Porta, the Neapolitan pizza restaurant in Jersey City. I have recently been to the on in Asbury Park and got excited when I saw JC had one as well! Came here to check out since I had such a great experience in Asbury Park location. In fact, Porta claims to be on the list of best in the country by state. Our bartender was super friendly and attentive. We ordered a pizza and a pasta dish same as I had in Asbury to make it a fair comparison but this one was not as good as previous experience. Don’t get me wrong, the food was very good but just not as awesome as last time. Pasta had too much sauce almost soupy and pizza was lacking in flavor. For pasta we got Bootzin: Orecchiette, san marzano tomatoes, fennel sausage, cherry peppers, castelvetrano olives, parmigiano reggiano, basil, fennel pollen Our Pizza was Shirmp Scampi seasonal pizza – its going away for the season so I guess you don’t need to worry about this one LOL
