Pond House Cafe Ratings and Reviews
The food at The Pond House is always delicious and ever-changing which makes each visit unique. Our server Kyle was (once again) incredibly gracious and helpful with his recommendations and is an absolute delight. Ask for him by name in your reservation , you will not be disappointed in the service or the food.
As I have written in previous reviews, the food and service were both excellent, as they have always been in the past. The food was high quality, nicely prepared and quite delicious. The portions were also generous. The table that we sat at, which was next to the windows, was spacious, comfortable and very relaxing. We have enjoyed many meals at the Pond House for both lunch and dinner, including such entrees as braised short ribs, Osso Bucco, meatloaf, salmon, the Pond House burger with fries, their house salad as well as mac and cheese. The Pond House is a great restaurant with a great variety of different type of entrees. We recommend this restaurant and will definitely go back again.
The food was original and handcrafted. Loved the apple chutney with corn bread and the Green Goddess omelet was delicious and unique. I wouldn't have thought to put brussels sprouts in an omelet but it was yummy. The flourless chocolate cake with raspberry sauce was decadent. Perfect place for an afternoon birthday brunch!

Saturday evening - 8:00 pm -- they accepted our last-minute reservation which was good.
Atmosphere and food very nice - a little $$$ for the amount of food given - but quality food.
Hostess was good - however - our server was not. She greeted us with all smiles -- but her attentiveness to our table afterwards was slow and lacking. Other servers eventually stepped in to bring us what we needed.
Unfortunately - you judge service by your primary server - and the women serving us did not leave a good impression.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. Although sometimes it can get a bit noisy, in general The Pond House is a wonderful place for lunch or dinner. I've not been there on a Sunday, so cannot comment on lunch or brunch. And since we aren't drinkers, I cannot comment on the wine list. We don't often sit in the terrace room, but we did last weekend, and it was toasty warm and comfortable. In the warm weather months, it's especially lovely. The food is always good--sometimes very very good--and the staff is cheerful and helpful.
Sooooo good! We just had a special occasion brunch before a matinee show at Infinity Hall. The food was excellent and the service was exceptional. Noteworthy dishes: apple and brie omelette, Katz Deli omelette, and the special oatmeal raisin cookie crusted french toast. Linda, our server made sure we enjoyed our experience from start to finish. The cafe manager, Monica, went above and beyond to address a food allergy, allaying all concerns. Everyone in our party, from 30 year old to 87, enjoyed the food, atmosphere and service. Truly great start to a special day.
This was our second visit to Pond House. We very much enjoyed the small plates. It gave us the opportunity to try new foods and food we love. We will definitely be back. The specials that are offered on certain days are fun and simply awesome. The bread with oil and balsamic vinegar I could eat all day long. We truly enjoyed our unique bacon vinaigrette on our salad. The meatloaf is divine and we absolutely loved the flatbread. The drink selections are great too. I had a Pond House cocoa with a shot of Captain and it was awesome, especially with the marshmallow on top for a cold night! We look forward to returning for yet another date night and trying something new.
Ordered the kale and brussel sprout salad with chicken. The salad was drenched in the dressing, and under the chicken was a large mass of the dressing that hadn't been mixed in. It was served in a bowl that made it impossible to mix it. I was able to eat only 1/2 of the salad. It was a busy day, given the holiday, and our wait person was gone for long stretches of time, didn't come to refill water glasses, or hot water for tea. It will be awhile before I'm interested in returning.
This was our first Sunday Brunch at the Pond House though we've gone for dinner several times. We were celebrating a recent family wedding with the happy couple. The service and food were outstanding, the noise (we were seated in the larger function room vs. the dining room) was mitigated by the drawn curtain separating the room (a plus); our guests were in from NYC and loved it. The server happily took our photo in front of one of the Christmas Trees (love the holiday decor!) before we left. Ideal experience!
The atmosphere with the holiday decorations were beautiful.
We love the Pond House - but I have to say this visit the food was mediocre - just overall the flavors were not as good as in past - i ordered a burger with cheese and bacon - the bacon was overlooked and the melted cheese was not melted.
I had loved this place for brunch, lunch or dinner, but lately service and food has been off. Food arrived barely warm, cheese omelet with cheese not even melted, cornbread frozen in the middle. Everyone friendly, but amateur hour, as though it was their first time working this job.
Very disappointed, especially having told my guest how great it was.
This group of friends gets together once a year between Thanksgiving and Christmas. We always come here even though we live all over the state. It just works well for us and no one bothered us about the fact that we were there three hours. Finally left when the lights went on!
I had the Salmon Nicoise which had all the key ingredients but...wasn't put together in a flavorful way. All ingredients were ice cold. Salmon should have been warm at least. Potatoes were cold. Should have been dressed separately. My guest had a grilled cheese. The plate came with no salad on the side (as requested) but should have had SOMETHING to dress up the plate. The dessert, a flourless cake with berries was not appealing and came with 4 blackberries only. This dessert uses 4 ingredients only but yours was drab and dry. I've made desserts for restaurants for 24 years. This was a disappointment.
Have come here every year for Holiday Lunch with a client. She loves the Pond House. Food is very good and atmosphere is great. Love the décor. However I would say our service this year was fair. Waitress was unable to answer our questions on a couple of simple things that she should have already known. Also she was not very attentive - and we were there early so it was not busy.
