Very farm-to-table feeling and gluten-free friendly.
We could hardly hear/se the music... Missing the cozyness from the last location :(
Food and wine is always amazing!
The server, very tall and new, was excellent, polite and friendly!
We had a pleasant night!
Service was slow. Food was cold. Music was great.
Wow, the gluten free pizza-not the cardboard crust, rather, soft, chewy, a good crunch ratio. So. Damn. Good. While a tad slow the service is friendly, food came out relatively quickly, and the atmosphere is fun and lively. Just wish this small town didn’t go to bed so early-we could’ve easily stayed another hour.
We absolutely love this place! The service is amazing. We are always greeted and welcomed in like old friends. They put TLC into creating your food and cocktails. The owner is very in tune with the customers and staff, which makes for a great experience. I highly reccomend Por wine house and its staff for any and all occasions. Oh, and they also have a venue for private events! I cannot say enough great things about this place. You just have to come and check it out for yourself! Cheers!
Our waiter was horrible and rude. He never checked in on us, he made sarcastic comments, and handed us the computer at the end with no directions. The new place is beautiful, the wine and food is great, but the service is awful. If they could hire good servers it would be perfect.
Very strange - went on the last night before moving locations and it was not great. Had reservations far in advance, but we were sat in the tasting room which didn’t have tables to eat on. We asked to move and the only other table was located in a room without heat. We froze all dinner long. The service was slow; it took a while to order and then one meal was forgotten. On the bright side - the food was tasty.
This unique rustic chic bar/wine house and snack rest. was a terrific experience with a few caveats;
- the Board was awesome
- service is unimpressive
- live music was memorable
- average value; high prices
Our Valentine’s Day celebration with the three-course pre-planned meal and wine pairing was our first experience here. The wines all went nicely and it was fun to compare their taste with and without the food.
The food was delicious and if I want to be really picky I would note that the corn crab jalapeño chowder and braised short ribs, although also delicious, could have been warmer. The beet salad was excellent and the ahi tuna and kale were delicious as well with a beautiful presentation.
We will look forward to going back.
Great service, enjoyed our cocktails and the dessert was delicious. Fun ambience. A little spendy, but nice date night spot.
A cozy and romantic atmosphere with a wonderful menu. The arugula salad was delicious, bacon wrapped dates were amazing, and the cheese and meat board was good. Unfortunately the night we went the service was pretty slow and we ordered a mulled wine that never came and finally the manager came over to say that “it wasn’t prepared” which meant they didn’t have it. We ordered a bruschetta that took more than 20 minutes to arrive and then it was burnt. Our overall experience was positive though.
Mary was our server & she was great! We enjoyed the music, too! The cheese plate, which I always order, was very tasty, but the amount of cheese is less than it used to be. Much smaller pieces, and less baguette, as well.
We had a party of 5 in their private loung like loft. It was great for relaxing and having conversation. The food is adventurous and outstanding!
Great little spot for tapas and libations. Enjoyed the mulled wine on a cold evening while chatting with friends and munching on some tasty food. Live music was good, but being such an intimate venue it ratcheted up the volume of the place a little and made speaking a bit more like shouting to compete with the speakers. Still good and would recommend!
The Wine was good but the food was disappointing. Great Service but they do not accept AMEX.
Go for wine not for food.
While the live music was fairly enjoyable it was so loud we couldn’t have a conversation at dinner because we couldn’t hear a thing. Our waiter wasn’t the most friendly. Food and drinks were very good.
Everything was fantastic, the only issue being how incredibly cold it was inside and the doors being open constantly. They had a space heater near our table, but because of the open doors and thin walls, we had to wear our winter coats while eating.
GREAT place when the weather is nice outside!!
They had a live band, so it was loud. But, they were great and the deals on the wine were excellent. Meatballs and bacon wrapped dates were very good!
Came in excited to get mulled wine. Got our table right away but sat around for OVER 10 minutes before a server came by to take our drink order! No apology, no acknowledgment of the oversight. Our server even walked away before we could tell them our food order.
