My wife ordered chicken piccata that came with mashed potatoes and broccoli.We asked to substitute linguini instead of mashed potatoes. The resturant made the substitution but at a cost of $10.00. So now the diner that was $26.00 now cost $36.00. $10.00 for a pasta that probably cost less than a $1.00. Was not happy about that . I had Veal Parmigiana. Veal was good but did not care for the sauce. Sauce was too dry, not a great taste. However, To be fair Overall the dinner experience was good.

John, glad to hear that overall you appreciated the Experience @Portofino! When you ask a substitution with pasta, we have to cook and saute another dish, which takes time and labor cost, which is way higher than the direct cost of pasta as you noticed... having said that, we will think how to reduce that cost or change the dish, your feedback is very much appreciated.

Absolutely wonderful dining experience. The food (Veal Marsala & Veal Osso Buco) were to die for !!! The service was impeccable. The hostess was friendly, the bar tender was more than qualified and our server was attentive. This is a newer establishment…. Here’s hoping for a long run . For Italian for, you need look no further.

Food and service very good. Only downside is its extremely noisy. So much so you you could hardly hear the person you were with speaking unless they talked very loud. Would recommend that they invest in some sound panels since it's a wide open space.

This restaurante was a pleasant surprise! From the moment we walked in, our waiter, Emperor, made us feel warm and welcome. I ordered on e of the specials, Rack of lamb with a roasted eggplant, onion, pepper, gnocchi and other ingredients. What a spectacular creation! The chef "Sal" really outdid himself with this creation. What a perfect combination of flavors!! I later found out I was the first to try this new special. Hats off to them all. I will look forward to returning during next year's vacation.

Our first visit to Portofino, but it will not be our last. Looking for a special place to celebrate our anniversary, we stumbled upon this precious restaurant. The staff were all friendly and attentive, and the food was outstanding, as was the wine and dessert! Thanks for making our special night memorable. We look forward to our next visit.

I had the eggplant Parmesan and I felt like I was back in Italy , it was just like I had when I was there .I really enjoyed it and the butternut squash soup was the best I’ve ever tasted . the service was excellent.

Portofino is really distinguishing itself in the Myrtle Beach market. Quality food at a good value versus meh, overpriced food at so many other local places. The shrimp scampi special was delightful and Nick our server was terrific. He was professional with the adults and thoughtful with the kids. Ask for his station if you can.

Nice ambiance with cool bar. I enjoyed a glass of the house pinot grigio. The salad wasn't much to get excited about, but the lasagna was tasty and large enough to share with my date (at no extra cost). Overall, would recommend this restaurant.

We have never been to Portofino's in all the time we lived here, and the food was very good. The owner greeted and seated us, and we had a very pleasant evening. We would definitely go again.

Mediocre at best??? Yours is a very unfair comment, our quality is way above any other Italian restaurant in the area / I am Italian and I know exactly what I am talking about / but maybe you are not used to authentic Italian food . Please go ahead and find a better option in Myrtle Beach.
