Wonderful, energetic Capitol Hill resurant. Decor and ambiance were colorful with big windows, and great food. Good location, the usual parking issues. Plenty of vegetarian options.
Food was tasty, and service was excellent! The server's frank advice on what was and wasn't tasty on the seasonal menu was much appreciated, and the cocktails were delicious.
Had brunch everything was good!
A little pricey but the food was delicious. Second visit to this location.
Great margaritas and tacos. Service was timely, friendly and professional. We’ll be back.
Overall we enjoyed our food and experience.
Must try for a dinner.
Food was great. Server was intense felt like he just wanted to turn the table quickly and offered no advice on the menu.
The waiter was pompous in responding to our question on whether the beans were cooked in lard. He said that we should know that they cater to vegans in the City of Seattle. We told him that we were out of town. He also forgot our appetizer and chips. After we reminded him, he apologized and brought the appetizer after serving dinner. He then waived the cost of appetizer and sauce. The hostess also made faces when we asked for a corner table that just became available.
The ambience is lively and the service is good. They have quite a few items on the menu - some traditional Mexican and some with a twist. The pork tacos with pineapple salsa were quite tasty. The chicken soup was nice as well. The coffee was authentic Mexican brew - not bitter or tasteless.
My only complain was that the server checking us in didn't check us in under the Open Table reservation and I received a stinker from Open Table that I had to spend time resolving, waste of time.
Went in for happy hour price but sat in wrong section, so be mindful of pricing difference. Service fast and friendly, really knowledgeable about menu. Would have liked to box my own food as I like to put it all in and not leave anything out. Sage + Papaya margarita is out of this world! Hands down one of my local favorites! Food is absolutely delicious.
Great time. Patient service as one of our party was stuck in horrific traffic. Great food. Service was prompt and very friendly. A nice place to hang with friends.
We had a great dinner at Poquitos. My only negative was that it was National Margarita Day and I was told that all margaritas were half price. I was charged full price for my margarita. Sine i was treating a friend to dinner- I didn't want to seem cheap. So I let it pass. But the server should have made sure that I was charged correctly.
That said- everything else was fabulous! and the server was great. (except for one small thing).
After living in San Diego for a few years, I have had some difficulty finding legit Mex food in the NW and Seattle. Poquitos is about the best we have found. Fresh and authentic flavors were present in all of our dishes. Only compliant is that the food comes very fast (only requires assembly, no real cooking) and servers push you out the door in order to turn tables.
Had the house margaritas and battered fish tacos which were both delicious. Love this place!
The hostess could have been nicer, but the waitress was great
We went to poquitos for Valentine's day. We were seated at a table that was by itself, which was dubbed the true love table. Delicious food and drinks, a very kind server, and complimentary truffles at tree end of the meal created an unforgettable experience!
We felt rush all throughout dinner. The hosted took us to our table and within second the waitress came asking if we were ready to order, she didn’t even gave us a change to look at our menus. And she kept rushing us to order. When our food arrived at the table we were all very disappointed. My brother order the carnitas and before ordering he asked if it was spicy and our waitress said no, but when the food arrived he took a bite and he was done. The carnitas were xtra spicy. Lol my friend and I had the steak tacos and it’s was chunks of fat rather then chunks of steaks. I couldn’t even finished my meal bc the waitress came and took my plate. I had barely eaten a taco, she didn’t even asked if I was done. Then she rush the check to our table practically kicking us out. Overall it was very disappointing. I won’t be going back.
Loved it. Great ambiance, creative, original Mexican food, and really good service. We had dinner with friends after an event at Seattle U. and it was a great choice.
Love Poquitos. Been here many times before. This time however, our waiter was rushed and busy and gave the attitude that he didn’t seem to care that we were there. It was New Year’s Day and we were all having fun so we didn’t bother too much about it. However, in another situation, I may have been a little more irritated.
The service and quality of the food was great. We got a large party of 8 people and the restaurant did provide the food and drinks quickly and with high quality, even it was Dec 31, 2017 and it was crowded.
food was ok. for a place that boasts authentic mexican food ive had much better for much cheaper.
We went Christmas Eve and needed to arrive earlier than our reserved time.
