Service was wonderful. First restaurant in Galveston we did not feel rushed so they could turn a table. The chef was very nice, talked to each table. Great experience
Service was great. Food was really good. Everyone was very nice and the atmosphere was amazing. Will go back.
Peter was a very friendly and knowledgeable waiter. He recommended the lamb lollipops which were delicious. We had a berry salad which was lightly dressed and had plenty of fruit. The red snapper had a wonderful crème sauce with capers and the cheesy grits were an excellent accompaniment. I also had one of the best Bloody Mary’s I’ve ever had. We will definitely be back-we want to try their brunch!!
Food was great! Sad they were out of Filet but over all good dinner. Nice place for quiet dinner where you can actually have a quiet conversation.
Went to the Wine and Whisky pairing dinner and it exceeded all of my expectations. Each dish was carefully paired with a wine or whiskey that complemented every flavor. The food was exquisite and I would go back there in a heartbeat! We’ll definitely be back again when we’re in Galveston!
We went for Sunday Brunch and ended up going back for the wine and whiskey dinner that evening. Everyone was nice and the food was great. Mike our brunch waiter was attentive and Peter our dinner waiter was just as attentive and explained every course. If you have not tired this place you are missing out. We don't go to the island very often but every time we eat here!!!!
We were delighted with our New Year’s Eve dinner. There were more choices for each course this year so each of us always had a happy decision rather than settling. The crab cake was a standout, light and very full of crabmeat instead of breading. Portions were huge so we had to take some courses home. Service was attentive and helpful.
Overpriced. It was New Year's Eve, so maybe that's what happens. Not inclined to return. The best part was a very nice waitress. Food was just okay. Nothing special.
Fixed price New Years menu was overpriced. Food was good particularly the chowder. Crab cake very tasty but only one small cake. Small wedge salad. Steak was tasty but contained much fat. Did not appear to be $50 New York Strip. For $125 I expected much more.
New Year’s Eve
Superior service and exquisite food. The Porch is a must.
We had a great time at the wine pairing dinner - everything was great and went well with the pairings. In our group of four, we had one picky eater who they were easily able to accommodate along with the three of us who had the pairing meal. He had the baked goat cheese, which was warm and went well with the berries and almond they baked it with, for an appetizer; a steak with garlic parmesan fries for his entree which was tender and cooked exactly how he likes it; and blackberry cobbler for dessert, which was the same as in our pairing and his first time to try and now he wants a recipe for it.
For the pairing, our first course was a Pinot noir paired with a curry chicken vegetable soup. The soup was great with the wine, and smooth and savory. The second course was a Caesar salad with blackened shrimp, paired with Sauvignon blanc. I got the tomatoes from my husband’s salad, so added bonus for me there. The salad was good, the shrimp was amazing and I’d definitely try this again. Our third course was red snapper with grits and asparagus. The fish was perfect - my mother in law said it’s the best gosh she’s ever had. All of us ate every bite. The fish was paired with a California Chardonnay and this pairing brought out the best in the fish. Our fourth dish was the dessert of blackberry cobbler, served with merlot and this was also very well made. I’d never had merlot with dessert before and this was better than I’d expected and I’m glad to have tried it. The coffee to top it off brought a delightful end to our meal.
I can’t wait to get another chance to try this out and see what surprises are in store.

Great environment, beautiful view, classic beach house design. Food overall is delicious, but some dishes on menu were not available (no gumbo soup, no avocado salad), coffee machine was broken, ice cream just simply scooped out of the bucket.
Happy hour on Friday evenings from 4-7pm is amazing. Half price wine and $10 appetizers - fried green tomatoes with lots of crab meat, and the lamp lollipops with grits are my favorites,
Excellent Sunday brunch, seated on patio where it was quiet. Macy took great care of us in a non invasive manner never interrupting our conversation and anticipating what we needed next. Thank you for a very nice Sunday morning, we will be back often.
