I love how it is tucked away and pretty secluded. The ambiance and atmosphere is the BOMB especially at night, The service was awesome and the prices were great!!! My only critique would be the food, it was not seasoned well to my liking but the Brussel sprouts and hot rolls were delicious. I will definitely go back.

We’ve been here many times, and it’s always been a pleasant experience. Excellent food and cocktails with amazing views of the river. The hummus/pita bread appetizer is outstanding, as were the shrimp.

Vegetarian options are lacking. If you’re on a strict work lunch timeframe, service may be slow. It seemed like they were short staffed because our waitress kept disappearing for 20 mins at a time, and we had to track her down to get our bill closed.

Ignore my ratings. I had to complete in order to right this. We did not eat at Porter because the parking situation was very bad. (With Lollapalooza we didn my think we could rely on Ubers.The Porter website had a tab to push for Parking. I pressed it & it said there was parking in the building. It said you had to reserve the parking in advance & weekend parking would be $15 after you filled in the hours on the application. I tried and it showed parking cost $38. I called Porter & the woman who answered said the best place to park was on Clinton for $8, a short walk away. We drove there and found an open parking lot for $10. We walked to the restaurant. The walk took us under a very dark viaduct filled with homeless in tents. We started to worry about our car in an open, unattended lot and walking back to it in the dark & changed our mind. My husband got the car drove back because the sign said Porter had valet parking. When we couldn’t find it, I called & the woman said they don’t have valet! We cancelled our reservation. Porter needs to fix its website & its signage and find & advertise safer parking!

What an INCREDIBLE experience. This place is beautiful, the service by Bryan was incredible. He gave us suggestions on drinks and they were phenomenal. He made serving look easy peasy and he’s such a natural. My fiancée and I can’t wait to come back. Will definitely ask for Bryan again!

Lovely place to sit and have a bite to eat along the river. So glad we were able to be seated outside be go early if you want a good seat! A little pricey but worth it for the ambiance!

Waitress was great, fun, and upbeat attitude! Great service goes a long way!! The apps were def better than entrees, but overall good! Apps- sweet potato wedges, fillet sliders, pull apart bread, and devil eggs! Yum!! Thank you Porter!

This is the 2nd time I have eat and there. Our waiter although personable, took a while to get our order. Our cocktails came almost 30 mins after ordering. That was the only hiccup. Everything else was as fine. I would go back,

I’ve been here many times and this time the quality of the food was not as good as usual. The brick chicken was tough and has a lot of cartilage. Others seemed to enjoy their meal though!

Rayshawn was awesome, second time we’ve had him. Keeps it real with suggestions and made the experience fun. Pita and hummus were great, as was the brick chicken. However, the Caesar salad was bland and the tomato soup lacked flavor. The pork chop was solid, but would have expected a little more flavor from the chimichurri.

We picked Porter for our first night in Chicago. We changed our reservation time on Open Table, but it never updated with the restaurant. Once we arrived, we waited 20 minutes for a waiter and another 25 for cocktails to arrive. One of the three was wrong, but it wasn’t worth it at that point. Our waiter admitted that he was new, but he had no sense of urgency. Food was good, but not great. We had planned on dessert, but we were told the kitchen was closed at 8:30 as our food was served. Oh well.

Enjoyed the restaurant. View of the river is great. The Hummus and Pita appetizer is the kind of dish you go out of your way to have again. The rest of our food and drinks were good. Cesar salad was disappointing. Service was friendly and efficient. I'd go back.

The crispy spicy shrimp was delicious and the Caesar side salad was very generous and tasty. My colleague has the full chicken Caesar and it was amazing. Server was pretty slow to take our order, and dropped the check without a word or asking if we needed anything else but otherwise it was super great. Will be back lots.