As always, staff was very friendly and accommodating, and the food quite tasty.
First to arrive. Place was quiet and quaint while we ate. All 7 of us. The space is nice. Spacious for large parties. The food is so,so. Biscuits and gravy—biscuits are huge and too dry. Flatter makes more sense for gravy to biscuit ratio. Breakfast bowl was so,so. Potatoes were over cooked and under salted. Tomato sauce was better with condiments added. Pancake was super doughy but the nuts and toppings were super good. Fish tacos were the best. Heuvos Rancheros sauce had a good flavor. Next time I will stick with the Mexican food for sure.
Loved the food - excellent as always! Our waiter (I'm ashamed that I can't think of his name at the moment...Dan?) made our time at Poquitos especially good - he was attentive, provided excellent recommendations and was highly entertaining - he put the experience over the top for all of us.
I made reservations online and asked for a special romantic area for the set plus guacamole and chips and two drinks. As I walked in I gave the lady my name she watch me ride over to a really special corner seat and there was was my order it what I asked for. The weather came up we get more food order within 35 seconds literally our food shut up it was the fastest order I’ve ever experienced. The weather was amazing really nice for two people with two orders of drinks plus guacamole and chips And dinner for two I walked away with about $85. It was perfect love the whole vibe
Great service and environment, great drinks and good food. Steak a little fatty and chips a little stale. Still a good time! Get the coco-Rita!
Brunch! Food was just okay but so affordable and mimosas come in carafes
Excellent and authentic Mexican food with a creative, varied menu. But if you're NOT a fan of spicy Mexican, your choices will be quite limited. Almost everything on the menu has a little 🌶 next to it indicating heat. The half chicken and black beans was excellent and not spicy, and I think the Baja fish tacos aren't spicy. Pretty sure almost everything else is. The guacamole is excellent, and they offer a regular one or an alternative that changes. The one they had the night we were there had cranberries and mint, which didn't try.
I found the drinks to be on the expensive side and the food was served warm.
Never a bad time and the food is always delicious!
As is the trend with most restaurants in Seattle right now, pretty noisy, so it's hard to hear people at the other end of the table. That's a negative...
I have been here in the past years several times. It had been awhile and we had felt like Mexican. My margarita was delicious. The half size order of guacamole appeared was really just a personal serving. My carnitas meat was the weak point of the meal. Just bland. My daughter liked her meal. The price point is such that one would expect every part of it to be spot on.
Large group easily accommodated with vegitarian offerings
Had a nice meal but nothing special. Service was ok with breaks in attention. Food a little salty.
It's difficult to believe that a restaurant today doesn't have somebody that can pick up the phone and talk to you when you call. This is a MUST, and a real problem for a service oriented business. I attempted to make reservations for a party of 8 business associates that were in town. The process, per a recorded message, asked me to fill out a form, and "I'd get a response within 48 hours". We were looking for a dining option in the next 2 hours. The host was indignant when we arrived, and indicated, "The form says we'll let you know within 48 hours." How about, "Oh, we're sorry, we didn't pick it up yet." Better yet, PICK UP THE PHONE WHEN IT RINGS. Food was fair, Overall experience was LOW, after our introductory experience when we arrived.
Most everything met expectations! The only bummer was the inability to order the one (vegan) option on the dinner menu at 4pm. Only the happy hour menu was available from 3-5p ☹️
Great Food - SPICY! and good Happy Hour. Love the location.
The food was NOT good, except for the deconstructed cheesecake. It was my boyfriend's birthday and his carne asada was grizzly and undercooked, not even sliced. The waiter never checked back to see how our meal was, the fish tacos were bland and barely contained any fish and I was given no salsa to add flavor. The coconut moose tasted like air. All in all, a pretty disappointing birthday dinner. We won't be back.
I would have rated this place 5 stars but the service wasn't up to my par. I had to wait 35 minutes just to order my drink and my dinner came before my drink. The waitress put my food order in and was supposed to come back to get my drink order and just ignored me every time I tried to wave her down.
Otherwise the place has good food and good drinks just not worthy of five star service.
They couldn't make a taco salad for my teammate
