The food was ok, I have better, the portions for the fish and chips were way too large and there was no option for a smaller plate size. This meant you were forced to pay for too much food and take it home or waste it - but warming it up as leftovers was not desirable when travelling.
The table we were seated at too had not been properly cleaned before we were seated and had food underneath it on the floor.
The food was good but not as good as the prices we paid.
Food was overpriced for the quality and quantity received. For that price I expected food prepared with great taste in mind - instead it was mediocre.
I usually love Portside . This last visit was not so great. We had 6 PM reservations on Mother's day. We were seated in the patio room. The table cloth was not clean. The entire room was not very nice. Lots of leaves and things on the floor. Waiters going in and out the back door . We had to remind the waiter that we had ordered salads. My grandson wanted more fries but we were told it "has been a very long day and the kitchen is closed". This was at about 6:45 PM. Their usual closing time is 9 PM.
If Portside really only wants to do their Mother's Day brunch they should make it clear they will close early. So I do recommend them but maybe not for Mother's Day dinner.
We showed up a few minutes before eight for 8 o’clock reservation to find them closing the doors. Another customer coming out told us not to bother because they were closing they were too slow so I popped my head in to ask and was kind of dismissed so not very professional when they post 11 PM closing time. We ended up going to Sharkbite’s and they were very accommodating and the food was wonderful
I was visiting from out of town for a birthday retreat and took myself to lunch. Food was excellent and especially lived the clam chowder! The dining room has a view of the marina and water. Additionally, my server Cheryl was attentive and the chef came out to chat for a while, all of which made for a very enjoyable experience.
The food was great. The service was great.
A little dis a pointed that there is no live lobster tank any more. I sure hope they bring it back.
The food quality has gone way down since the last time I was there a couple of years ago, for what the cost is I would rather go somewhere else, your good used to be better what happened?
We made the mistake of having our dinner in the lounge instead of the restaurant proper. So, the radio was cranked up and the. Bartender/server was friendly, but didn't have enough time to cover everyone in the bar. The veggies were steamed to an inch of their life, but the fish and scallops were cooked perfectly.
The service was really excellent. The food was very good but I would not say outstanding. I had the oysters rockefeller and I did feel there was too little spinach and too much hollandaise sauce. My daughter-in-law had a halibut dish which she loved but felt the portion was a bit small for the price. They were very good about fixing my son a vegetarian dish adding vegetables to the pasta alfredo he ordered. The dessert was very good. We all had the cream caramel which is very similar to flan. Not too sweet like so many desserts.
We were seated at a window table and had a nice view of the bay.
Made my reservation thru OpenTable, when we got there they had no record of the reservation. I showed them my confirmation and the person said that it didn't matter and have the menus to a busboy to seat us. I said that I guessed that means I will never see my 100 points and he said that he didn't know anything about that
We ordered appetizer which were good, the only issue was the butter sauce the escargot came in was very salty.
When we ordered dinner, wife ordered the fresh cod and I ordered a NY Pepper steak. I was asked if I wanted steamed rice, bake potato or French Fries, I chose the rice thinking it was going to be rice pilaf, nope it was plain white rice with nothing on it. Ok, I didn't listen, but if you bill yourself as a "Fine Dining" restaurant you might want to have something a little nicer then clumpy white rice y wife's fish was good my steak was ok
The only issue with the server was that he dropped sour cream on my wife's black sweater. He was very sorry and we know stuff happens, no big deal.
We ordered desert, it was ok, but the waiter said that it was on him due to the sour cream accident. That was very nice of him.
The restaurant looks old and stuck in the late 70's early 80's.
All and all, it was ok. Would we go there again, no. Next time we will find another place to celebrate our wedding anniversary.
There was no hostess at the front desk and so we waited for a while to be seated. We placed our order for appetizers and entrees. The appetizers were served and then almost immediately after they came out, they brought our main entrees. The restaurant is tired, the food is average and prices are high.
I was disappointed with the Crab Louie salad. There seemed to be not much crab. The rest of the salad was OK. My guests were very happy with their selections. The service was great (Candy). She was clear in her telling us what was on special, quick with the offering of beverages and a wonderful smile.
Unfortunately the food was very bland and veggies steamed into oblivion I thought the waitress did her very best to make us comfortable but I hardly finished half my sole and shrimp oddly old fashioned prep and covered in green onions
Great Place and excellent food!! All Deep fried dishes are amazing!!
We had their Easter special. Very good experience. The food was wonderful and the service was excellent.
It was a family gathering. Well rounded menu. Good food. Used Open Table for reservation & it went very well. We had a good family experience.
