Porsche Grille at Citi Field (formerly the Acela Club) Ratings and Reviews
Everything was great. Quiet day so we weren't rushed sat for an hour and a half. Only issue was that soft drinks were not included in price and we only found out when the bill came. Waiter brought loads of water but didn't ask if we wanted any other drinks. All in all price was well worth it and we will definitely go back.
Unfortunately this is way overpriced for the type of food that they serve. I am in the restaurant industry and I have to say that the food is adequate at best and very overpriced. Pizza hotdogs burgers macaroni and cheese etc. are all very filling and there is only so much that you can eat. Much better value in the ballpark all things considered. I definitely would not go back to that specific restaurant! Citi field is fantastic as well as the entire staff however this restaurant does not hit the mark. Sorry but save your money!
this is the 4th time i've eaten here i find the lunch buffet much better than the dinner also there were no dessert choices on the buffet the food was average the hot dogs were especially good however for the $43 price i feel there could have been more choices
The Porsche Grille is a great option for folks attending a Mets game to have a decent sit-down meal in lieu of the many types of sandwiches offered around Citi Field. The salad bar / marketplace set up has a wide range of choices while the dinner menu has safe, dependable options. The main problem with the Grille is that it's very expensive for stadium dining.
We went for lunch prior to a game. Only the buffet Market Table is available during lunch. Entrees, which include the Market Table, are available for dinner. Overall, a very satisfying experience. I recommend and will go again, hopefully for dinner.
Started off with drinks. They were reasonably priced and contained a good dose of alcohol. The Market Table was also reasonably priced in light of the quality of food. I think that there could have been more of a selection, particularly of hot dishes, but what was offered was very good. The John's Pizza, Mac and Cheese and meatballs were excellent, as was everything on the salad station and bread bar. On the other hand, the hot dogs were terrible and should be avoided. The deserts were okay but quite ordinary.
Service is very attentive. Our very nice waitress anticipated every need and responded quickly. She deserves an A++.
My 20 year old daughter and I had won a pair of Mets tix from the Daily News which allowed us entry into the Porsche Grill. The reservation was handled perfectly, they upgraded us to a nicer table with a view of LaGuardia airport/Flushing Bay which included the sunset over Manhattan. The food was excellent and the choices were outstanding. We both came with an appetite and still could not try everything from the market table which was freshly made. My daughter got the pasta with a creamy mushroom sauce which was fantastic while I just stuck with the all you can eat choices-all of which were fine. Suggestion: You may want to split an entrée as the market table will fill you up. We went before the game started so we saw no need to pay the extra $ 10 each for a field view but if the weather is bad or too hot/cold-this would definitely be a good option but this seating, unlike the overall restaurant, is limited so you would have to watch the weather and reserve in advance. I gladly gave the $ 20 I saved by not going with the terrace/field view as a tip to our excellent server Barbara who was not only very attentive (water always filled, plates cleared away) but was very kind in always asking us if everything was OK and patient in explaining how everything worked. This was a daddy daughter end of summer splurge before she went back to school and to top it all-the Mets actually won! Will love to take my whole family next year but this is a splurge which will cost you about $ 50 per person, not including drinks, tip or added entrée, but the food, view and service can not be beat. Enjoy!
I have always had a good experience until this time. My daughter was going away to college and this was her last Mets game this year. She wanted to eat at the PORSCHE Grill again. We both ordered the steak but hers came raw. The waiter Paul was great as usual and apologized and took the steak away. It took over 40 minutes for my daughter to finally get her steak. What a poor experience.
Again our waiter Paul was great but it would have been nice if a manager would have offered a discount or something for the long wait.
Dining experience was poor. My wife and I were told that we needed to complete our meal in a hour and 15 minutes because they were busy tonight and needed the table for customers coming in at 6:45pm. During the meal, my wife and myself needed to send back the pork chop entrees to be cooked some more which took some time. This was done gracefully by the server.
Unfortunately, my wife who is wheelchair bound and has a dx of Stage III Cancer needs to eat slowly. At 6:55pm, two employees abruptly and rudely removed 2 chairs not being used from the table. The server apologized for the rudeness of the 2 young women. I jokeingly said to the server" they will be lifting and taking the table away next". The server asked if we were interested in coffee and dessert but we refused. I paid the bill which came to $200.00 ( which included the tip to the server). We left the restaurant to watch the Mets lose again to the Yankees.
The food is ok, the service is good but really, it's all about the experience and the view. Took my mother in law's for her first mets game at Citi (she's been a fan since '69) and the "upgrade" to the tiers was worth the extra $10 a head.
All in $80pp after tax and tip is definitely too much but for a special occasion it was worth it.
Always come to Porsche club. Many reasons.
I've come with friends and for special occasions. I've come with my family on a regular basis. We always find something to eat and it's yummy. I've been for brunch and for dinner. The wait staff has always gone above and beyond, especially Raul. The host/hostess staff is always smiling and willing to accommodate. They have offered tiers seating if available and have done their best to accommodate any special requests regarding seating (we have kids-keep us away from main traffic, we are celebrating and would love to be seated by the glass). Was even super nice when we celebrated a double birthday.
The restaurant was fine. I have one complaint. I have MS and I made a reservation because I can't stand in the hot sun for any extended period of time. The supervisor, John, at the Seaver entrance of Citi field would not honor my 5:15pm reservation and had to wait 45 minutes on line. Since I made the reservation it should have been honored.
The fixed price buffet had a wide variety of food to choose from. I made sure to try a couple of things from all tables and everything I tried was delicious! My husband and brother-in-law had the steak off of the menu. It was cooked perfectly to their liking and very tasty. It is pricey but so is everything else at the stadium. Staff was very friendly. Great view of the field.
Atmosphere and wait staff outstanding. My husband enjoyed his pork chop, we both loved the truffle French fries. I had a cayenne mint judo which did not disappoint! But my bocatini in mushroom ragu was disappointing, with the pasta cooked to the point of being gummy.