Second time eating there. Everything was great, but we ordered two hens and after waiting for a while, they were still raw so they took them back to the kitchen and cooked them more. Twenty minutes later, they were very tasty although still pink inside.
We enjoyed of visit to Porch Cafe. Drinks were great, food delicious and staff very helpful and friendly. Looking forward to returning in warmer weather. Restaurant clean and decorated nicely.
Wonderful food! Ambience is great! Mike our server was outstanding! Highly recommend Keith Davis
The place is very nice, the service excellent and the food amazing g.
Had the stuffed flounder.. excellent. My old fashion was ordered with a little sugar.. came to me 1:2 sugar.. Ugg. But was replaced with no charge. Very good. Wine list very reasonable. Bread pudding super. Very good service. Highly recommend.
The service was spectacular right when we walked thru the door to the end. Food was wonderful!! I feel bad, but I can’t remember our servers name. She was sweet and we talked about traveling to Italy.
We visited The Porch during our anniversary trip to the gulf. Our brunch was delicious, the chicken and waffles were perfection and the veggie frittata was amazing. Service was outstanding, we’ll definitely be back.
Everything we had was delicious and the server Peter was excellent. Couldn’t have been better!
Consistent service and food every time. Never disappointed. Great staff.
We have used this place regularly since it opened - we live a short walk away. This time - no printed menu, our three choices of food not available, walked out hungry after 30 minutes. Will not be going back.
It was a great evening! Highly recommend the wine/bourbon pairing dinner!
Wow. This is literally the worst dining experience I have ever had. Except to be fair, we actually never got the chance to eat anything because my family of four left after being there for almost two hours and not being served. Get your act together, Porch Cafe.
we really enjoy having brunch at Porch. It is such a relaxing place with the best waiters.
Service was excellent. Brunch menu had some great options and everything was amazing. Definitely try the fried green tomatoes with lump crab meat.
Fried green tomatoes are excellent. Service was very good.
Great time as usual. Love the view on the patio. Will be back.
The place looked great, just as it did online. The place was not packed, even though hours of availability for reservations were limited as if it was packed.
Our dinner reservations were for 7:45. The hostess and waitstaff were very friendly, but I think what we experienced after that might have been COVID-19 related. The waitress said she would be completing a 12-hour shift soon and she was exhausted. But it was not made as a complaint, but it seemed as part of what I thought was casual conversation.
My friend ordered the Cornish hen. She was told they didn’t have it and they rarely had it. Then she ordered the kids burger. After some time later, she was told that they didn’t have any burgers. She then asked them what do they have. After some discussion, the waiter suggested a grilled chicken sandwich. This was not on the menu, but the waitress assured my friend that they could prepare the sandwich for her.
I started with an alcoholic beverage, which I finished very quickly, which let me know it had no alcohol. I usually only have 1 drink and before I complete my drink, I almost always feel the effects. The drink was good, sweet, but barely any alcohol.
At 8:30, we were told that our food would be out soon. I then asked her if she could give us a time. I had seen the food that others had received who arrived the same time as we had. She said she’d confirm for us.
The only reason my friend and I stayed as long as we had, is because we had not seen each other in such a long time, we spent the time catching up, and the noise level was perfect. There weren’t a lot of people present and it was perfect other than the fact that we never received any food, not even offered bread or a small salad while we waited.
At 9, I left cash on the table for our drinks and we left. Our waitress had never come back with an update. I would never return.
Service was poor, food questionable a simple order took one hour and 15 minutes to deliver to the table. Typically I don’t like to dwell on the negative but I will not plan on a return trip to the porch.
The food was amazing. The chef took shrimp and grits to a whole new level. Simply delicious.
Beautiful restaurant with great food and amazing views!
Reunion of friends
Dinner took one and a half hours for our dinner to come out and most of ours were cold or not very edible. Service was excellent. The woman tried extremely hard. We six of us, felt the price was definitely not worth the money.
My husband had the fish and it was excellent
I had the chicken it was also delicious
The service can be slow but well worth the wait
