Music was deafening—even with my earplugs! Asked server if it could be lowered—it was not.
Was told daily soup was minestrone. Was served watery chicken soup instead. Waiter apologized for the error but it was not removed from my bill.
Roast chicken with mushrooms was tasty but the coconut cake dessert was ridiculously large—easily enough for four people.
Consistently good
Great filet mignon! Great creamed spinach! Excellent service and beautiful view!
Service was great , everyone so polite
Social distancing top notch !
The best skirt stake and ravioli I ever had !
Even the complimentary cookies with the tea was great !
Totally worth the price !
Meat was good and cooked accurately, but really small portion for the price (porterhouse for 2, how ironic, that was absolutely not enough for 2 men). Sides were underwhelming, and the service was somewhat sloppy. To be sure, nothing was bad, but it was definitely a mediocre experience all around when it comes to top NYC steakhouses.
Corona note - smartphone only menus are not okay. Spraying menus in alcohol is not so difficult
Excellent! Best steakhouse I've ever had the pleasure of dining - and I've dined in many! A little pricey but great food, ambience and service. An outstanding night for sure.
Perfect Thanksgiving dinner. Great food. Great service.
Always enjoyable at Porter house. Best steak in the city and very clean ambiance in my opinion.
Always spectacular
They overcharged me in tip. It was not the amount I wrote.
Chef Lomonaco and Staff Always outperform expectations! All Covid Measures were taken while still providing that 5star experience we have come to expect.
I was very happy to see Porter House had re-opened last week after 7 mos. closed due to the Corona virus. The dining room has been rearranged so that the tables are 6’ apart, and the staff are all social distancing. The roasted bone marrow with chanterelle mushrooms was delicious. I followed that with the filet, cooked to a perfect medium rare. I opted for the extra bearnaise sauce, sautéed mushrooms and the truffled mashed potatoes. All of which are perfectly paired with the steak. The truffled mashed are a real treat and not to be missed! I had a glass of Malbec which enriched the combination. The wine list has many selections by the glass at reasonable prices.
The special dessert of the day was a puff pastry baked apple with homemade vanilla ice cream. Also delicious and not overly sweet. Can’t wait to return.
Excellent food, excellent service, excellent ambience, can’t wait to come again.
Outstanding food and service. Felt very safe with new COVID-protocols in place.
Everything about our experience was absolutely fabulous! The food, the wine, the view, and the service all made our anniversary magical. The staff was attentive and helpful while maintaining social distancing as much as possible and giving us privacy to enjoy our romantic evening. So happy that this restaurant opened again! We will definitely be back.
I love Porter House! The atmosphere, spaciousness, the staff, and the food are great.
Best steak house in New York City. Tucked away in a corner on the 4th floor of the mall, no foot traffic. Perfect for right now.
Overpriced
The food is so deliciously prepared and beautifully presented. Consistently a winner. Staff is friendly and doting without being obtrusive. Chef Lomonaco steers this winning ship to 5 star status every, single night.
Always great food and hospitality
The restaurant is lovely. The food and presentation was good, not extraordinary. The waiter was a bit arrogant and did not make us feel welcome. The cost of a meal is insignificant when the food is excellent and the service is warm and inviting. When these qualities are missing, spending almost $400.00 for an okay dinner for two, seems unreasonable.
We love this steak restaurant, the skirt steak is amazing and we love the garganelli bolognese!
Great fixed price lunch, two or three course choice.
The best steak I’ve ever had! Well worth the price. Their employees were very professional and pleasant, the atmosphere was very classy and comfortable! I plan plan to spend many of birthdays at this steakhouse. Porterhouse Bar and grill is where it’s at!
We had a wonderful time at Porter House! Our server, Jennifer, was friendly, efficient and added greatly to our experience. We look forward to eating there again soon!
The food was delicious. The service was a huge disappointment. The waiter was inattentive and passed us off to another person when he brought the check. Lastly, as we were leaving, the three people at the host station did not acknowledge us, say good bye or thank you. While the prices here may be mid-level by NY standards, there is still an expectation of quality service.
Porter House is fine dining and a steakhouse at its absolute finest. I highly suggest you explore the menu and order all over the place. Even the pasta....
Not as good as in our many previous visits. Took the kitchen 3 tries to get both our meals cooked to requested temps. I never had this situation before in any fine restaurant and to be sure this was a major distraction during a celebratory dinner. Not sure why this should be. Only received a sorry.
Delicious but be prepared for expense account expensive...
Very attentive staff and clearly a lot of professionals on board...
Attractive, buzzy, modern/ vintage vibe.
Terrific meal from start to finish but get ready to open up that wallet- very pricey
Great food and service!!!
Mediocre at best. Visiting from San Diego and was expecting it to beat our steak houses back home, it didn’t. Food was ok, service was terrible. The place was almost empty but our server never checked on us. I imagine there are better places to go spend $300+ on dinner.
Victoria was a great bartender and the food was good
consistently excellent
Wonderful restaurant with consistently great food, but being at the fringe of the restaurant is great for conversation, but out of sight by staff that is usually on point w service. Next time we will request a middle table.
Been to this restaurant numerous times and never displeased. One of the top 10 restaurants, if not the top 10 Steakhouses in NY. Period.
This was our 2nd time there. Both times was when we were visiting New York. We love the restaurant! The staff is very nice and helpful with the menu and wine selection. It is very pretty inside with large beautiful chandeliers and huge windows looking out onto Columbus Circle. The shrimp in our shrimp cocktail were huge and my filet was excellent. Took the leftovers back to the hotel and eat them for breakfast. My husband order the bone in stripe steak and also loved his meal. We will definitely be back on our next visit to New York.
Good food but a bit overpriced. Sommelier wasn’t helpful and just flipped through the book for me. Atmosphere is a bit corporate. Dim the lights to create more of an intimate feeling. Spent almost $1k for 4 people. Normally get a free dessert or something but not here.
Fries were soggy. Veggies bland and prices have become ridiculously high. It's been our regular neighborhood steakhouse for years. I don't think we'll be going back.
The best lamb chops I ever had!!!! the side salad that came with was a surprise, watercress and mint which went very well with the land as did the excellent truffled mashed potatoes.
we will definitely be back.
