The expanded menu is terrific! Continues to be one of our “go to” sites.
The atmosphere and vibe is cool. Love the modern decor and industrial touches. Went with a group of wine ladies and we were all happy with our selections. Like that they offer smaller taster pours so can sample to your liking. This is the second time I’ve had food here and both times I’ve been disappointed in its execution. The chicken spring rolls were dry(chicken) and lacked flavor. I sampled the basic Mac n cheese; it was gummy and not very good. Bitto Bistro in Orchard has dated decor but their food selection and execution is way above Por.
I wish my rating was even accurate as we were unable to actually experience any dining here. Arrived shortly after 11 for our 11:15 reservation and the restaurant was not even open.
Such a great place for a quite evening out or dinner with a bunch of friends!! Great Menu and Great People.
The food was good, but hard to ignore terrible service. We had to constantly ask our server for basic things, like water, my drink, silverware, to come back to take our order, etc. He was nice enough, but either incredibly incapable of working a busy shift or it was just a bad night. I might give it a second shot, but if that happens again, it's definitely not going back.
Kent was great! The food was very good
Happy Hour: amazing fries served with the fish...nice portion. Wish the tri tip skewers also included the fries...as they were the plate was underwhelming. Hummus plate was spot on. Lovely outdoor seating...attentive and gracious staff. Good wine selection. Dark and Stormy cocktail was good... but personally, I feel it should be served in a glass rather than a copper mug so the deep color can be appreciated and you know you are not drinking a Moscow Mule. Happy that straws were not used....although I don't know if that is an overall restaurant policy. Will definitely be back with friends to sit around the outdoor fire table!
They were very busy. Server wasn’t very attentive. We made a reservation and still got stuck in a busy corner. Probably worst table on the patio. Food was good and we’ll try them again.
So many other great local options in Louisville. POR is a complete disaster. Most items we tried to order they were out of. Couldn’t find the bottle of wine we ordered. The place is supposed to be a wine restaurant and they have no idea how to even serve wine. Gave us a different bottle than what we ordered because once again, they couldn’t find the one we ordered. And then did not keep the bottle of white wine chilled once they served it. Food came sporadically and some never came. We finally gave up and left without getting all that we ordered.
We enjoyed our dining at por. Our server was wonderful and the food delicious
Service could be improved. Had to finally go to the bar and order the first round. After that service picked up but wasn’t great. The food was ok. My wife and I remember it being better at their original location. Also they advertised a Friday night special on their website (I showed it to our waitress on my phone). I was told they haven’t done that special for 6 years. This is not true since my wife and I had taken advantage of it on multiple visits in the past. Didn’t appreciate that.
Beautiful setting, great service, fantastic sangria!
This place is delicious. First - let’s start with half off bottles of wine on Saturdays!! The food is beyond delicious and great portion size. Menu is allergy friendly and easily modified. The live music is beautiful and comforting. Inside & outside the restaurant is gorgeous. I am a fan for life!!
We’v Been before and have enjoyed the food but this time everything was indifferent, on the dull side. What made it worse was the music which was way too loud to have a conversation; because I’ Sensitive to background music and noise, I use an app which measures the sound level and it averaged at 87db with peaks in the early 90’s which is considered very loud. All in all a disappointing visit. The best thing was my Sazerac which was tasty.
Love, love, love!! Can’t wait to return. Drinks and food were all perfection!
We have always enjoyed Por in the past, but it seems that the recent move to the new location has changed the restaurant, and it’s not great. After 3 experiences there, I can say that the food is just Ok. Our first experience had us served burnt bread and tasteless spreads. Bacon wrapped dates were served burnt on the outside and raw on the inside. Our most recent food experience, we were served burrata with four pieces of bread, for $17. We had asked for gluten free bread as well, and were served gluten free crackers piled up on top of the regular bread, which ruined the crackers for our gluten free family member. We were there on a Wednesday evening, and the service was slow, the staff did not clear the many dirty tables around us at all during our stay. We had made a reservation and got seated in the back area looking at the garbage cans and the kitchen. Overall, this location seems like it should be a hugely successful spot, but the unappealing food and poor service will doom this version of Por.
Great restaurant for date night. No complaints, everything was really good.
Don’t know where to begin. Food pizza burnt crust. Spring rolls. Avocado was harder than a rock. Service was very poor. Tables weren’t clean.
Third time is not a charm.
