The Popponesset Inn at New Seabury, just yards away from the coastline, offers sweeping views of Nantucket Sound and Martha's Vineyard. The Inn itself is a 50-year-old restored Cape Cod style restaurant that offers lighter fare in a relaxed setting and a 200-seat tented oceanfront facility for weddings and private functions.

The building itself was the Officer's Club for the Otis Air Force Base in the late forties.

Cape Cod residents and vacationers have long enjoyed the spectacular view and fabulous cuisine at this very special spot.

Had a fantastic time dining out at the Popponesset Inn. The grilled peach salad and baked stuffed lobster were fantastic. The view was amazing and our server was kind, knowledgeable and attentive. It had an Olde Cape Cod feeling that is getting harder to find these days. Fabulous!

Our birthday lunch was delightful in every way. We were seated at a window table overlooking the gorgeous ocean and beach, complete with the fragrant and lovely beach roses. We ordered fish & chips and crab cakes along with clam chowder and stuffy appetizers. Everything was perfection in terms of texture, temperature, proportions, and flavor. I highly recommend the very generously portioned sweet potato sweet fries! Our servers were friendly and efficient. Highly recommend this noteworthy restaurant, especially for a special occasion or celebration.

The location and food were were excellent. However, two things took away from the overall experience. The first was that it took FOREVER for the main course to be service. There was about 45 minutes that went by between the time we finished our appetizers and the main course was served. The other issue was the noise level. It was a very noisy restaurant and it was hard to have a conversation with the other people at the table.

Very disappointed with the 5 choices on the ‘4-5’ menu. Had we known we’d be limited to chicken fingers and clam chowder for dinner, wouldn’t have made the reservation.

I have been to Popponesset Inn in years. The setting by the water is very nice. The menu and selection were good, as was the quality food. The clam chowder was excellent.
