Lovely meal and attentive service in a cozy corner of the restaurant.
We went to Porto for an annual family ladies- only dinner. Everyone enjoyed their meal quite a bit! Even the picky older aunts had nothing but nice things to say. The bar orders weren't perfect, but the food was all lovely and nicely portioned. Sevice was excellent. Our server Jade patiently answered all our questions, checked in on us regularly, and was not snobby or condescending when we asked for just a nice cheap bottle of wine.
One hiccup was the placement of our table. We were a large group and so put in the back, which was not an issue. However, we were put right by the door to the outside dining area which meant that there were people coming and going all night long. This included heading through a door that was right next to our table, which did slam all night long and ended up being a nuisance. One of my aunts food order came out very early, but the restaurant was very apologetic and sent over a free appetizer as a way of apologizing. She enjoyed her meal quite a bit, so it wasn't a big deal.
Overall good dining experience!
Food was ok.
Nice dining in the patio.
Porto is not bad, but it is also not special. It is certainly not special enough to charge the prices it charges,
Always a great meal at Porto. The manager checked in on us, which was nice! The small plates are fantastic, and the lobster lettuce wraps were amazing, as always!
Porto was terrific. I especially liked that they had small plates for sharing as well as larger plates. The meze boards were amazing!
Went here with a client and a few colleagues after a conference. Great ambiance, not too loud that you can’t hear the folks across the table. Sufficient drinks list. Would come again.
Server was new. Fine but not great
Didn’t know exactly what to expect, but fantastic experience! Our server was amazing, the food was delicious, and the ambiance on the patio was incredible. I will definitely be visiting here again!
Hostess was great. Guided us to a table in the bar where we were able to order cocktails immediately while we were waiting for our table. We were able to sit outside which made the experience that much better. Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. They have a fair number of vegetarian options on their mezze menu and everyone enjoyed their meals. We ordered two deserts, the chocolate cake and the berries and cream and both were delicious. We would definitely return.
Brunch was awesome. The creamsicle donut and the Bloody Mary was out of this world. Great advice and priced right - will go again.
Try the falafel and the octopus. Quiet section in the back is better for conversation.
Our first time to Porto - wow - what a treat! Great food and service. Definitely looking forward to our next trip there.
Very delayed service, ordered tapas dishes 3 dishes came out instantly, last two 75 min later. Had to ask for water multiple times. AC apparently wasn’t working. Yawner to bar directly to folllow up on delayed drink orders
All was good except for acoustics which is fine for 2 people but not for a bigger group...
We had a wonderful dinner on the outside patio. The cauliflower appetizer was excellent. The eggplant chips were delicious as well. The halibut entree was wonderful, and the wine menu was excellent.
What a gem in the middle of Boston! We went here for my 25th birthday and were absolutely blown away with this restaurant. The service was phenomenal, the food was delicious - amazing flavor combinations, especially the cauliflower meze! - and the patio was beautiful. A great escape from the city!
Will definitely come back. Food is yummy and beautifully presented, stuff is very well trained and friendly. Good vibe overall!
Nice patio and decent food but much better food can be found in the city. Our waiter was sort of rude but the rest of the service was fine.
First time at Porto and f rom start to finish we loved everything about Porto. We sat at the “kitchen” bar, but the tables looked nice and not too close for comfort. We had a bit of everything with the lamb chop tapas and the plum tomatoe salad being our favorite. We also had the Eggplant chips, Oysters, Calamari & the lobster lettuce wraps, we had the Grilled Merguez sausage which for me was too spicy( I don’t like spice but that’s me) but my husband said it was great and really wasn’t spicy at all. Our waiter Jack was attentive and knowledgeable on both food and wine. We will definitely go back!
Porto keeps getting better. The most recent menu updates are all very good, and the waitress we had was truly wonderful. There is a real vibe there now, especially with the outdoor patio.
Food and service were excellent. However we couldn't hear each other talk or think. Just very very loud in the larger back room. Falafel and eggplant chips were amazing.
Outdoor seating was very pleasant even on a hot night. Had a large group and sampled more than half the menu across the table. Only two suggested improvements: 1. because it is so soft, the merguez dish would be stronger if served with crostini or some sort of bread accompaniment (but so yummy!!), and 2. the espresso drinks were not hot enough. Amazing pacing and attention from servers. Loved every minute and we will be back!
The food was different and delicious, but what made this experience poor was the service. We wanted to order more small plates, but our waiter disappeared for 40 minutes and when we inquired from another staff, there was still 20 minutes of no service. Our waiter came back and just stated he was assisting 3 large parties. The small plates were very tasty and we wish we could have enjoyed more, but given the poor service we finished our dinner early.
Food and service great. Music was very loud, unable to mantain conversation without either screaming or reading lips.
Service was good, meal was well prepared, nice setting in the city. Ran light on menu offerings and plate requested was unavailable at 8:15 on a Friday evening. Given location, reasonable value. Would recommend to others.
All was great!
Wonderful service, tasty food.
Great food but much too noisy. I like the restaurant very much but hard to carry on a co versation
Front of house needed work. Made a reservation but wasn’t able to be seated until 20 min later.... what’s the point of a reservation? Food quality was very good. Branzino an excellent value. Noticed every table was getting tomato plum salad- it was good, but tomato needed something- salt perhaps?
Have dined here four times and been consistently impressed with food and service. Outdoor space is a plus without being on a mjor road.
Food was delicious!!
This restaurant is one step away from being great. The food is amazing. Portions are a bit small but really good quality. Highly recommend the tapas. The service was snail pace. Our waitress was lovely and very social but everything took ages and each time we had to find and call her over. They could use a hand or two.
The waitstaff were all unusual. Very disconnected. Not unfriendly, but not very good. The food took forever. The manager apologized and brought us complimentary wine and an appetizer, which was very nice and made up for the wait. The food was all very good and the patio is really nice.
I went with some friends after work and sat on the patio. The band was good but very loud, and there was a private event on the patio, so that created a lot of noise too. I think without the private event there, it would be a better noise level. Food was excellent.
Excellent experience. We had a challenging experience once before, but there is a new GM (March 2018). Food and service exceeded expectations
We went for brunch on a Sunday. To be fair this was a soft opening for their brunch service, not the official opening. The service was very slow. They ran out of the brioche that should be served on each table (we were there at 12:15). They did not have iced tea or iced coffee...said the machine had broken down. The drinks took forever to arrive (new bartender we were told) and came without straws and our eggs for the benedict dish were not sufficiently cooked. The hollandaise sauce was overwhelming..much to much, and my daughter became sick immediately after taking a number of bites from her dish. Overall, one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had.
We attended for the new brunch menu and the new menu was creative and tasty. The saganaki was tasty but could have been better if the shrimp shells were removed prior to submersing in the sauce and if it was served with either bread or a spoon. The bloody mary menu has a good variety of options and the Porto bloody mary mix has much less tomato than expected. We love the grilled octopus at Porto and wish it was available on the brunch menu.
Very disappointed Jody Adams, whom I've admired for years with Rialto, has sold out with over priced, second rate touristy offerings of "tapas" and "small plates" Cooking by numbers. Save your money and dine at a real restaurant where the food is not overly salted and the $30 Bolognese actually comes "beef" and "veal "that you can see without needing a microscope.
Appetizer came way after main course was served...service screwed up.
