Great meal on the patio with great service from Ryan.
It was excellent! Portofino has a delicious menu for everyone, gluten free, vegetarian and of course beef for the boys. We love it!
An outstanding visit, as always. The specials at Portofino change constantly, and I always look forward to a new experience.
Excellent and creative
food and service.
Awesome as always
My guests really enjoyed their time. We were seated in a beautiful wine room in the back of the restaurant. The food was delicious. The lamb pasta and sausage and rapini pasta were outstanding! Great wine menu! Kelly, our waitress, was amazing. Very knowledgeable and entertaining. I will recommend it to anyone who is looking to have a great time with outstanding food and amazing service!
The food and drink experience at Portofino is only outshone by the wait staff. Enjoy!
We were celebrating a birthday and en route to the Buckhead theater for a show later in the evening. We were seated on the patio with a warm heater nearby and were fetted! It was simply one of the best restaurant meals from start to finish that I've had (in any city), in a long time.
The food was delicious, service attentive, and the ambience wonderful. We will be back.
Wonderful food and service as always! One of my favorite places in atlanta to go anytime.
My girlfriends and I dined here and it was fantastic! The food was all really good.
But honestly what made this entire experience something we will all continue to talk about and refer to as one of our greatest nights, was the service. Our waitress Kelly was phenomenal. She knew the menu and wine list inside and out. We took every single recommendation she offered and she never steered us wrong.
She made this night perfection and we will be back.
Apps: fig and prosciutto special and the crispy Brussels sprouts. Both were so good. Great for sharing and very flavorful.
Dinner: started with roasted cauliflower. This small and unexpected dish was packed with such a wonderful flavor. The broth was drinkable and the mushrooms that accompanied the cauliflower really set the dish off.
I then had a appetizer portion of their pasta special, which was a bolognese sauce made with veal and pork, and the only thing I regret was not getting the full portion.
For dessert we al shared the banana pistachio cake and the tiramisu. They were both really good. They weren’t mind blowing, but they were good. The rest of the meal ranked higher for me. But overall, I would order everything all over again.
Service was slow. Had to track our server down and let him know we were ready to order. We were the only table he had.
Casually sophisticated, wonderful neighborhood restaurant,
All good- this restaurant does not disappoint!
We had a wonderful time, could easily talk, and the food and service were OUTSTANDING. Can't wait to go back.
Great place, food, wine without the hype! In the heart of Buckhead
I enjoyed my dinner wait staff was lovely and the food was really good
everything we had at the table was awesome....
We've been here before and it appears that the portions are shrinking. I debated getting a appetizer portion of pasta for my entree ($5 less) but was grateful I went with the full portion as it was only appetizer size, at best. Salads were much smaller also. The food is very good, nice wine selections, but disappointing that they have chosen to cut corners on portions since they were never over-sized to begin with.
They have extensive wine list, but our server new very little about the wine or wine in general. If the servers do not know the wine list or wine in general, then the restaurant should have a sommelier to step in to help. We picked this Italian restaurant based on the reviews, but we were disappointed in almost every aspect. The caesar salad looked very unappealing when it arrived to the table and the taste followed the appearance. The lettuce appeared to be made up of all the left overs from various heads and their was no crispness or color to the leaves. There was a whole anchovy found at the bottom of the bowl, so again not impressed with he presentation. The octopus salad was overall good but again the presentation was hap hazard. The Black Spaghetti Vongole was cool when it arrived and the clams were chewy. The fish in the special was tasty and cooked well, but the vegetables, potatoes, and fermented rice sides were over salted. For two people with one glass of wine each , one appetizer, one caesar salad, one entree and one pasta dish the bill was $115 before tip. It may have been an off night for the restaurant, but we will choose another of the many Italian restaurants in Atlanta next time. The highlight of our trip to the restaurant was the valet. He was so professional and personable. He is the first and last contact for the restaurant and he does a great job!!
Excellent as usual. One of our favorites. Great food, great staff and warm ambience. Highly recommend.
Everything was perfect. The food, the service and the room they set us in, all delightful.
I have been a Portofino customer for years (dined there maybe 20+ times, including several Christmas Eve dinners) and my recent visit was very disappointing. My pasta was broken and clumped together in lumps. My dish (the short rib pasta) seemed thrown together in an insouciant way. Poor flavor, poor texture, and it was the evening special. I only ate about 1/3 and gave up. My wife reports her dinner was just "OK" but not at all what we were accustomed to. I might give them another try, but not with my occasional out-of-town guests. I used to love Portofino and I hope they get back on track.
Excellent service including the valet.
Wonderful catch up dinner with 6 girlfriends, and it was wonderful! Rainy night, but warm and inviting inside, great service, and everyone was happy with what they had ordered.....plus, our server split the bill and did 7 credit cards: above and beyond!!!
we dine here on many occasions and it is always excellent.
This was our second time visiting Portofino and it was fabulous! Great service, excellent wine, and the food is amazing. We will definitely be back!
Never disappoints. Waiter was excellent, recommendations were thoughtful. Food couldn’t have been better, love the salad.
Great until a large, loud, obnoxious group was seated in our small quite room
My wife and I went here on the recommendation of of a friend who works in the high end restaurant industry in Atlanta. We went early and had an excellent time. The fresh ingredients and original dishes are worth checking out Portofino.
We had a great meal.
Normally I love Portofino but I was disappointed in the quality of the food. I am not sure if it was Valentine’s Day and the place was packed but the food was not up to its usual quality. Service was very good as usual.
This food did not miss a step. This could replace Sotto Sotto for us. Less expensive, less packed in, more fun.
Ther service was awesome and the food was fantastic and the wine was really good. Good date place.
Surprised they did not offer a veal dish. Rest of the menu is great.
Casual birthday dinner.
My spouse and I went to Portofino for a birthday celebration. We had a real nice experience. We went there on a Saturday evening. The restaurant had the right amount of bustling energy. The ambience was good. Service was exceptional.
For a starter, we had the brussel sprouts. They were great tasting. Best sprouts yet!
For the main entree we had the shrimp pasta dish. It was good. Initially, very spicy. We both got used to the spice halfway through the dish.
Next time, we plan to try their special or the scallops.
Always good. Meal was wonderful and waitress extremely helpful. Wait for valet can be too long as they only have 1 person working.
