Porto is a modern meze-style Mediterranean seafood restaurant with a lively bar in Boston's Back Bay brought to you by the team behind TRADE - restauranteurs Chef Jody Adams, Eric Papachristos and Sean Griffing. The menu at Porto is carefully curated for a shared dining experience and the meze-style share plates are designed to be enjoyed by groups large and small.

Porto is located on Ring Road in Boston's Bay Bay, steps from the Prudential Center and Copley, next door to Saks Fifth Avenue.

On the menu tonight is #mediterraneanfood @portoboston in the #bostonbackbay. Everything looked so good that I decided it was best to just have a few items off the small dishes menu. Perfect portions. Delicious flavors!

Went for graduation dinner and reservation was not ready had to wait 30 min for table. Then service was really slow. Out of menu items. Really off their game! Sad as we have had good meals here !

Restaurant was so loud our party of 4 couldn’t converse across the table. Service had large gaps and long wait for entrees. We ate here on a Sunday night and the menu seemed too limited. Oysters were flavorless. Special lamb shank was good and so was the halibut and chicken. We liked two of our desserts. Outdoor seating would have been great if it weren’t raining.

The food options were nice and everything we ate was quite tasty. Our server was friendly and diligent. The wait for our first round of drinks was quite long and the restaurant had run out of bread and Diet Coke by 830 - pretty unusual for a busy back bay restaurant. Service started off pretty slowly but picked up as the night went on.

Host was very rude and unwelcoming. Restaurant was not busy and he seemed very put out with any questions and clearly had an agenda on where I was going to sit. He was also openly annoyed with the other female hostess there which I thought was inappropriate.

Had not been to Porto in a few months and was pleasantly surprised at the improved menu and interesting offerings that had been added. I'll be back again soon.

Overall, I was disappointed by Porto. The food was mediocre and overpriced, and the service was inconsistent, at best, and inattentive, at worst. It might be okay for larger groups (they offer a large appetizer platter that looked good), but I would not go here again for a date night, nor would I recommend it to friends. Love the concept, but everything else fell far short of my expectations.

Porto keeps getting better and better. The tapas menu has great choices and we loved the pastas. Sitting outside is fantastic at this time of year.

I'd give a higher review if the bar staff hadn't been so inattentive. We arrived earlier than expected for our reservation so had 1/2 hour to kill at the bar, once we got our drinks could not get any attention for munchies or follow up.

Extremely slow service, took 30 min just to order cocktails, 1.5 hours to get our food. All food was cold/lukewarm when we got it. Ordered scallop appetizer for $12 I believe, it was 2 tiny scallops. They were actually the best part of the meal, but at $6/scallop, they should’ve been jumbo scallops at a bare minimum.

I will not be returning to this restaurant.

I arrived early for a dinner with my son. I sat at the bar to wait for him. Bartenders were super friendly and know their drinks. After my son arrived we decided to eat at the bar, very comfortable, food and drinks were yummy and the atmosphere was fun. Definitely will be back!

We should have had a table inside, the wind was blowing menus onto water glasses that tumbled. We had to wear our jackets. Granted, it was mid-May. The outdoor table was great for us, nonetheless, because we were on a layover and had already checked out of our hotel room with our two small dogs. They were quietly tied to our chairs and allowed us to navigate a challenging situation (eating somewhere with dogs!). Next time, I'd want it to be middle of summer :). Inside looked lovely. Food was great (I'm vegan and gluten free besides some other peculiarities).

I arrived at six and the restaurant was slightly empty. Within one hour it was hopping. For the amount of activity the noise level wasn’t that bad… We could still hear each other talk. Our waiter was absolutely the best. He gets six out of five stars.

Great oyster selection, great wine, one of the fish dinners was absolutely amazing (The halibut).Another seemed a little overcooked. My dessert tasted like it came out of the freezer (Peanut butter chocolate caramel cake).

I was a little shocked at the bill… But overall it was a very good dining experience.

Lovely resturant. Great choice of small plates. Some problems with service. The bartender was not helpful and actually somewhat rude. Another problem: we ordered two small plates each. When I received the second, my friend's (arancini) was nowhere to be seen. We inquired after about twenty minutes and it finally appeared about fifteen minutes later. Clearly, it had been forgotten. Otherwise, the service was fine.

I have been a fan of Jody Adams from Michaela through Rialto and now Porto. I will surely come back. Also, when James Beard died, my daughter sent me a condolence card. I was an early fan of his as well.

