The food was very good- but it was extremely noisy, which I guess was to be expected on a Sat. night at 7 pm. Our table for two was wedged in along the banquette side, so close that we were concerned about a towel in our waiter's back packet sweeping our table when he spoke to the table next to us.

We have been dining at Porcini’s for 20 years and it never disappoints! One of our favorite in a city of fabulous food!

We had dinner reservations at 5:30pm and had to get to a show at 7:30pm. We wound up running late getting there at 5:45pm and let our waitress know about our need to leave by 7:00pm upon arrival. They did a fantastic job of getting our three courses in and out to us in a timely manner. We were done by 6:45pm! Plenty of time to get to our show.

Great service and ambiance. Would be great to serve food to match the name. Dare them not asking for espresso though ☺️. Instead of admitting obvious lack of espresso machine, they didn't hesitate serving some brownish, sweety smelling liquid. Odd.

I wish I could remember our servers name (Joshua?) he was amazing. The food was great. The spinach salad was almost as good as the entree! The cocktails we very very good. And the whole atmosphere was nice. It was a little loud for romance but it was full. Great place for anniversary or birthday or any special occasion.

We’ve eaten at and recommended Porcini for years because of the consistent quality of their food and service. This time we were disappointed. The food was mediocre, our server disappeared for extended periods of time, and there was a large group at an adjacent table that kept growing in size and volume to the point that we first had to shift our table to give them more room, and then had to change tables for dessert to get away from them. All in all, a disappointing evening.

Best meal I’ve had all year! Brandon provided great service for some picky eaters!

Apparently the kitchen was backed up as our table had to wait 45 minutes to an hour for our food to arrive after ordering. Management gave us desserts to compensate. Nice night with friends.

Outstanding as always. Everytime we dine here we wonder why it took us so long to return. Service is impeccable without being pretentious. Every dish is hand made and perfectly seasoned.

The food was very good and the service was too. The only problem was our 5:30 pm reservation. We arrived at 5:15 pm and the valet said the restaurant was not open. We had to wait outside until just after 5:30, which I thought was a little unusual....we would have been much more comfortable at the bar!!

The first time we dined here was a weekday other than Friday and our server was very attentive and friendly. On this visit, a Friday evening, it was very crowded and our server was busy and paid little attention to our dining experience. Since we were celebrating an engagement, she could have made a difference in our enjoyment of the evening and enhanced the experience. I suggest not dining on a evening weekend for a more personal dining experience.

I have dined here previously and enjoyed the food a lot. This time some of the food was not cooked as requested.

Food and service are outstanding as usual. I have been going to Porcini's since arriving in Louisville in 2007. I have used the establishment for social and business entertaining. Always very pleased!

I have been to Porcini's twice in the last 2 weeks and it very consistently excellent. We took our relatives to it for their first time and they loved it. The food and service was great!

My wife had the fillet cooked perfect (medium rare) and flavorful, I had the veal chop it was also cooked perfect and very delicious.

Excellent food prepared and presented in an outstanding manner.

My wife and I visited for Valentine's Day and we weren't looking for a place running any kind of valentine special. We just wanted to go to a place where we knew we could get some great wine and have a great meal. We weren't disappointed.

The menu was a bit different than what you see online, but that's not a bad thing. The server brought out some bread and some very good olive oil with cracked black pepper and grated parm in the center. Very good. For our appetizer we started with veal meatballs with mushrooms and a Madeira cream sauce. They were delicious. We then split a Mista Elevata salad (shaved brussel sprouts, pancetta, baby kale, parmigiano reggiano, toasted pistachios, sun dried cranberries in a lemon garlic vinaigrette). The server told us that there would be an up-charge for splitting onto 1 plates and asked if we would rather share from one place. Maybe saved us $5, but I appreciated her looking out for us and letting us know about this. My wife had the surf and turf special, which as a 6 oz filet and a grilled grouper with lobster buerre blanc and jumbo lump crab. This also came with polenta cakes and asparagus. For my entree I chose the shrimp and risotto. Grilled jumbo shrimp, spring vegetable risotto and a lemon garlic sauce. We wanted to save room for dessert so we asked the server to box up what was left of our entrees. They brought everything back nicely boxed and bagged up for us.

The only disappointing part of the meal was the dessert, but it wasn't bad by any means. We should have gone with the chocolate torte, but I elected for the Chocolate pate, which was dark, white and milk chocolate formed like pate in a tourrine with amaretto and served with chocolate covered strawberries and a creme anglaise. Don't get me wrong, it was good, but not as good as anything else we had that evening. It was almost frozen. There is a recipe on the Courier-journal if you'd like to try it.

An amazing time for a Valentine celebration! The staff and management was very friendly and made you feel like you were part of the family. The food was amazing from appetizers to dessert. A must for northern Italian food.

Wonderful experience

We were seated in the small room on the left (not the main dining room). It was miserably loud. The food was wonderful, but the noise level still left an unpleasant taste in my mouth.
