Porta Via - Pacific Palisades

We've eaten there twice. The first time was on a 'blustery cold' evening and we requested indoor seating. But the door was open. One of our party got cold and they brought her the most beautiful heavy blanket---she was reluctant to leave it when dinner was over. Yesterday we ate outside on the patio on a beautiful sunny day. It was peaceful and very upscale "California" at it's best. Attentive service. Great food.
The mussels were excellent and the broth was outstanding. Service was also very good.
Love the Kale salad and Bolognese pasta. Terrace is really lovely and doggie friendly--that makes it very warm and welcoming. The heaters are also really good on the terrace as I didn't need my big coat at all.
My husband and I walk from our home--thank you Rick Caruso!
We showed up early, there was a table open but they had us wait 20 minutes. We were a party of four and waited for another 4 top to become available. The open table stayed open the whole time we waited and for another 10 minutes after we were seated when a party of 3 was placed there; weird way to run a business. Food was just ok and service was slower than I would have liked. Also, they are fairly pricey and do not validate for parking.
The food was just ok but the restaurant is so cute! I would go back for brunch to sit outside on the patio.
Our server didn't show up until 15 minutes after we sat down at our table. When she finally did come to our table, I asked to order entrees as well as drinks since we'd already been waiting a while, and she said, I can't, there are tables ahead of you that I have to get to first. Then she later brought my lukewarm coffee drink that was spilled all over the cup and saucer and dripping out of the saucer. Then she left again and didn't take our order for another 20 minutes. She didn't check on us once, our food arrived by a different server, it was not hot, and it was a terrible dining experience on Father's Day. We won't be back.
Great service and delicious food
This is my third visit to Porta Via and all have been quite good. The food and sevice were excellent.
The wait staff was courteous and considerate! One of the attendees had requested no salt on his French fries and they had used a coating that was not to his liking and they immediately made a substitute and replaced the fries. The wait staff saw that our water glasses were kept supplied! The heated blankets from the outdoor area made on of our attendees quite comfortable. (a real plus). We will be back again.
Great food and great service. We go there a lot and have never been disappointed.
The menu has several wonderful options and I had a very nice glass of their premium wine. The service was mostly good. At the beginning of our meal, we began hearing a pounding that continued for the next 25 minutes, at least. It was very loud and constant, making it hard to even have a conversation. When we asked the server what it was (it was coming from the kitchen) she said they were pounding chicken for the pallaird. SERIOUSLY! During the lunch dining period when the place was 3/4 full! Then we asked could it stop. She seemed annoyed and said in a flippant way, "I can ask." We never saw her walking back into the kitchen to ask. Rude. I might give it another chance but if that ever happened again, I'd cross it off my list for good.
Always great experience at Porta Via!
Love this restaurant and the staff😄
Excellent food and service. Lovely ambience sitting outside and warm enough.
This is a smaller version of the Porta Via restaurant in Beverly Hills. I've had both breakfast and lunch at this Pacific Palisades location in the new Caruso development called Palisades Village. It's casually elegant without being pretentious. There is indoor and covered outdoor seating. The staff is very attentive and welcoming.
disappointing, expensive and just so so food. people who worked there pleasant.
Very good restaurant and food - little tight in terms of space.... BUT I would much appreciate and I think being in the Palisades it’s almost required - a KID’s menu !!!
They can accommodate but 3-4 simple kids dishes should be offered unless you want to keep the little ones away which seems a long shot for survival in this area ...
My server was very rude when they delivered the incorrect order and I requested the correct one. My dates meal was not good.
Love the entire new town. This is one cozy place to eat!
On of the best places for nice outdoor lunch in the Palisades. Very classy.
Went for Mother’s Day. Staff was welcoming and wait staff attentive. However, the food was marginal. Two of us ordered the Cobb salad. One came out with the promised ingredients. The other came out minus the chicken, which was corrected when pointed out , but really 😬
Salads were standard and uninteresting for $18.00. The hamburger and fries were ordinary. The wines were also mediocre.
The patio is lovely and a drink there would be all I would return for. Noise level was deafening. Not worth the price. Rent there must be a fortune, but the food must justify the price.
This is a very special, just the right size restaurant. You can eat inside or out, beautiful furnishings and many selections to choose from. I have eaten here five times since it opened, with from 2 to 8 people. Love it!
This was our second time at Porta Via. We sat inside and the cloth upholstery in the booths was very comfortable and inviting. I had the shrimp pasta special and my wife had the roast chicken which was moist and tasty. Have lived in the Palisades for thirty years and this is my new favorite restaurant. Keep it a secret!
Consistently good for breakfast, lunch and dinner. One of our favorites in the Palisades.
Service was great! We were seated right away and everyone made sure we were taken care of. Food was delicious!
Not recommendation worthy at all. Have been 5 times and it's all downhill. The menu is interesting but the kitchen DOES NOT deliver - food is very salty, standard dishes are weak. Ordered roast chicken which was dry with undercooked carrots. The sea bass was unlike any seabass cut we've ever seen. The caesar salad is a big miss - not sure how they do that - dressing lacks flavor and character. Mentioned dry chicken to waiter and a manager showed up and asked "would you like more sauce?". What? More salty sauce... Checked in 30 min early for resy and got the last table by the door. VERY cold and drafty as guests enter thru door and all waiters use to take care of patio guests. Can't imagine it will last long.
Amazing. Thanks ruby
I have been a customer of Porta Via (starting at the one in Be early Hills) for thirteen years now. As happy as I am to have one near me in the Palisades it is not quite up to the same standards as th BH on yet. On this particular evening it was very cold inside the restaurant we witnessed another couple who actually got up to leave as a result. Hoping the can sort themselves out because it is great to have them close by!
Love their outside patio! Even in the evening, it was so pleasant sitting out there, their heaters work great!
I had a fine experience at the beverly hills location. In the new Palisades location, The kale salad was almost entirely just kale. very skimpy additional ingredients. The pea soup should have been, fresh, as described (it was split pea, boring). Maybe that is why it was empty. Menu needs help!!
It was lunchtime so it was quieter then dinner
We had a nice lunch with so much to eat I had to take some home
We had a fantastic dinner here. Value for the food is good. Has a great expansive menu and an awesome patio. Service is always friendly.
This is the perfect restaurant for anyone and everyone. The menu offers a little bit of everything! We started with the buratta and heirloom tomatoes and it was DELICIOUS! Can't really mess that appetizer up, but I have to say it was so fresh and light. I ordered the linguine with clams and I still dreaming about it. Just the right amount of spice and did not skimp on the clams whatsoever!
My friend ordered the butternut squash ravioli and was just as thrilled as I was with my order. I had one bite of hers and I will for sure be ordering one of the next times I go back! The servers were all lovel
