Very limited menu. Below average tasting food. Below average service.
Very quiet now with less people. Service from Tevin was very good.
Not welcoming.. food Mediocre, the classic Lodge ambience is gone.... the water waiter is more warm than the regular server and receptionist.
It was our first outing to a restaurant since the COVID-19 pandemic started and it was to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Great, quiet meal with great service. Everyone was very attentive and courteous. Thank you.
Food was tasteless, very small
Portions, limited menu.
I got the steak a bit overpriced but was still good, my boyfriend got pork chop, was very good and his risotto was delicious. Our waitress was very friendly, but she did not tell us that refills on soda are not free and he was charged for two sodas, which isn't a huge deal huge but would have appreciated if she had told us. The decor was beautiful but the chairs were uncomfortable. Overall a good dining experience.
This is a large beautiful restaurant. We were seated in front of a large gas fireplace. Those with backs to the fireplace can get too hot. Service was very good but the food could use some improvement. I had salmon and it was overcooked. The steaks were cooked as requested. My husband said the fish on the fish and chips dinner were not hot and he did not like it and gave most of it to another in our party. I realize this is a difficult time during the Pandemic but for the price of the food in this restaurant it could be better.
Portals does a great job and is a consistently good choice in Suncadia. Staff is very friendly, and kudos to the whole front of house team for doing such an excellent job during all of the Covid operating restrictions.
The food was decent tasting, but everyone in my party had stomach aches through the night. Service was terrible.
We enjoyed Portals Restaurant very much during our recent short stay at Suncadia Lodge. Our dinners were absolutely delicious and the service was fantastic. We would definitely eat there again on our next visit. The Double Pork Chop with Risotto was very good as was their Cheeseburger.
All of Portals staff strictly followed the COVID-19 rules -- a huge plus. Service was attentive and efficient. The food, my wife and I split a Caesar's salad and the half chicken with corn and beans, was good, but nothing special. But then being married to a chef has perhaps made me a little jaded.
Best pork chops I have ever had in my life! these are what you want to order. With Covid the menu was fairly small, however once I tasted The pork chops I was very happy with this place.
The potatoes at breakfast should never been put on the plates. They were dry. Perhaps made the night before or early that morning. No moisture, could not eat them.
Thank you Dennis for sharing your experience with us. Our culinary team is reviewing cooking and holding times to avoid dry breakfast potatoes in the future.
They didn't have my reservation and we ended up eating at McDonald's.
Great service!
Had to send food back as it was cold when it arrived; then took an extremely long time to get the main dish replaced.
This restaurant was great and conveniently located in our hotel. We did make reservations due to
Covid restrictions. They didn’t have a kids menu for our daughter so we just ordered her a flatbread pizza. I ordered the half chicken with veggies and my husband ordered the salmon! So so good!
Thank you for sharing your recent experience with us. We do have a kids menu in Portals and may not have correctly made you aware of this. We will ensure we are more prominently highlighting the kids menu going forward.
For being in such a beautiful location, the menu was very limited and just average quality. One of the people in our party was vegan and all they would make for her was a small plate of sautéed vegetables. Unfortunately they are one of only two restaurants in the area so there aren’t many options.
Thank you for sharing your experience. I have shared this with our team. We are fully capable of delivering more than you experienced and look forward to a future opportunity to do so for you. Regards, Bernard
Birthday dinner. Food was ok but not great. Menu of course was limited with COVID. Baked chicken was an odd flavor. Risotto was good. Burger was adequate but nothing to write home about. Service was very good.
Hello Cathleen, Thank you for sharing your experience. We are growing and modifying our menu as we grow out of the Covid restriction we've been managing. We look forward to delivering you an improved experience on your next visit. Regards, Bernard
Food was bland. Seafood was overcooked. Not worth the money.
I ate dinner there twice. Food was plane, with no flavor. I spoke with other guests that thought the same thing. It has an incredible view that cannot be beat.
Food was nothing special. Servers and others at restaurant cater to members and regulars. Guests for short stays ignored.
Beautiful views and good food! Staff was friendly and sanitation practices were sufficient.
The view is magnificent, and that is the major draw at this restaurant. Despite ongoing Covid precautions, the staff was attentive and friendly. Overall the food is mediocre- Ruby Tuesday’s in a beautiful setting, with a golf club price point. My veggie burger was burnt to a crisp, with a Caesar salad drenched in dressing, and a Costco roll for a starter.
Such a wonderful dinner! Our waitress was amazing and we loved everything about our experience here. We both had the NY steak and it was delicious.
Limited menu, with smaller portions than expected. Very good food though. Very good cleaning and spacing for COVID prevention.
We had exceptional service and the food was delicious. Our server (Lauren) was awesome and made our honeymoon dinner very special. The food and drinks came quickly and she checked on us several times. Fantastic service and food!
Great food, nice ambiance, special attention to distancing.
Food was not good for environment, I would expect much better. Service was slow, understaffed. I could tell others were frustrated as well. I recommend opening a high end steakhouse in this space, it would fare better. I prefer the storehouse or Swiftwater.
Hello Michael, Please accept our apologies for the services you experienced that were below our standards. We expect to be better adjusted with our staffing moving forward as we come out of Covid reopening. We hope to have another opportunity to deliver you a much better experience.
Understaffed
Employee running ragged. Not her fault.
Meal small for price
Meals came out so fast felt like a fast food restaurant
Temp afire was stuffy no air flow

We waited 30 minutes for our first drink and only had our waitress check on us one time. We never had the chance of ordering another drink. We had to flag someone down in order to get service in the first place.
This restaurant was recommended to use and it was a terrible experience.
Beautiful restaurant inside the Lodge with the most stunning views but such a disappointment in the menu. It felt like a very abbreviated room service menu and the food was awful. Not sure if the chef didn’t return after COVID or they can’t afford better quality because of the pandemic but it was worse than a Denny’s.
the fish was overcooked, in fact it was black but not in the blackened way. My friend should have sent it back, she didnt that part is on her, but the server should have looked at it and decided that no one should have flat black fish that breaks when touched and sent it back herself. Training would be good in this regards.
I had the shrimp/fish pasta. it was ok, nothing to write home about and really not good value for money.
Wont be going back to this restaurant
This was truly one of the best salmon meals I have ever had the fish was cooked perfectly the vegetables were well seasoned. Our kids whom are picky eaters loved the chicken fingers and fries.
Food was just okay. Very limited menu, though I understand that it is a slow time of year at the resort. Music too loud. Lights too bright. Service was exceptionally good!
The food is over priced for the value and taste. There are better restaurants on the resort that are much better.
Mediocre food. Beautiful location.
Dinner: The quality of the food didn’t meet our expectations, specifically when considering the price.
The wine was not good. Disappointing
Breakfast: was good and not too pricey. A better experience than the dinner for sure.
This was our first visit here, as we usually go to the Winery. Great service, food was very good and we loved the atmosphere of casual elegance. We'll return for certain.
Great breakfast
