Porch Kitchen & Bar
The food was very average. The butter for the chicken and waffles was freezer burned and the chicken very tough. Drinks were good but left wishing we had picked somewhere else for food.
The food was good but not great. Server was on spot in the beginning but we were all but forgotten in the end. Liked the presentation of the dishes we tried but taste did not live up to expectations. Many other restaurants in the area to try
I was attending a conference and I had lunch at this establishment . It was so good I decided to come back for brunch. I was not let down. The food was incredible and the staff was very friendly. Enjoyed everything.
very nice place we was from out of town and took a chance of this place to eat and it was very good no problems service was very good and the food was great as well.
Great service! One of the best I've had.
Food was delicious. The BBQ sauce was insanely delicious.
It is a bit loud but wasn't unbearably so.
I'd definitely return.
Food just ok. Brussels were very good. Service from Tim spot on. Drink prices very high for portions.
Met an old friend from out of town for drinks ended up staying for 4 hours. The brussel sprouts are amazing. Get the friend chicken - it is almost half a chicken - 1/2 a chicken! I will be back!
Impromptu lunch and so glad we picked Porch Kitchen & Bar.
The food was extremely delicious!
Parking is the only issue here. The food & the service were excellent.
We were there for a date night. Service started out good. Nice atmosphere very loud place was busy. We ordered appetizers they were good. We went with recommendations from waiter on entree. My chicken dinner came out it looked fantastic. I had one pice of chicken, then started to eat second piece. It was pink I immediately stopped eating and showed my wife. I called over waiter and showed him. He offered to get me replacement I declined. Suddenly lost my appetite. Few minutes went by he came by and asked if we were staying for desert. We declined and he brought check over, the dinner that I sent back was still on bill. It took him a few minutes to get back and I asked him to please remove the dinner. He said he would but said he showed the chef who told him they must have hit a vein. That may be but I’ve eaten a lot of chicken and hadn’t encountered this before. I did not get sick thank God. But felt queasy the rest of evening. Feeling a little disappointed.
My husband and I were in Louisville for a marriage conference at the Hyatt and were assigned a romantic dinner. We wanted "fine dining" but didn't want to pay the price so after walking around the area near the Hyatt , checking out menus and prices, and reading reviews on the internet, we made a reservation at the Porch Kitchen and Bar. We loved it! Our server was wonderful and very helpful with the menu. We had the monkey bread starter, my husband had the fried chicken, and I had the salmon...amazing! The atmosphere was very fun, a bit loud, but so loud as to ruin our romantic evening. Really enjoyed it.
Our server was inconsistent with when she would take our orders and come check on us. We asked her for the television channel to be changed which never happened. Our appetizer came out only two minutes ahead of our meals. The humus was bland and nothing special. My husband’s turkey salad came with chicken. My fish tacos needed seasoning and for the toppings to be plated on top of fish rather than next to it. I would give it another shot; however, I did not have a pleasant experience.
There food was ok. Enjoyed the brussel sprouts but the waffle was severely lacking in consistency, texture and flavor for the chicken and waffles, however the chicken was moist and flavorful. The kitchen also sent out cold smushed waffles and had to remake than for us. The bar drinks were lacking. Ordered a traditional bloody Mary and it was overly spicy. My photos are too large for the site.
I love the Old Fashioneds at Porch - and their chicken enchiladas! Great atmosphere and service.
It was my first time at Porch and it will not be my last. The waitstaff was terrific. My pre-dinner drink was delicious. My dining partner ordered the hushpuppies as an appetizer. They were a bit dry to my taste. She ordered the turkey meatloaf and I ordered the beer battered Seafood and chips. Whike the concept was great, there was a bit too much grease for me. I will try something else next time because the choices on the menu are great.
Huge portions for everything! We had delicious Lobster hush puppies, hubby had gigantic meatloaf, I had yummy fish tacos. Only issue was the music was a little loud for a Sunday night with very few people.
Such a a great place, food was great, service great!
It was good.
The food was okay, not outstanding, but I would probably go back for another meal. The drinks were better than the food and we did go back for those a couple other nights. The Old Fashioned was outstanding.
Food quality and quantity were excellent, as was the service. Tim, our waiter suggested a Bourban butter cake for dessert that was awesome.
The food and drinks were average, at best. The food is also overpriced and we were upcharged +$4 for a very basic substitution. The only vegetable served is green beans. We are disappointed in the meal. The atmosphere is nice and I appreciated having a reservation but we definitely won't return. Lesson learned.
It was our first time and it was very enjoyable.
