   Had a wonderful evening at the cafe. The service was second to none. We were celebrating our anniversary and were greeted with a glass of Prosecco on the house, which was a lovely touch. The food was amazing. We have been a few times but this was my favourite so far. Belly pork starter just melted in my mouth, followed by crab linguine. My other half has the steak which he said was succulent and really well cooked. Still one of our favourite places when in St Ives. We will be back! Thank you for making our evening so special.

   The new menu is excellent. We couldn't fault our simple starter of bread and olives, the crab and mussel linguine, fish and chips, and hake (the homemade pesto was fabulous.) Great desserts too, especially the sticky toffee pudding brought in as a replacement for something that wasn't available. Service was warm and friendly and well worth the 12.5% charge.

   I went with my nephews and their Nana, the service was excellent, very attentive. The food was delicious, we shared some starters - the meatballs and squid, which were yummy and just enough between us. Then we had a Thai fish curry, braised beef pie, pizza and the hake, they were all lovely. Then the boys had churros and sticky toffee pudding and ate the lot. All in all, lovely evening

    We always visit when we’re in St Ives. We absolutely love this place. You get the whole package when you visit. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. The food is always fantastic from breakfast to evening meal and you get the most amazing views whilst your there. And if your lucky you will get to see the dolphins and the seals.

    Booked this to take visiting friends for dinner. Not only a disappointment but an embarrassment to us. We have eaten here many times over many years but not since the pandemic, it was always a casual place but the food was good, not so on this night. Our table was booked for 7:45pm, the service was so rushed, I felt that they wanted us in & out quickly ready for another booking. However that was not the case as tables emptied around us and no new customers were seated at them. We had hardly picked up the menus when the waiter wanted to take our order & the food arrived so fast it must have been cooked earlier and kept warm. The menu was very limited and so I enquired about Specials (always used to be a few options) the waiter’s response was “only what’s on the board”. There was only 1 on the board, mussels. Two of us ordered the pan fried Hake, it was as so overcooked and dried out! It will be some time before we chance eating there again.

    Chef produced Mussels without garlic. That was good but mussels dish did not hold heat. The dessert was cheesecake with figs which was very poor. Good attentive service.

    It's a lovely location. The food good. But the charging system left us with a sour taste in the mouth. As we hadn't been presented with a bill but needed to pay up promptly so not to be late for a taxi I went to the counter and paid by card when presented with the card machine. I had cash to offer a tip when I returned to my table. I was given the bill AFTER i paid it. However, when i studied the bill I saw a 12.5% service charge had been taken from me without asking, notifying or drawing my attention to it. I felt like a mug and it felt like being mugged. I'm not one to cause a scene and to protest not only that this was done, but also at the WAY it was done. A small additional matter was that the wine we chose was not available so i chose the next least expensive wine (which was £2 more). I would expect in those circumstances that the restaurant would provide the wine at the same price as the one i originally ordered, as it wasn't our fault the wine we chose was unavailable. I'm sorry to say that in view of this, we could not recommend the restaurant to a friend. i hope this feedback will help the restaurant better understand how this behaviour is perceived by customers who hope to have an enjoyable visit and not have it undermined by the restaurant engaging in such cynically sharp practice. They may decide to ignore and carry on with this system. But I fear it will discourage others, as it has done us.

    Soup starter very good. Pizza also good. Shredded brisket pie could be better on 2 counts. 1 I do not class a pie being a small bit of puff pastry on top. 2 call me old fashioned but do like generous gravy.

    Unfortunately the one main dish we both chose was unavailable despite the restaurant being virtually empty at 8.00pm. The fish and chips we had were poorly presented and the chips were dry. Altogether not a memorable experience. This was not the standard we have come to expect from a restaurant we have been visiting for over 20 years

    Great that the full menu is available, great choice, great flavours and good kids menu options. Fantastic location, great views of lovely bay and beach. I highly recommend visiting this restaurant especially out of season.

    This used to be our fave cafe/restaurant in st.Ives. This visit, the menu was so small, only 5 choices of main, no specials, and mainly pizza and poor choices for kids. Usually old menu had the specials or steak and burger options which made it a Grt choice for adults and teenagers/kids. All four teenagers chose pizza, they rated it average. I had the duck leg, it was ok, and hubby had smoked beef pie with mash. Both only ok. Maybe they’ve changed owners, or affected by the shortage of chef and staff like all restaurants. We won’t be visiting for a while, until the menu has more choices and goes back to the standard it used to be. The staff were all lovely and service was fine. We were just disappointed that it didn’t live up to what it used to be like.