Since there relocation the service and food has declined to what we have been used to. Wont be back for food anytime soon. Not a bad place to meet up for drinks.
Loved this, great wine and food. - amazing atmosphere. Already have reservations to go back!
First time to new location. It was nice but not as quaint as old location. Happy hour 2 appetizers + 4 drinks ~$60. Food was tasty.
We were there for a special event (Mother's Day Brunch) and I know that they are new, but we unfortunately experienced the same very slow service that we did when its predecessor (Coabana) opened. Seemed like they were very understaffed.
Mother’s Day brunch, waited a long time for the food and some menu items were not available. The staff was open and honest that they were trying a brunch for the first time and still had some kinks to work out. The location and patio are amazing so we would like to try again for dinner.
Unfortunately the service was horrendous. After 15 mins our server finally asked if we wanted a beverage. Also, we placed our order and one hour later they told us that they were out of an item. I really want this place to do well but they need to fix their service levels fast or it will be another failure at this location.
It was very busy and tables were way too close to each other. Service was slow and food choices not great.
Unfortunately the food was not very good. The desserts were inedible and the other food items were just okay. Service was good, not great.
New location and new prices - high prices. Went to enjoy Happy Hour and the value of the food compared to what we received was not in sync.
Was supposed to be a birthday celebration. We sat for 15 minutes before anybody even decided to wait on us.
Next we ask specific questions regarding the cheese plate as there was food allergy concerns we were told we would get three different chefs boards minus blue cheese. All three came with blue cheese when we brought it to their attention they brought us back one with goat cheese on it which was another concern.
Next we ordered to flatbreads after another 17 minutes waiting they told us they forgot to put them in.
When I asked if they would be taken off the bill the waiter rudely responded I'll buy her a drink.
We had been there so many times in the old location and not sure whether the big location is too much to handle or just bad service but don't know that we will be back :-(
Great service and excellent food. Always a fun time on the patio
Very farm-to-table feeling and gluten-free friendly.
We could hardly hear/se the music... Missing the cozyness from the last location :(
Food and wine is always amazing!
The server, very tall and new, was excellent, polite and friendly!
We had a pleasant night!
Service was slow. Food was cold. Music was great.
Wow, the gluten free pizza-not the cardboard crust, rather, soft, chewy, a good crunch ratio. So. Damn. Good. While a tad slow the service is friendly, food came out relatively quickly, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. Just wish this small town didn’t go to bed so early-we could’ve easily stayed another hour.
We absolutely love this place! The service is amazing. We are always greeted and welcomed in like old friends. They put TLC into creating your food and cocktails. The owner is very in tune with the customers and staff, which makes for a great experience. I highly reccomend Por wine house and its staff for any and all occasions. Oh, and they also have a venue for private events! I cannot say enough great things about this place. You just have to come and check it out for yourself! Cheers!
Our waiter was horrible and rude. He never checked in on us, he made sarcastic comments, and handed us the computer at the end with no directions. The new place is beautiful, the wine and food is great, but the service is awful. If they could hire good servers it would be perfect.
Very strange - went on the last night before moving locations and it was not great. Had reservations far in advance, but we were sat in the tasting room which didn’t have tables to eat on. We asked to move and the only other table was located in a room without heat. We froze all dinner long. The service was slow; it took a while to order and then one meal was forgotten. On the bright side - the food was tasty.
This unique rustic chic bar/wine house and snack rest. was a terrific experience with a few caveats;
- the Board was awesome
- service is unimpressive
- live music was memorable
- average value; high prices
Our Valentine’s Day celebration with the three-course pre-planned meal and wine pairing was our first experience here. The wines all went nicely and it was fun to compare their taste with and without the food.
The food was delicious and if I want to be really picky I would note that the corn crab jalapeño chowder and braised short ribs, although also delicious, could have been warmer. The beet salad was excellent and the ahi tuna and kale were delicious as well with a beautiful presentation.
We will look forward to going back.
Great service, enjoyed our cocktails and the dessert was delicious. Fun ambience. A little spendy, but nice date night spot.
A cozy and romantic atmosphere with a wonderful menu. The arugula salad was delicious, bacon wrapped dates were amazing, and the cheese and meat board was good. Unfortunately the night we went the service was pretty slow and we ordered a mulled wine that never came and finally the manager came over to say that “it wasn’t prepared” which meant they didn’t have it. We ordered a bruschetta that took more than 20 minutes to arrive and then it was burnt. Our overall experience was positive though.