Daughter came from out of town
They accommodate a large group for a birthday and went out of their way to make us happy !
Enjoyed the meat and cheese board. Service was great. Restaurant was a hive of activity and a fun experience.
Service was slow and the place wasn’t very crowded
I have been to Por many times. I don't think I will be back. Terrible service, and we ordered a $30 chef's board (charcuterie), and I swear to you, I am not making this up—it had BOLOGNA on it. I have ordered this board half a dozen times, easily. It has never had bologna on it. The board was pitiful, the portion had diminished from previous purchases, and the server, while not busy, would be unseen for 15 minutes at a time. We were her only table.
You’ll find /Por/ tucked in an alley. Signs lead you relaxing patio dining. Excellent service. Interesting cocktails. Glasses and bootleg of wine. Had warm olives and found them spicy. Loved the ahi tuna nachos which came served like TexMex nachos on a huge platter. These were quite tasty.
Take cash, Visa or MC. The meal is worth every penny. They just don’t accept American Express.
Service was very slow. We were there/seated for an hour and a half and only had one round of wine and two small plates. We wanted to order more but time did not allow. The location was not very busy and appeared to be well staffed, just not urgent. The food was sub par as other reviewers stated. Would not pay full cost for the items (outside of happy hour). Hopefully they can turn some things around as the location and ambiance are wonderful!
Food was cold and had to send back. Ordering took a long time. Server was nice but clearly had too many tables to follow thru on our order and had to ask twice for each request. Below average- would not recommend😬.
Fun place and Johnny O provided some great music! Wine selection is great and prices are fair. My only criticism is the service was slow. Perhaps they were short on help that night and it was busy. I would recommend more help on anticipated busy nights. All said though we love the venue and will be back!
This was a perfect venue to meet up with an old friend. Our waitress (Mary) was wonderful and had a great sense of timing. She knew my friend and I had a lot to catch up on and she did not rush us at all. We both liked the atmosphere and the music was great. I liked that we could still have a conversation as the music played. Overall, this was a great experience. Thanks!
Very disappointed in the food,,,No changes,,,,in the menu, and the food is just about fair,,,,,
Really cute place. Could use some cleaning up, a little dirty and run down.
Service was VERY slow, so don’t be in a rush going here.
The food was a little strange. We had the tuna nachos they were huge and they got soggy very fast. The hummus platter was fine, nothing new or exciting here.
Drinks were good, but bartender was slow.
Had the bone marrow. It was good but would have benefited from some seasoning. Salad was a bit wilted. Server was very friendly and capable.
Waitress had problems with the basics.
We had a lovely happy hour with friends. The wine list was good and the food was delicious. The outdoor seating was comfortable and perfect for the late afternoon.
We were at Por for a graduation celebration. Love the environment, food and amazing selection of wine.
Went to Por Wine House for our third wedding anniversary. Pretty sure our waiter was new. He was very nice and conscientious, though. We had meatballs and bacon-wrapped dates for appetizers and Italiano flatbread pizza as our entree. Appetizers were okay but the pizza was very good. Younger people would probably appreciate the atmosphere more than we did (we’re 63/71), but it was something new to try and we enjoyed it
Mother's day dinner and wine was wonderful. We have a newborn and were accommodated nicely with a back table near the fireplace.
The service was pretty good, but not great here. The atmosphere was quite run down feeling. The owner/manager really was trying hard, but to check on our table wearing a t-shirt with holes near the belly, shorts, and flip flops was very unprofessional. The drinks were good. The bacon wrapped dates were over cooked and dry. The salad was fresh, but sparse. The sliders were quite tasty and nicely presented. The pizza/flatbread was tasty. It was definitely not flat, quite puffy---almost deep dish. We mentioned that we had ordered the Italian meats pizza, as we noticed there was no meat on the pizza. It was later presented to us with a few strips of possibly ham, but perhaps prosciutto --hardly detectable. Not a great experience.
Great live music on the patio.
Really good food. Staff was extremely nice, and helpful but that night did appear a little under staffed, likely a one-off thing. Highly recommend this place
