Great wine and Johnathan was very knowledgeable! Also the setting is absolutely beautiful.
Delightful sunny visit to Porter Creek. Extraordinarily knowledgeable and friendly staff serving a beautiful selection of Porter Creek's wines. Lots of outdoor seating areas, spread far apart to far surpass COVID requirements. We thoroughly enjoyed our time and the information imparted about each wine we tasted.
Jonathan was a great host. We were a group of 6 and had a most amazing time!
Jonathon is the best!! Great wine too! Excellent service!
Gorgeous and great wine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not sure why I have to rate food for an establishment that doesn’t serve food...but if wine is food...the food at Porter Creek is delicious. I hope post pandemic that they never go back to counter based tastings. This was civilized relaxing friendly and overall a wonderful experience. And their organic wines are among my faves
The winery felt like being on someone’s farm.Very rustic and the wines were a very good value.it was well set up for social distancing with picnic tables far apart so you never felt uncomfortable. The chicken coop was also an added feature to the farm like atmosphere.loved it!
We love Porter Creek, one of our favorite wineries!
We decided to visit Porter Creek Vineyards for one of our first road trips since the pandemic started. We had heard of vineyards where the precautions for COVID were less than scrupulous, so we were a bit worried, but the reviews that we checked for Porter Creek gave us assurance that they took things seriously.
They certainly do. Tables for tasting are well spaced. While Porter Creek's tasting area is not as picturesque as some places, no views are bad. Carly scrubbed the tables down well between parties and both she and Jonathan had good mask hygiene.
Carly and Jonathan were attentive, humorous, and knowledgeable. They kept the wine and conversation coming, but I'm sure that if we hadn't wanted to interact with them as much, that would have been fine as well.
Porter Creek wines are good mid-priced ($30-$50, mostly) wines at least some of which are organic and biodynamic. We really recommend visiting them!
So glad we found this winery. Would recommend to everyone visiting the area.
AMAZING experience. Jonathan is the best host, so accommodating, kind, and genuine. The wine is to die for and the atmosphere leaves nothing to be desired.
I love this winery! Not only is everything delicious, but you feel like the staff are welcoming you into their home. It's cozy, beautiful, and not pretentious. A must see!
The service was absolutely amazing. We had a great time with both of our hosts and the ambiance was perfect. Highly recommend this vineyard for anyone looking to relax and enjoy themselves. My favorite wine on the menu that day was the Viognier.
This was a wine tasting, not a food review. The wines were fantastic, and the information provided about each one was helpful and specific. Beautiful outdoor setting with plenty of socially distanced tables.
Jonathan was a great host and we love the wines. We will return on our next visit. They don’t have food but open table required a response to submit a review 🙄
Jonathan is one of our favorite people. We have kicked off every trip to Napa with Porter Creek and will likely continue to do so. He’s super knowledgeable and so friendly. Fiona Hill is one of our favorites but if you can manage to snag some of the Syrah, do it! The space is fun and welcoming.
I have visited with friends twice this summer and both experiences were wonderful!
Always great hospitality, even better wines. Some of the best Pinot in California, these are world class, age-worthy wines.
Johnathan was an amazing host. Wines were very well developed- definitely be back on our next trip.
Allie was a terrific ambassador! We always enjoy the wines!
No food here but had to enter a value to be able to leave a review so ignore that. Great relaxed tasting outdoors at a table in the vineyard, well away from other tables so we felt very safe. Our hostess was terrific, just like the wines and the tasting fee was refunded with the purchase of two bottles which is very fair.
Incredible grounds, with full views of the vineyard from our tasting table. Jonathan is a real class act; he made us feel welcome, he educated us, and he entertained. We would highly recommend a visit to Porter Creek, even if you don’t adore their wines (which we do).
Wonderful as always. Excellent wine, nice outdoor seating, great service from Jonathan. Definitely worth the visit.
Strictly winetasting no food. Ali is the best taster! Wonderful atmosphere lovely people
Really enjoyed the tasting at Porter Creek! It's a cool little winery off the beaten path with a farmhouse feel - there are even a couple of chicken coops out in the outdoor tasting area. The wines were all really good (if a touch more expensive than I expected) and the overall experience was excellent - I can't wait to go back.
The guy running the tasting (Jonathan) did a great job and had a great attitude. Sitting out next to the fields was really cool and gave a great perspective.
Note: I gave the food a 3 star rating because there wasn't food, so there wasn't anything to rate and it wouldn't let me submit the review without having something in there
Porter Creek is my favorite winery near Russian River. It sits right near its vineyards, excellent wines at affordable prices, and everyone who works there seems passionate and knowledgeable.
Absolutely beautiful wines and lovely owner and staff. I would highly recommend a visit to Porter Creek for some insights to truly committed winemaking and viticulture in Sonoma.
One of my favorite Sonoma wineries. Great wine, and a rustic, casual space for tasting.
wonderful winery..wine tasting only,,no food. Jonathan was wonderful. delightful personal experience of wine tasting in the vineyard.
Beautiful vineyard. All the grapes you can eat !
Jonathan was a wonderful host. There are plenty of lovely outdoor seating options; we opted to sit by the chicken coop. We got the perfect balance of attention and time to ourselves, and we really enjoyed trying the two Pinots side by side, as well as the Carignan and Zinfandel. Great tasting all around!
We visited on July 10 at 11:45 am. The young lady that helped us with our tasting was knowledgeable, friendly and extremely helpful.
We had such an enjoyable tasting experience. Some of our party were experienced wine tasters and others were completely new but our entire party had a fantastic time!
We visited a “fancy” winery after but were unimpressed at the service and pricing.
We learned about Porter Creek’s history and wine making practices and felt very comfortable, relaxed and at home because our wine expert was so easy going and friendly.
Great and gracious service on a miserably hot day,
As it has been for well over a decade it was a great experience wine tasting here. Jonathan has mastered service in the pandemic times.
Very accommodating during the crisis. Wonderful tasting specialists that loved their family run winery. Was a great and unique experience!
Really enjoyed our wine tasting at Porter Creek. Very friendly staff who all knew the product they were pouring very well. Informative info on back round of the wines being served. Best wine we tasted in Westside road area of Healdsburg & Windsor.
thank you and ali for an OUTSTANDING time. your white's a amazing. your reds are more perfumey than i remember. no matter, though. it was the PERFECT setting for the absolutely more relaxed and engaged time anyone could ask for. i WILL recommend it to my wine tour passengers.
always a fantastic time especially in beautiful weather
Friend’s visit
I have always taken friends and family to Porter Creek to introduce them to the wine tasting experience and have always left wIth a very memorable positive experience. But this time was very shockingly disappointing. The second pour took a whole half hour, and one of the pourers sounded somewhat rude in his response when asked about the distinct flavors of one of the wines presented.
