent trip to Miami A great menu with many options but not overwhelming. And the food is spectacular. Lively fun atmosphere.
Will definitely return
True Greek food !
Mixed bag.
I lived in South Beach for almost three years, and Poseidon was one of my favorite restaurants. Almost every time was a great experience. We always loved the food, including the Gyros, octopus, Greek salad, feta cheese options, and calamari, to name a few.
I recently returned to South Beach and was extremely disappointed with the service we received from Gianni. He was not wearing his mask. It seemed like he was on something (glazed over eyes and totally unaware - not fully conscious), forgetting an order multiple times, and he spilled a big piña colada and champagne all over me, the table, and the floor. This would have been acceptable as mistakes are human, but the worst part was that we were left to clean it up ourselves, and the server was hardly apologetic. We were stunned that our bill featured full charges for every item, including the drinks and an 18% mandatory tip. That effort deserved a 0% tip and free drinks to neutralize the awful service level. All four of us at the table were appalled. I am so disappointed because I love the food, but I'm hesitant to return to this restaurant and receive horrible service again.
Pros:
-Great food
-Delivery is good
Cons:
-Service can be abysmal depending on your luck
-Credit card processing fee is not upfront, and I read another review stating it's not even legal in Florida. I strongly recommend to remove it or be blatantly upfront about it as an ethical business practice
-Some of the servers do not wear their masks or wear them loosely, not covering their nose and presenting a hazard to patrons, especially given that Miami is a Covid hotspot
So good very authentic.
First time and it was wonderful. Great food great service
Love the food
It was ok
Our waiter wasn’t the most attentive (because he was fussing over other customers) but his helpers were great
My salmon was delicious but the potatoes were cold (helper was great about bringing out warm potatoes)
Was very surprised with the extra fee associated with using my credit card as payment ... if you prefer cash as payment perhaps you could post this fee on the menu or in the reservation confirmation / reminder
Everything was delicious! Try the typical dessert
They took our reservation and then when we showed up they said they were closed. They offered to do a carryout but they were rude and seemed unhappy to do it. It was easy to tell they just wanted to close. They shouldn’t have taken our reservation just to turn us away.
It was and is the ONLY restaurant in South Beach I have been to which added a credit card processing fee , which I read after I left , is actually not even legal in Florida . I went to other great and better restaurants during my stay ,including Milos , Joe’s Stone Crab, etc and NONE of them added a credit card processing fee. Even though the food was ok ( the branzino was covered with a lot of herbs ), I am turned off by this detail of charging a patron a credit card processing fee .
Did not love the food.
We were not happy with the work of host and just left. I’m sure they have nice food but we couldn’t try it.
Bad manage reservations
Terribly run, do not recommend at all. Owner does not understand how to plan for reservations, and tries to put up extra time slots to get lots of people out front to look “popular”.
Arrived and told my reservation to the owner, who then wrote my name down as if I was a walk-in. Waited 30 minutes past my reservation time to be told for a 4th time it would just be a few minutes.
Decided to leave after a table got up next to me and left because they had been there for 1.5 hours and only received their appetizer.
WAIT TIME 👎🏻 we were Seated 90 minutes AFTER the reservation time.
FOOD⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ Good food, but staff only brought out 2/4 plates and said “someone else took them” - (although the server was nice/hard working)
MANAGEMENT 👎🏻 Owner did not use his time wisely, guests had to ask 4-5 times about their reservation and guests basically had to wrangle with him and other guests to get seated. Seriously understaffed and no one even gave us an estimate for wait time (this is my biggest complaint). Many guests walked out and went to get Thai food next door on New Year’s Eve- sadly 😕
They didn’t have us on the list. They were backed up hours. We had to leave.
Where to begin. This place was a free for all. The restaurant booked what seemed like 40 different ppl for my reservation time. They did not honor the reservations and it became survival of fittest where we actually just had to jump into a table. It was a complete and utter disaster. My wife and kids were served their food and I was brought my dish 20 minutes later. My little guy was charged $31 for spaghetti w butter. Maybe it was new years or maybe the service just sucks. PROCEED WITH CAUTION.
Celebrating a 48th bday
The food is ok but not the best. The price is little expensive
The staff did not wear masks.
Amazing!!!! This place has the tastiest food, impeccable service, and great drinks. Will definitely come back! Thank you for an incredible experience ❣️❣️❣️
Absolutely the finest Greek cuisine this side of Kalamata! Fresh fish imported daily. The best feta I have ever had in the States. Great friends, too! Yammas!
Food and drinks were great. Everything was a little pricey, but inline with Miami Beach prices. Go for Happy Hour!
Excellent service!!
I have been to many Greek cuisine restaurants and I would have to say this was the worst. The value for the food was awful, pricing is the same as Kiki on the River but at a diner. Only thing that saved the evening was our server Yannis. I would highly recommend doing a more upbeat atmosphere and just better presentation of the food for that kind of money. Do not get the saganaki, it is not like the normal saganaki with the flame. It’s cheese wrapped in dough. The rest of the food was good but definitely not worth the price point.
Food was great, service was even better. Very friendly staff, and when asked, made great suggestions. I would I highly recommend dining here. Must have the octopus, it was great!
This place is AMAZING! food is great quality and generous portions. Service is above outstanding. They really threat you like royalty and go out of their way to make you happy. I love love octopus and fish. We had great time at this restaurant and will be back! thank you.
As a widely traveled Greek, I can say with no hyperbole that Poseidon has the best Greek food of any restaurant I’ve been to anywhere in the world. Amazingly bright flavors with innovative twists on the classics and just unreal seafood. The brothers who own and manage it treat guests like family and it’s a joyous experience every time I visit.
Great place, superb food and excellent service. One of the best restaurants in Miami.
My wife and I are both Greek and we have tried every Greek restaurant in Miami. Hands down, Chef Demetrios and his brother have the best Greek food this side of Greece. I first realized Poseidon was a cut above the rest when I tasted the feta. I happen to be addicted to feta and the stuff we get in the US is simply nowhere near the real deal. Poseidon brings their feta in direct from the marketplace in Greece and it is the real deal. If you have never had real feta, you are in for a treat. The food, the vibe, the people - everything - is authentic Greek and is a delight to experience. You just have to try it once and you will be hooked forever.
Service was great and they have nice outdoor porch. Good cocktails. Food was good but very over priced. Two lobster tails - $70 (everywhere else in Florida this same dish is $40-55) and tzatziki sauce with pita bread...$12!!
