Porto is a modern meze-style Mediterranean seafood restaurant with a lively bar in Boston's Back Bay brought to you by the team behind TRADE - restauranteurs Chef Jody Adams, Eric Papachristos and Sean Griffing. The menu at Porto is carefully curated for a shared dining experience and the meze-style share plates are designed to be enjoyed by groups large and small.

Porto is located on Ring Road in Boston's Bay Bay, steps from the Prudential Center and Copley, next door to Saks Fifth Avenue.

Terrible experience last night. We eat here frequently and like their small plates. Menu items changed. Not good. 8 pm Rez and sat at 8:15 at counter as they still didn’t have a table. We ended up calculating total and leaving cash because server was too busy and kept avoiding us.

This WAS a once a week place for us.

They were packed on a Wednesday night, which led to a slow service. If you have time to have a leisurely dinner, the food is fantastic.

My 2nd time there. Loved the empanadas and scallops. You get only 2 pcs each. The Octopus this time was a bit salty but still very tender. The Arabic I was ok. My bf ordered a cocktail (Get Up and Go) and it came in a very small port size glass. Was kind of surprised at the tiny portion. It also didn’t taste as good. Too much spiced blood orange flavor and can’t taste any grapefruit. I stuck with my red wine, much better. Staff was nice, but we were puzzled why they couldn’t seat us when we arrived 10mins early and there were many opened tables. We decide to sit at the bar area instead. Also our bartender who waited on us didn’t tell us about their $1 oyster special. We overheard a waitress telling a couple sitting behind us. We ordered them and they were ok. Maybe that’s why they’re $1 each. :). I didn’t see their chocolate tart, which was really good last time I was here.

Noise level is so high I would never return. Bad acoustics to begin with, and then the music is turned so loud you can’t have a conversation. Food is creative. Service spotty. It took a long time to get drinks. We ordered a bottle of wine, and they forgot. Expensive, loud, below average service.

The food and service were both excellent. We were there on a Thursday night and it was very noisy-- only possible to hear the person directly next to you or across from you, and only by concentrating and shouting.

Portions are very small, I’m not sure it’s worth the price. It’s nice sharing but I’d advise getting many to share. There aren’t that many options, but it sounds like they rotate based on season. Drinks were not bad. Here are multiple waiters and it can be hard to figure out who to ask or even getting someone to service your table.

Porto was great. Delicious and fresh food. Although it was meze style the plates were much larger than most other meze/tapas places. Service was excellent and the waitress was very knowledgeable about the food and wine selections. WIll definitely go back.

Such a wonderful experience as always! We love to dine with Porto and to send our guests over as well-I am the Director of Sales and Marketing for a nearby hotel. This particular dining experience went the extra mile! The hostess, Alexandra, whom I 'd never met before greeted me by name and introduced her self. She got us sat right away! Our server was attentive and informative even with the restaurant being VERY busy. The manager came over and greeted us (I did not catch his name). All in all another exceptional Porto experience.

Fantastic on all fronts. Was there for a business meeting and we ended up sharing several small plates. Pork belly, brussels and cauliflower were a few of my favorites. Our server Martín was very helpful in walking through the menu, and in keeping us entertained. Would be a great date spot, especially in the summer on their beautiful porch.

The food is so/so. We had the seared scallop, the squid ink risotto, branzino and gnocchi. The seafood was slightly undercooked and the pasta's flavor was overwhelmed by the pancetta. Our server was really very nice. But for the price we paid we were very disappointed.

First time dining at this restaurant. We were lucky enough to get a glimpse of Jody on our way in...The service started out a bit on the slow side but in the end, it was fine. The food was very good and the atmosphere was great. We look forward to returning and trying more items on the menu.

I hosted a business dinner at Porto. The service was excellent from seating to leaving. We ordered two boards and quite a number of sharing plates which was perfect because we had a few in our party who were vegetarian or other food restrictions. The dinner was a success according to all who attended and everyone loved the food. The lamb chops, caponata, meatballs, boards and the bread pudding were all amazing.
Only complaint was it was noisy at times and hard to hear. Wine list could be expanded.
Will be on my list of "go to " restaurants.

The food was excellent but our service was not at a standard I would expect for a Jody Adams restaurant. We were a larger party (9) so I am understanding that this takes more coordination but the delivery of food was sporadic and one entry was at least 15 minutes behind all others, leaving that guest to eat while everyone else had finished. We would order a bottle of wine and it would come 10 minutes later. I asked for a new setting for an additional guest and 30 minutes later when the guest arrived I had to ask again for a wine glass a setting and a chair. Each. Individually. Very frustrating. It’s all about the service here as the reason for the 3 stars. These things happen, but other than the late entre, it seemed our other requests were haphazardly take and fulfilled with no explanation or apology.

Not very happy with our experience. Right off the bat, we were seated 20 minutes late. I will say the squid ink pasta, bolognese, and oysters were quite good, but the rest of the dishes were nothing special. Dont see myself going back there.

Staff and service terrific! We were there on a Sunday evening so not too busy or noisy. Could see it becoming so given the set-up on another night of the week. When making the reservation I was cautioned that it can be "lively." Food was very good -- not spectacular: 1/2 doz. oysters and the meze board. Meze board is beautifully presented and the hummus and caponata are great. It is large with an abundance of pickled vegetables. It's either for very hungry folks or 4 people. We were only two so it was overwhelming. We didn't order the tapas items we'd planned on as a result.

Porto is one my favorite spots in Boston. The hospitality is exceptional from the hostess, all the wait staff and especially our waitress Kathleen. We started with oysters, the shared small plates of tuna tartare, arugula and kale salad, squid ink pasta, and risotto. Each course was delicious and paired with some great wines. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

I am only giving this place low marks because the service was terrible. The manager did apologize but we had to ask for a waiter after 15 minutes of sitting at the table. Maybe it was a bad night but the wait staff was not very attentive.

It was our first visit to Porto. What a fortunate find! The raw oysters were delicious and well-presented. The rest of our meal was just as great. Our waitress was very professional, personable, and very knowledgeable about both the menu and the wine list. Overall, a wonderful experience. We look forward to going back.

The food was good when it came out correct, but we had to send 2 burgers back for being too undercooked. The second time on came back, it was still too rare. Porto took it off our bill and treated us with dessert, which was well appreciated. Besides this, dinner was great!

We had a fantastic server (Dan, I believe) who was super accommodating to our food allergies and made the whole experience effortless. Our food and drinks were delicious and the ambience was great! We can't wait to come back.

Perfect spot for Valentine’s Day. We sat at the chefs counter and got to watch all the of dishes being made. Would recommend the mezze platter and getting assorted tapas to get to try a lot of unique flavors!

Jody Adams and her team have done it again. Amazing food, great service. I love the tapas servings - they are creative, delicious and come out as they are done. So you can get food efficiently and fresh. It doesn't sit around.

Great wine and the desserts were amazing.

Wish I lived closer, we would go all the time.
