   Restaurant was closed! We came with 14 people and had confirmed the reservation with Al by phone too! Very disappointed in the website and restaurant for not being courteous and notifying our large group.

   So we usually live this restaurant. The food is authentic old school, red sauce Italian. An even on this last visit, the food was good. However, when we arrived, there was a large party in this very small restaurant. They were basically screaming through their dinner. I don’t blame the restaurant for this. They had no control over rude, obnoxious customers. What they did have control over was the 1( minutes before anyone bothered even to bring us menus. Or the 20 minutes it took them to being us then heck despite asking repeatedly. I understood they had a large and difficult group. But I’d they are understaffed, perhaps they shouldn’t take such a large group. I hesitate to pan this restaurant the side the food is so good. But this was absurd. And instead of my usual 4, I have no choice but to give them a 3. And the only reason they get that is because I live their food and because we’ve been there before when I’d have given them a 5

   Friends and I have been enjoying Porto Bello for years. We always appreciate the atmosphere and the service. And the food is always quite good.

   Service was very good, not overly intrusive. The house Orvieto was outstanding. Menu had a very nice variety of pastas and other Italian dishes. The grilled portobello appetizer cooked in garlic and olive oil was simply made, but was delicious. The bread basket was fresh and tasty. I would definitely return. I found the price points reasonable. Small restaurant with a lot of character.
