Pon Thai Bistro
Our careful application of the trinity of sauces--fish sauce, oyster sauce, and soy sauce--with a touch of palm sugar, and requisite heat, provides a base level of complexity and depth of flavor across a spectrum of dishes, allowing for greater control and speed in the kitchen. Our flavor profile also makes for rich, satisfying food without being heavy, or using a lot of fat.
Head Chef Sivika "Pon" Hunter is classically trained in French cuisine and sauces but remains grounded in her native Thai cuisine. The merging of these two distinct styles makes our menu a uniquely delicious treat.
First time at the restaurant. Food and service was very good.
Was able to find parking. Would go again.
We had a great dinner, really out of the ordinary dishes with incredible flavor!
Amazing Thai food! Best owner in town too!! See you in Austin
We make it a point to go to Pon Thai Bistro when we are in Boston (once to twice per year). Super friendly staff and the food is excellent - a real treat in freshness! Also the Pon Thai Gimlet is a must!
Great food. Lots of people not so many servers. Small pours on the wine. Would recommend.
Small, intimate dining experience. Good size dinner portions, delicious meals!
Lovely staff and good food
I'm so glad I found this place. The food was fresh and delicious. If you're a martini person, I highly recommend getting their lychee martini. The service was also fantastic.
Creatiive appetizers with excellent Thai standards and then specialty items too. Perfect curries with duck as an option for most dishes. Great value! Small place so make a reservation on weekends!
Excellent food, helpful server for gluten free diner, pleasant surroundings. The coconut soup was terrific, again, and the multiple entrees and aps including chicken satay and others we had were all really good. The server inquired about the level of spiciness we wanted which was good. Our friends were happily impressed and we and they will definitely be returning. Thanks for being here !
We went for dinner on a weeknight. The restaurant was not full, so it was relatively quiet.
Service was excellent, and the food was delicious. Will definitely return!
Pon is always fresh and delicious. She serves authentic Thai cuisine that is always fresh and delicious. Duck rolls, spring rolls and curries are especial favorites. Oh, the hangar steak, too if you want beef.
I love this restaurant. The service is excellent, the food is exquisite
and I'm so happy I found this neighborhood gem in Brookline Village!
Great food - very fresh, not too much sauce flavors really popped!
Not everyone was completely pleased with food spices. I had basil eggplant, mild, mine was pretty good, but I wish I had more seasoning. It was a little too understated for my tastes. Pad thai, the wish was more peanut flavor and peanuts. Lobster rangoon, barely a hint of lobster. Overall, decent thai and good quality ingredients, but wouldn't run back immediately.
Servers are outstanding service. They are very friendly. Food was very good.
Food is delicious, friendly service, would go back
server was rude; staff made a big deal over a simple request for steamed shrimp and vegetables will not return
We have been to Pon many times. We live in the neighborhood. The food is always great and the service is friendly and fast. The menu is limited, and does not change much but we love good Thai food and that's what Pon providesl
Nicely prepared food and large portions. noisy but good atmosphere.
Service was efficient and pleasant.
Food is excellent. Service was good. Our only issue is that it is very noisy. It was hard to hear the conversation.
i’ve been twice now and both times were great! making a reservation is a must but easy to do. Delicious and spicy!
We had a lovely table in the window, excellent friendly service and wonderful food beautifully prepared.
Came at recommendation of a friend. I really enjoyed my meal which was the drunken noodles. They are spicy. I also tasted and enjoyed my friend's selection of ginger chicken. Portions are plentiful, price is right. Our bill came to $49 which included an appetizer, martini and 2 entrees (including tax). All round pleasant and enjoyable experience.
We love Thai food! Any city we are in we seek to find a Thai restaurant to try. We are from Chicago where we enjoy excellent Thai. The food at Pon Thai Bistro was at the same level. Next time we are in town, we will be sure to visit again.
Very pleasant experience. Both drinks and food are very flavorful and tasty. Portions of main dishes are quite large and almost enough for 2 people.
The restaurant had a very good menu and the portions were large, however it's more important to have quality, not quantity. My dinner (beef dish) was so bad that every piece of beef was too tough to chew and I took home and and had to throw out more than half of what I ordered. In addition,, even the noodles we're way overcooked much software than mash potatoes. I'm sorry that I spent over 60 dollars and will never go back unless I want the worst Thai meal I've ever had in over 30 years. I only hope another Thai restaurant opens in Brookline after this one goes out of business for using and serving inferior food.
Loved our meal! Seemed like the kind of genuine Thai I remember having years ago--not greasy, but light, full of flavor and interest. Delicious! And wonderful, fast service. Tables are close together, so this might not be your romantic dinner, unless you request a table by the window. Cosy, intimate atmosphere.
I thought the food and service was very good. It was a bit on the expense side, but still affordable.
Fantastic! There was a table set aside for us, the food was DELICIOUS. I had the Phad See-Ew, and it was to die for. I do not exaggerate when I say it was one of the best courses I’ve ever had the pleasure of eating, absolutely perfect. The service was very kind, refilling our water plenty of times but at the same time, giving myself and my date time to chat.
I’d be hard pressed to find a more pleasurable dining experience anywhere. Wonderful!
A must if your in the mood for excellent Thai food. The duck is to die for and the staff is excellennt.
authentic, well-prepared food in a comfortable not too loud atmosphere. great place to dine with friends and hear what they are saying.
THE DUCK ROLLS!!! A must have! They're a little bit spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. The portions are large, and we ordered an appetizer with 2 entrees (for 2 of us). The leftovers were delicious, but we could've ordered less. Nice service.
The food was delicious and looked beautiful also. The service was wonderful. I went on a weekday for an early lunch with a friend and the place was very quiet. I highly recommend it!
The food and service could not have been better. I wish I lived closer as I would eat there at least weekly.
Excellent food. Very large servings.
Great food, wonderful flavors. Pon Thai is one place we can always count on to deliver a delicious meal.
Excellent food, I love the salmon - my go to dish!
Excellent food & welcoming atmosphere, as always!
The online reservation app worked well.
Thank you for your hospitality. That is the element which turns fine food into fine dining.
I will definitely be coming back to this restaurant! So yummy! The drunken noodles were amazing. Huge portions, as well.
