We enjoyed so much!! The food and the service were delicious and professional. Thank you
We love this place. Great food. Great service.
Its was exelent
The food was absolutely outstanding and the restaurant was beautiful. Our table, however, was directly under the air conditioning unit. We asked our server if anything could be done, what seemed like a manager approached and advised it had been turned down and we should heat up shortly. An hour or so passed and we were still freezing, eating dinner in our jackets. When we spoke to our server again, he told us there was nothing they could do (so someone had obviously lied). The attitude turned very sour after this, with our final bill thrown down on the table at us.
As earlier stated, the food was beautiful. The steaks were world class, the accompanying sides were just as good. The service severely let the team down, with the hard work of the chefs being ruined at the last hurdle. Such a shame, it was so close to being worth the $400.
Besides the service which was outstanding, the food was mediocre. It was overpriced as well. The chopped salad was the worst salad I have ever had and it had beets throughout it. I do not care for beets otherwise I would have ordered the beet salad. The steaks were huge but just okay. I was expecting more.
Best steak in my life!!!
Excellent food and service. Wine prices a bit higher than usual. Would go back again
Excellent restaurant; high quality food, outstanding wine list. Service was a little corporate, i.e. going through the motions, but exceptional nonetheless. Food was very well prepared as were the sides.
Great service, Great Food and Great ambiance
Food was fantastic. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Always has great food and strong wine selection. Love it!
It’s always a treat to dine here. Porter house is in my opinion the best Steak Restaurant in New York City. Service is attentive without being hovering. The views are fantastic, and the food is always spot on delicious. On the recommendation of A feature in The current issue of Cigar Aficionado magazine, I started with the bone marrow appetizer. The marrow bone is split and marrow seasoned, broiled and served with chanterelle mushrooms, a light Demi glaze , and rye toast points. Mouthwatering. For an entree I chose the Filet Mignon, which comes with nature d butter, watercress salad and I had s side of the buttermilk onion rings. The steaks are always cooked to perfection here, and tonight was no exception. The NY cheesecake with fresh berries is also a delight. The wine list has a large selection of wines by the glass, I had the cotes du Rhône which was a perfect match with both the marrow & the steak. Can’t wait to return!
Porterhouse staffers was amazing. Excellent service!
Charming gentleman! We were 4 old ladies but young
at heart. All Manhattanites!
Can’t say the same for the steaks! Extremely tough
hashed browns were scrumptious!
Always a great view and excellent service with a usable wine list and my favorite the chili rubbed ribeye steak.
Our group traveled to NY from Philly for a show, dinner and a Sunday in Central Park. The Porter House was the best part of the trip. From the minute we walked in the door the staff was attentive and courteous. Our waiter was outstanding as well as the rest of the staff. Most important the food was excellent as well as the wine, what a wine selection to choose from. We would give Porter House a 5 star recommendation. to our friends and family.
Excellent meal and service. Great view from restaurant of Central Park.
A la carte menu is pricey so we went for 3 course lunch menu for $39 per head. Outstanding value, great food and great sized portions, struggled to finish our desserts. Just don’t go mad on cocktails, delicious but doubled the price
Overall, it was a great experience! The quality of the food was incredible!
The service was lacking though. I would have expected better service from the restaurant. Most of the night out server was no where to be found and we had to wait quite some time to order.
I would still highly recommend this restaurant though. The meal and ambiance is 100% worth it!
Amazing NY Strip pair with a great wine
Fantastic service. All staff was extremely friendly and accommodating. Everything came out at the perfect timing...beautiful ambience, delicious food.
The porterhouse restaurant in a jewel in the middle of Manhattan, you can see central park and very beautiful panorama. Its pricey but nice for special occasions. They have price fix deals, during lunchtime and before 2:30 pm I particularly like the New York strip , my son and his wife ordered the Porterhouse for two bone in. If you want to keep the juices in,you have to request they don't slice it .My son was a little disappointment when the steak was pre cut
Amazing food, incredible service!! Just perfect
Food always good but on this occasion at least three of us had stomach issues in the night
We had a wonderful time at Porterhouse. Donna took care of us, and was very efficient and personable.
We can't wait to go back!
The room is boring and poorly decorated. The noise level is out of hand. One of the meat orders was not cooked to specifications and waiter disagreed.
A friend and I had lunch at the Porter House Bar and Grill on a Wednesday. Unfortunately, on that day a large party was being served; this caused about a 45 minutes delay before we were served our appetizers. (The delay was not the waiter's fault but rather it seemed that the restaurant kitchen was short-handed on that day.) However, once the waiter service and food started, an enjoyable lunch followed. The raisin bread is delicious as is the beet salad. Since I wanted my filet mignon well-done, the waiter suggested that the meat be butterflied (split in half) for more even cooking. I was delighted that my filet mignon was cooked to the degree of doneness that I requested--well-done, but still moist. I would definitely recommend the Porter House Bar and Grill which is housed on the 4th floor of a fascinating building.
Great location and great food. high prices, but value is good overall. Very loud atmosphere.
I had the filet. asked for Med. Rare and is was perfect. sides were very good. My wife got the duck. Medium Rare also, duck was a little gamey, little chewy and would have like to see a crispier skin. Overall good experience.
Excellent steaks, great service, as usual!
Excellent view and food.
I am not writing a review that is longer than the short sentence above...
Our food was cooked perfectly and the waitstaff was very professional, as usual.
First time at this restaurant. I had the 9oz Filet medium rare. Cooked to perfection. I also had a side of asparagus. Very quick service and attention to detail. I will definitely return next time I am in town for business.
This restaurant is nothing like the photos you see. It has a very hotel like atmosphere, drab and overcrowded. The views for 90% of the guests are of some office right across the street. If you know this, I guess you'll dress accordingly because the majority of the diners were wearing t shirts and either jeans or shorts. I didn't expect it at all. Also lots of reviews talk about the great service, of which we had none. Our server frowned the entire time, was cold, and forgot to put our side orders in so we had the sides after the mains. The bread guy knocked a glass of water onto one of our party and just grumpily walked off. The sommelier was a tad nicer, but just a tad in that I think she smiled once when she brought the wine. Everyone just seemed miserable to be there. As for the food, the starters were fine except for the salads, which are boring. The mains were for the most part fine, but pretty standard fare in New York. The sides, once they arrived, were good. Desserts were terrible, the worst coconut cake I've ever had, extremely dry and tasteless, which defeats the whole purpose of this usually very dense, very moist cake. Cocktails were good and wine list extensive. And as for value, our bill came to roughly what I'd spend at a NYC michelin star restaurant. But since this restaurant rightfully has no stars, it seems overpriced.
"I love the location and views of Porter House at Columbus Circle. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The 3 course lunch choices were amazing and the Beet salad was refreshing. Service was well-timed and friendly, drinks were affordable.
Food was amazing, service also incredible.
Consistently excellent... visit after visit... year after year
Didn’t like the atmosphere people wore T-shirt’s shorts etc. felt like a hotel restaurant. Food was good.
We had booked a month in advance and when we got there we were told we had to wait half an hour because there was no table available
Everything was great EXCEPT the tiny two-person table could barely fit all of the platters and side dishes that are integral to a classic steakhouse meal. Ridiculously inadequate table.
