Nestled beneath the steep slopes of Porthminster Point, right on the beach with unbeatable and uninterrupted views across St Ives Bay to Godrevy Lighthouse. Now open all year round for coffee, lunch and dinner.
Porthminster Cafe in St Ives is a multi award winning seafood restaurant. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. The café specialises in Mediterranean and Asian seafood cuisine and is an oasis of taste and visual beauty.
A Holiday in St Ives would not be complete without going to the beach. Here at Porthminster Beach we have one of the cleanest beaches in the South West. We have been given the prestigious Blue Flag Award which guarantees the highest of standards.

    Porthminster Beach Café in St Ives delivers a superb dining experience in a stunning beachfront setting. A 10/10 experience, without hesitation. We visited for my wife’s birthday and were impressed by the warm, attentive service, complete with a birthday card on the table and a candle in her dessert. The highlight was the catch of the day. Red Gurnard, cooked to perfection and beautifully presented. It was, without question, the best piece of fish I’ve ever had so far. While prices are premium, the quality of the food, thoughtful service, and breathtaking views make it well worth it.

    Really wonderful. Of course the location is idyllic, being right on this glorious beach. But its the food that transcends. All of it was top notch. We focussed on the fish and had some of the most sublime dishes. Hats off to the fabulous chef. Staff were all first rate as well.

    Incredible setting and beach view, gorgeous food and great service. We loved it! This is not really a cafe but high end food in a relaxed yet chic setting. Go and enjoy!!

    The setting and serving staff make the restaurant really worth visiting. We had a friendly welcome. The food from the set lunch menu was delicious. I chose catch of the day and a walnut and Stilton tart. My only quibble was that there was an extra £4 charge for one of the sweet options on the set menu. To be fair, it was on the menu as SUP 4, but I didn’t click that this meant a supplement. I don’t mind paying a supplement, but the portion sizes were a little small. Overall these are the reasons why I have given the experience 3/5.

    Hugely disapointing. The main courses arrived after waiting a very long time. The monkfish curry smelt off and the prawns within the dish were raw and unedible as still blue from being undercooked. The staff are keen but under experienced and lacking customer service skills. There are some wonderful restaurants in St. Ives and this is not one of them. We will certainly never return.

    Been coming here for years and the quality has never dipped. Great margaritas, unusual and really tasty starter (trout pastrami) and perfectly cooked main course (cod). Pudding delicious as well. Could not have asked for more.