The acoustics in the restaurant were terrible! we could not have a conversation at our table without yelling. We were unable to hear our soft spoken waitress. It didn't much matter since she was never around! There didn't seem to be any bussers - we looked at our dirty appetizer plates through dessert.
We did enjoy the food!
Service was marginal at best, the 'steak' was something that was pounded flat and over cooked, had to ask for a steak knife, server and manager in training were nice but I can't understand why this place is so busy and has such good ratings.
Ribs were delicious as well as the wings appetizer.
We loved the modern décor and upbeat vibe. However, our server was clearly inexperienced and oversat at the time we arrived (noon on a Sunday). they were out of spicy bloody mary mix, smoked salmon and a wine my friend ordered. The server apologized but said that happens a lot, especially "when there's a conference in town". That baffles me. Unacceptable. my salmon on my Caesar was fishy and I eat salmon all the time, so I know how it is supposed to taste. Very disappointed.
The service was slow due to the crowd, but the food was excellent. Has the Bourbon butter cake for dessert, outstanding?
The food was good. We had to wait a bit due the time of day, but our server, Morgan, kept us informed and was attentive. Cool vibe.
Food was great, the service wasn’t.
The food was completely forgettable. The Corn Muffins and Crab Hush Puppies were excellent.
The service was quick but my husband’s waffle came out lukewarm and my bacon was not hot or crispy. They let me swap it out for the sausage, which was nice of them, but the sausage was just ok. The hash browns were nice and crispy and the eggs were cooked exactly as ordered, so that in addition to the delicious Brussels sprouts starter helped save the meal
Let just say my sandwich was way over priced for what I got. My side was green beans and I literally had eight very small beans. Tasted good but literally 2 small bites. The sandwich was good but again very small. Not worth it. I dine at fine dining and steakhouses and this was just not enough food and it’s not considered fine dining but supposed to be a good restaurant.
Great salad for lunch.
Great environment and food. The drinks were great, but it took ordering a drink 4 times to finally get something that they weren’t out of on their speciality menu.
The customer service from the time I walked in the door until I left was not good. I made a reservation for one when I thought the restaurant would be quite busy. When I walked it, over half of the restaurant was empty. I was told my table was a high top but I asked for a regular table. The hostess said that they had too many reservations. Her supervisor found a two top table and had me seated there. After seating, the hostess said that it might be awhile until my server came over because he was helping other tables. Two seconds later, a different waiter was at my table. The first words out of his mouth were “are you ready to order”. I had just sat down and he didn’t even greet me or welcome me to the restaurant. I told him I wasn’t ready and he walked away to come back about 1 minute later to ask me again if I was ready to order. I ordered a glass of wine and my meal and he went away. It took awhile to get my wine. My food was brought to me by another staff member, and about 2 min later, my waiter is back and places my check on the table. He never came back to the table to ask if everything was good or if I needed anything else. I did speak to a manager who had come by my table to ask how everything was. I told her of the poor customer service; she was apologetic and asked if she could do anything. My food was fine, just terrible customer service.
My meal (chicken & waffles) was just okay. Nothing to write home about. I would say the aesthetics of the place were the highlight of my experience there. I went there on a colder day and really wanted a hot chocolate, but they apparently don't serve that.
The food was good. I wouldn’t say excellent but definitely good for the money and worth going back for. Our server was nice but we waited a long time for drinks and for our food to come out. The par rating on service is more for the manager. She was awful! We didn’t ask for her at all, but we did ask for one tv to be turned on the UK game. You’d have thought we’d asked for her to give us all of our food for free! Or maybe she’s just a U of L fan. 🤷🏻♀️ Regardless, it didn’t seem like it should’ve been that difficult or required such a reaction. Maybe she was just having a bad night or we just weren’t her cup of tea. Point is, I wouldn’t make any special requests.
What you might expect from a hotel restaurant. Trendy menu inexpertly prepared, mostly adequate service. Nice decor. Fine if you’re staying at the hotel and it’s raining so you don’t feel like going to any of the excellent options within walking distance. No espresso. No dessert cocktails. I was served a 10 ounce glass of port.
Dinner was very good. My wife had the chili and I had the ribs. The couple with us had the fish tacos. All seemed satisfied with their meals. The place was full and our server was not especially attentive. I had tea with my meal, but she never offered a refill or even came to see if we needed anything else after she served our meal until time to see if we wanted to see the dessert menu. Even then she did not ask or offer any additional drinks. My wife and I chose to order the banana cream pie, which turned out to be an extreme disappointment. It had virtually no taste and certainly no banana flavor. It seemed to be a store bought pie. I would go back for dinner, but based on the pie, would skip dessert.
Great open air seating area. Food was good and reasonable.
