My husband and I wanted to celebrate an important occasion by having brunch at this place. It seemed really nice, we've walked by POP countless times since we live in the area and the food looked amazing. Unfortunately, we were hugely disappointed with the service and "priority" of patronage.... and I'm not sure there's really an excuse here that makes it right. We waited a solid hour for food that never made it to the table (was always coming in the next 3 minutes...). We did not have breakfast because we knew we were having a hearty brunch.
After asking twice and watching a party of 30 people get fed first for an hour we decided our time was best spent elsewhere for brunch (because now it was lunch anyway). We asked for the check for just the bottomless mimosa that everyone else was having... maybe it was wishful thinking to receive it complimentary relative to the service received, but we gave them $20 anyway and left it at that. The most important "tip" I can leave here are for the hosts:
If you knew you had a large party reserved and your chef(s) is still unable to keep up with more than half the available seating capacity's food order it is best to make your patron aware of it ahead of time. Time is so valuable and even this small notification would make for happier customers even with the wait.
POP likely doesn't deserve a one-star, but there's a lesson to be learned here and only then would we give this place another shot!
Fun and very good. The dessert bar was excellent.
Good food, worst service I have had in a while. The service was so bad it ruined my wife’s birthday.
Omgosh everyone was lovely- best birthday ever!
The deviled eggs were my favorite (especially the truffle chive). The champagne chicken was very moist and tender. Overall a very good dining experience.
POP always delivers. Great food that always tastes fresh and inventive. Loved the live jazz on Thursday night. It's a cozy gem in Old Pasadena that never disappoints.
The food was fresh & delicious. We went with a group of eight everybody ordered something different and we got to taste a variety of food. The beer and wine was also very good.
Good food and nice staff make it a pleasant place to eat.
It’s a great place for friends to meet and chat. Also it’s has a cute dining place cozy and fun. Food portion are great price is great too. I enjoyed it.
Went on a Wedn night. Place was quiet, no reservation needed but made one just in case. Not knowing what to expect, the food was surprisingly good. Waiter staff was friendly. Recommend it highly.
We made the reservation at 9:45pm, but when we arrived the restaurant is closed.
Great Customer Service
Worst, we ordered the soufflé ahead of time. Knowing our dessert was already in the process, we ordered more desserts and drinks because the soufflé was confirmed at the time available. We made this clear we wanted the soufflé at the beginning. While delivering the drinks and other desserts out to the table, we are then notified that there are no more soufflés. We felt obligated to stay as there was extra orders were brought to the table. Unsatisfied, of course we’ll return but this restaurant is far from 4 star service.
Amazing service, delicious peach bellinis. Brunch Saturday and Sunday 10-2.
My boyfriend and I always have such a great time at POP. We came for their Valentine's Day dinner and the food was great! They had a fixed 3 course fixed menu which was delicious and live music for that romantic touch.
Valentine's Day date prix fixe menu was expensive, but deliciously tasty.
Service was attentive at the table but hard to get him to come to the table.
Even with the night's live singer it was a quiet environment, allowing us to talk.
Overall we'd be happy to return.
Great ambiance, Deserts w/knowledgeable staff. A bit over priced & the food left something to be desired. 3 out of 5
The service was excellent. The server was very knowledgeable and hospitable. The singer on Thursdays is amazing as well.
Enjoyed the food very much, from the nuts and olives appetiser to the sliders we shared, each with a unique taste. And the topper? Cookies & Cream Souffle!
Service was a bit slow, though, and the ambience is play.
First time trying out
service was exceptionally slow on a tuesday night, & no consideration for the birthday occasion.
dineLA good experience.
Attended for the DineLA event with prefix menu. Service was ok, nothing special. However, the food was exceptional. Champagne butter chicken was to die for! Champagne flight was great too.
A cute restaurant for special occasions, not so much every day evening dining.
First timer at POP. The ambiance eas really cute. We were there early and were seated at this corner with no room. When we asked the waiter if we can move to a booth which was empty he have this rude response "I guess..its super dead right now anyway just move your drinks" I thought that was a bit rude. Anywho the food was good. I got the Mac and cheese and my mom got the champagne chicken. All in all the place is cute. I would say try it out and you be tge judge.
Loved it and would come again, for sure. Service was great but a little slow. Fox was amazing!!
Went here with a friend to celebrate her birthday. She loves Champagne! This place did not disappoint! Beautiful, quiet setting with chandeliers. Service was amazing thanks to Spencer our waiter! Food was delicious and we were very lucky to have went when they were having the Dine LA menu, so we got to taste a little bit of everything! Champagne chicken was amazing and my friend said the Jalepeno Tuna Tartare, was incredible. I didn't have a drink , but she ordered a flight of champagne, again, amazing!! I would definitely recommend this to a friend!!
Granted our server was alone and he valiantly tired to salvage our brunch, everything came out cold and wasn’t worth the $25. This places definitely seems better suited for just dessert.
We love everything except the steak not too great😘
Normally I don't like to drink sparkling wine nor champagne. But this was the first time I tried this place and ordered sweet sparkling wine....Love it.
For sure will go back with friends
Food has been great every time I've been there. Service is friendly and they take great care of their customers. Their souffle dessert menu (a different flavor every night) is posted online with their menus, so you can pick a night based on your favorite flavor for dessert. (I miss the Irish Car Bomb dessert, but the right souffle can certainly make up for it.)
The place is small and frequently full, so definitely make a reservation!
People stop at "Pop Champagne Bar" and tend to miss the "& Restaurant" part, but should not. Excellent Champagne (of course!) and other fermented beverages list, but the food, from appetizers and salads to full meals, is always creative and delicious. And don't miss dessert! They have a dedicated (in more ways than one) dessert chef, and it shows in the quality. And they have live entertainment on Thursdays and Saturdays. Do NOT miss Inbar Horowitz, who plays roughly every other Thursday. What a voice!
We were recommended by Pasadena locals and were pleasantly surprised that our New Years eve dinner was perfection, with 5 star service!
Already recommended to a few people and it's only the 3rd of January.
You will see us again Pop C!
Great way to ring in the New Year
We attended Pop early on New Years Day. It was nice that there were very few people in the restaurant. I wouldn’t make an effort to return. It was average food, quality and service.
Great New Years Dinner. Excellent service and atmosphere.
Absolutely one of the best. We've been coming here since they opened and have never been disappointed. The food is delicious and the Champagne option are vast. The service is excellent and it has a lovely ambience. Charming.
I’ve been to Pop a few times and I’ve always had a great time. I wish the wine menu included more French reds, though.
Friends from out of town!
This place is AMAZING and the food was SUPER GOOD and the dessert OH man i think i know what heaven taste like