I have mixed feelings about Porto. I really wanted to love it but it was good but not great. It was nice to sit out on the deck, despite the wind, and much quieter than inside. The food was not as good as I expected - it was perfectly fine, just not special. We had main plates, maybe we would have done better with the meze. Our first two wine choices were unavailable, which was annoying. I gave it an overall rating of "very good" which was generous. There are many other good restaurants in the Boston area so we probably will go elsewhere.

Excellent choice for celebrating a graduation. Six of us focused on the appetizers --we grazed through 10 different choices (excellent selection, varied) and we supplemented with a few pasta choices. Lots of fun. Great server Marcel. Great drinks too. Highly recommended.

First patio night for us now that it’s finally spring! Love eating outside...patio is gorgeous and so comfortable. Food as always was awesome..new items we really liked are the eggplant chips, mushroom and spring pea gnocchi and the roasted asparagus. They also have a terrific burger.
I know PORTO is noisy inside when busy but the Patio is the place to enjoy the wonderful food minus the noise!

Sat at the bar overlooking the cooking area. Watching the chefs at thier craft is always fun. Chef Joan, the proprietor was very nice and spent a moment chatting, along with her busainess partner.

Martin (sp?) was a fantastic server and always there when needed but not overbearing.

Top all of that off with amazing food and it was certainly worth finding. The only issue was the wine, for the price, could have been a better selection.

Porto had been recommended by a friend, and we knew of Jody Adams from other Boston experiences. We were seated at the bar-not our favorite, but entertaining enough to watch the activity behind the counter. However, our waitperson was inattentive, to say the least, uninformed about both the menu and the wine list (and never provided a sommelier or at least someone who know something about the wines beyond "it is French", delivering the wrong vintage without apology). The food was okay, but undistinguished. With so many other dining experiences to be had in Boston, we are unlikely to return.

The food was so delicious. Had the squid ink pasta, lamb chops, grilled octopus, fried artichoke (SO GOOD), and the scallops. Our server was so kind and very knowledgeable. The ambiance was great. Will likely go back. The pictures of the venue had me hesitant at first on deciding on this for an anniversary dinner but it did not disappoint in the slightest.

Pretty unimpressive. Meze plates were small portion even for meze plates. Lamb chops were woefully undercooked and the rest of the dishes were average at best, given the cost. I had been looking forward to trying this place as it is close to where I live and the location is great, but won't be going back. There are many better options in the area

We had a very enjoyable dinner. We were promptly seated at the counter--essentially, a chef's table, which was fun. Our server arrived quickly. My wife and I each had octopus to start, I had squid with squid ink pasta, and my wife had halibut. Each was excellent. On our first visit about a year ago, the food was delicious, but the service was poor. Apparently, that was noted through my Open Table review. This time, both the food and service were excellent, and we were comped a tasty little shared bowl of cauliflower and agrodolce as a way of thanks for returning. Oh, we'll be back. This is a good option before or after the Symphony or Pops.

Porto continues to impress after several visits. For starters, the octopus, burrata and cauliflower are distinctive and fabulous. The group shared halibut and chicken and finished with pavlova and ice-cream. Jody Adams continues to create memorable evenings surrounding food, great wine and well made cocktails. Waitstaff and front of house are welcoming, informative and attentive. If there is an issue, it is the noise which makes conversation at a normal level difficult.

Terrible experience last night. We eat here frequently and like their small plates. Menu items changed. Not good. 8 pm Rez and sat at 8:15 at counter as they still didn’t have a table. We ended up calculating total and leaving cash because server was too busy and kept avoiding us.

This WAS a once a week place for us.

My 2nd time there. Loved the empanadas and scallops. You get only 2 pcs each. The Octopus this time was a bit salty but still very tender. The Arabic I was ok. My bf ordered a cocktail (Get Up and Go) and it came in a very small port size glass. Was kind of surprised at the tiny portion. It also didn’t taste as good. Too much spiced blood orange flavor and can’t taste any grapefruit. I stuck with my red wine, much better. Staff was nice, but we were puzzled why they couldn’t seat us when we arrived 10mins early and there were many opened tables. We decide to sit at the bar area instead. Also our bartender who waited on us didn’t tell us about their $1 oyster special. We overheard a waitress telling a couple sitting behind us. We ordered them and they were ok. Maybe that’s why they’re $1 each. :). I didn’t see their chocolate tart, which was really good last time I was here.
