The meze plates let you try a lot, which is good because it’s all amazing. Drinks were good too. Definitely going back!
I had an amazing time at Porto last night. I have been here a few times before but this time was none like the others. The general manager Joe is so friendly and welcoming. He truly made my experience great. I will return once a week just to eat the delicious food and say hello to Joe. Thank you once again!
I had made reservations for 6 people for my adult son’s birthday . I stoped by the restaurant ( we happened to be in the city ) and spoke to the manager and requested a dessert with a candle at the end of the dinner and he assured us that he will take care of it but it did not happen ! The food and the service as my son said was good but not exceptional as they were busy opening outside patio . We have dined there few times before and were pleased with quality of the food taste and presentation but I guess you can not expect the same experience each time especially when it’s Marathon weekend !
Service poor, bizarre martini had to be sent back after 15-minute wait, paella was dry. Very disappointed...have enjoyed meals here in the past.
Outstanding staff, delicious food, perfect timing on course delivery.
Great spot in Back Bay for excellent mediterranean food. On Friday night even at 8:30 pm it is still pretty loud. It is actually quieter by the bar. Music is aimed at 30-ish age. Looking forward to dining outside which was better for conversation last summer. Overall, recommended for good dining but inside is not for quiet conversation.
Good place for drinks and sharing apps!
I had a great solo-dining experience at Porto when I was in Boston for work this week. Will definitely return.
Always great food but I often save it for summer as the patio bar outside is great. We were in the back dining room and the noise level was off the charts. We were practically screaming at each other. It’s dinner NOT A BAR! I won’t go back unless I’m outside. This TREND for noisy restaurants is maddening and there’s no end in sight. They all do it. And they do it on purpose which sucks. Designers select nothing that absorbs sounds, everything is a hard surface. The only attempt were sound panels they inserted into the concrete ceiling NOT sufficient. My experience here was greatly diminished and I was so frustrated I couldn’t wait to end the evening and run outside. Porto is now strictly a patio place for me if I go back. Too bad.
Went with my wife for dinner. Best octopus I've ever had. Great food and wine. Slow and disappointing service and really noisy at night. It was hard to talk or hear the person in front of you.
Service was terrible, multiple items (drinks and food) that were on menu weren’t available. Also, entrees didn’t came out together with long delay. Cocktail also was forgot and came out after food/wine. That said food tasted great but poor service ruined experience.
Everything was 5 star!! Food, service, ambiance.
We loved service and good but noise level
We could not have a conversation
Fantastic place great food and service. Definitely will visit again..
Food was good! The environment was fun and lively. But I had a reservation for 7:30pm and my party wasn't sat until after 8pm. It also took a very long time for the food to arrive at the table.
Food was great, as was service. However did not appreciate the rap music interlude.
The selections of Meze and entrees are excellent, the wine list is adequate, and the service is also excellent.
Everything was good but service at bar was less than optimal. Waiter did not know wine list and had to be reminded about the dozen oysters we’d ordered. Bar staff must be better trained and knowledgeable about wines. We weren’t even asking for advice. We had to show him the wine on the menu and repeat the name a couple of times.
Overall an excellent dining experience. Great food, great drink, great service and ambiance. I’d love to go back there.
Mediocre service, some dishes great, some just ok. Very pricey!
I love anything and everything that Jody does.
The falafel was spectacular!!
Service was great, atmosphere is really lovely, cozy and dimly lit, food was really wonderful. Split a hummus meza board and some other small plates and a bottle of wine and it was perfect.
Food was phenomenal, service was attentive but not a stalking butler, great atmosphere and very energetic. We'll definitely be returning.
Waitstaff nice but a little harried and forgetful
Great place for pretheater or symphony dining- not a long walk and wonderful Mediterranean food
Server was very attentive and had a friendly and welcoming attitude. Food was delicious with some outstanding fresh new tastes. Able to enjoy a wonderful dinner conversation.
A stunningly beautiful space and a restaurant that welcomes you in. From the moment we arrived we knew we were in good hands. Every dish was spectacular. I can recommend the fresh mussels, roasted brussels sprouts, the salads, the pastas and fish main courses. All first rate. Our new favorite restaurant in Boston.
Excellent meal, great service
The staff was very attentive. The food came quickly as we had asked for because we were going to a concert. Everything was perfect as always. A great mix of seafood, pasta, vegetarian, and meat dishes. The wine list accompanied the food wonderfully with some uncommon Mediterranean eines
Great. But wine by the glasses were a little high compared to menu prices.
Fantastic food, well presented. Our server, Sarah, suggested the bolognese and it was amazing. The mezze was spectacular and exceedingly crispy and fresh. I had a business dinner here and the noise level was perfect to have a great conversation and the server was adept at being available without interrupting. The papradelle was very good as well but we left no room for dessert. Maybe next time.
Great place tucked away from the main road - but lots of space, great food and service, highly recommend!
Porto always delivers an amazing meal, the food there is wonderful!
Very nice place. I liked the food and the service. The only thing I'd change is the lighting because it felt a bit too dark.
A real neighborhood gem. It's a great place for small plates and/or full meals. The service is attentive and friendly. This is our new go-to place.
We celebrated my husband’s birthday at Porto. What a meal! Our server was attentive and made excellent recommendations on the cocktails and food. We ordered seven Meze plates to share between three people. The meal started with the Fried Brussels Sprouts (yummy!) followed by Burrata with crostini, Octopus A La Plancha, Shrimp In Terrcotta, Crispy Duck Leg, Beef + Pork Meatballs and Crispy Pork Belly. Every dish was fantastic! We finished the evening off with Blood Orange Creme Brûlée and 30 years aged port. Can’t wait to go back!
The food was superb both in choices and execution. Everything was tasty, fresh, interesting, and well balanced. The drink Greek Negroni was tasty but a bit too sweet. The servers were friendly, available, informative. The entire experience was very pleasant. My seat had a view of Saks Fifth Avenue, which made me, a native NYer, feel right at home.
I love Jody's food!!! Wish she had a restaurant in my neighborhood (South End).
An amazing faux Valentine's meal at Porto tonight. The food is GREAT, as is the service (attentive, helpful) Although it's quite pricey, everything we ordered (eggplant chips, cauliflower (without anchovy), falafel, lobster lettuce wrap, pappardelle, scallops) was delicious, fresh, and creative.
The food was delicious but one member of our party was very bothered by the condensation in the the table water bottle which they filled to our liking with either flat or sparkling water. He was certain that the bottle looked dirty or that it was a bacteria breeding ground.
