Perfect For:
  • Good for a Date
  • Notable Wine List
  • Fun
POP Champagne Bar & Restaurant is a warm and welcoming place where friends gather for good times and where dates enjoy a romantic setting. POP is located in Old Pasadena in a historic building that retains many of its original features — brick walls, plank floors, an open- beam ceiling, and Batchelder tiles.

POP’s dinner menu starts with appetizers like jalapeño tuna tartare and beer-battered vegetables, and goes on to include entrée favorites such as champagne chicken, a morel risotto, and filet mignon with truffle mashed potatoes. It also includes salads, cheese and charcuterie platters, and small plates such as pommes frites and a seasonal soup. Our much-praised dessert menu presents classics such as crème brûlée and a soufflé du jour, as well as inventive temptations such as a Meyer lemon tart with homemade basil ice cream. All of our offerings are made in-house, including our breads.

POP has a wonderful champagne and sparkling wine list (as well as interesting wine and beer) and the best part is the wait staff REALLY knows the list and was very helpful We all ended up with something wonderful to drink. Food is excellent. We ordered appetizers continuously until filled! It is cozy. Because some of the seating is not real suitable for larger folks or if you plan on having multiple appetizers and need table top space, ask if a booth is available. Or ask for one when you reserve with OPEN TABLE. GREAT evening.

Great dining experience. Quality food and expansive alcohol selection. Will have to go again to take advantage of the happy hour pricing.

This was my first visit to Pop Champagne. My husband and I went there to celebrate our 7 year wedding anniversary. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable of wine & champagne food pairing. Our waiter could’ve checked in with us a little more often. We loved the jazz & the decor. They have jazz on Thursday & Sunday evenings. The cheese & charcuterie platter was good, pretty filling. Gluten free entree choices were limited. They had also run out of the chicken and salmon, which was surprising since it was only 6:30 pm and there were not that many people in the restaurant. We will return, but not to have dinner. We’ll come for wine, cheese & jazz! Or champagne, dessert & jazz! I’m also a little disappointed that our waiter didn’t acknowledge our anniversary. The previous week we visited a few hotels & restaurants in DTLA for an early anniversary staycation and all of them acknowledged our anniversary and even gave us complimentary wine or dessert. They made us feel special. I didn’t feel that way at Pop. Also, bring a sweater or jacket because if you sit near a vent the a/c blows very hard. It’s uncomfortable and your food gets cold right away. We asked the hostess to turn down the a/c, but that didn’t happen. We finally ended up requesting to move tables and that was much better, but a little too late as we were having dessert by then.

My family and I went to POP to celebrate my birthday! This was a great experience with the champagne, food and the staff! The owner, chef and wait staff took pictures with is and just made us feel very welcome. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a nice yet different food experience!

Food and dessert excellent, restaurant and bathrooms clean and inviting. Would come back again just for food and dessert. The one thing that brought my experience down was our server who was hard to flag down at times. I never received a refill on my water and would have tried other drinks on the menu after I finished my first one if I had the chance. Note to management, the place is great and the variety and quality of menu are spot on, just get better servers that can be more attentive to their tables.

The food and price is great but the servers were pretty rude. We had to call them each time for anything. At first we waited at least more then 20 min just order glass of water

Chilaquiles were excellent, veggie omelette tasted like sausage-but it was good, trout eggs benedict were just ok.
Tasty buffet spread with good variety.
Waiter was attentive, but too few waiters which delayed him checking in with us - not his fault.

The food was good but a bit overpriced for what you get. I wasn’t blown away by it. I’d be willing to try their brunch in the future but most likely won’t go back for dinner.

My husband and I wanted to celebrate an important occasion by having brunch at this place. It seemed really nice, we've walked by POP countless times since we live in the area and the food looked amazing. Unfortunately, we were hugely disappointed with the service and "priority" of patronage.... and I'm not sure there's really an excuse here that makes it right. We waited a solid hour for food that never made it to the table (was always coming in the next 3 minutes...). We did not have breakfast because we knew we were having a hearty brunch.

After asking twice and watching a party of 30 people get fed first for an hour we decided our time was best spent elsewhere for brunch (because now it was lunch anyway). We asked for the check for just the bottomless mimosa that everyone else was having... maybe it was wishful thinking to receive it complimentary relative to the service received, but we gave them $20 anyway and left it at that. The most important "tip" I can leave here are for the hosts:

If you knew you had a large party reserved and your chef(s) is still unable to keep up with more than half the available seating capacity's food order it is best to make your patron aware of it ahead of time. Time is so valuable and even this small notification would make for happier customers even with the wait.

POP likely doesn't deserve a one-star, but there's a lesson to be learned here and only then would we give this place another shot!

Worst, we ordered the soufflé ahead of time. Knowing our dessert was already in the process, we ordered more desserts and drinks because the soufflé was confirmed at the time available. We made this clear we wanted the soufflé at the beginning. While delivering the drinks and other desserts out to the table, we are then notified that there are no more soufflés. We felt obligated to stay as there was extra orders were brought to the table. Unsatisfied, of course we’ll return but this restaurant is far from 4 star service.

Valentine's Day date prix fixe menu was expensive, but deliciously tasty.
Service was attentive at the table but hard to get him to come to the table.
Even with the night's live singer it was a quiet environment, allowing us to talk.
Overall we'd be happy to return.

Enjoyed the food very much, from the nuts and olives appetiser to the sliders we shared, each with a unique taste. And the topper? Cookies & Cream Souffle!
Service was a bit slow, though, and the ambience is play.

Attended for the DineLA event with prefix menu. Service was ok, nothing special. However, the food was exceptional. Champagne butter chicken was to die for! Champagne flight was great too.

A cute restaurant for special occasions, not so much every day evening dining.

First timer at POP. The ambiance eas really cute. We were there early and were seated at this corner with no room. When we asked the waiter if we can move to a booth which was empty he have this rude response "I guess..its super dead right now anyway just move your drinks" I thought that was a bit rude. Anywho the food was good. I got the Mac and cheese and my mom got the champagne chicken. All in all the place is cute. I would say try it out and you be tge judge.

Went here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. She loves Champagne! This place did not disappoint! Beautiful, quiet setting with chandeliers. Service was amazing thanks to Spencer our waiter! Food was delicious and we were very lucky to have went when they were having the Dine LA menu, so we got to taste a little bit of everything! Champagne chicken was amazing and my friend said the Jalepeno Tuna Tartare, was incredible. I didn't have a drink , but she ordered a flight of champagne, again, amazing!! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!!

Food has been great every time I've been there. Service is friendly and they take great care of their customers. Their souffle dessert menu (a different flavor every night) is posted online with their menus, so you can pick a night based on your favorite flavor for dessert. (I miss the Irish Car Bomb dessert, but the right souffle can certainly make up for it.)
The place is small and frequently full, so definitely make a reservation!
