We live in Westchester and our daughter and her family live near Pomodoro. We eat there as often as we can. The s time it was better than ever.
Nice neighborhood restaurant, attentive and friendly staff, excellent food. Busy but not too noisy, tight seating, but not uncomfortable. Just a wonderful experience.
Terrific food, wine and service. Easy walk to Lincoln Center
The food was simply delicious and the service outstanding even thought it was a very busy night.
very friendly, accomodating place with solid, tasty food, nice wait staff, pleasant atmosphere.
I hadn't been to this neighborhood gem in a while but glad I chose it to for a dinner celebration with my friend. The ambiance is warm and cozy. The staff was attentive throughout our dinner. We both had delicious pasta dishes and shared salad and dessert. The food was great. My advance request for a birthday candle and song was honored and executed beautifully. Highly recommend.
I always enjoy this restaurant. The food is consistently good, with good service and pleasant surroundings....and just a 10 minute walk from Lincoln Center
My favorite home cooked meal on the UWS!😋
Service is fantastic. Food is delicious. Everyone was super happy. Would go here again for sure. Went here before show at Lincoln center.
Food was delicious and service was great!! Will definitely be coming back!
Always great food and wonderful service here!
I had the best dinner. We had a party of 6 and everyone loved there food and service. I would definitely make it a point to eat here again.
Four of us enjoyed a fine meal. The salads and burrata were a promising start, and the pastas and chicken parm were so good! We will be back, for sure.
Food was exceptionally good. Service was timely as we were going to Lincoln Center. Hosts were gracious.
We have been to this restaurant many times when we come into the City. It is our first choice. Love the neighborhood as well. The atmosphere and food are excellent.
Love this place. Food is great. Service is great ! I go for regular dining and special occasions for over 20 years now.
Food was ok. We split the fettuccini with bolognese sau
We discovered Pomodoro Rosso on our last trip to NYC and it’s a safe bet to say it will be a must for all future visits! The service was exceptional, with the manager making several trips to our table to double check that we had everything we needed. The small restaurant was packed with what appeared to be a lot of locals- which is always a good sign. Chicken pesto gnocchi was excellent! Chicken parm was delicious!
It was lovely and they accommodated all 6 of us. I highly recommend it.
food was amazing and great service and the employees made you feel like you were part of the family
Fabulous neighborhood restaurant. Food is consistently delicious. Service is always prompt and friendly.
The ambiance is warm and welcoming.
God. Is delicious. Very nice atmospkeree
Never disappoints. Brought an out-of-town visitor who enjoyed it. Was even quiet at lunch enabling us to have a business discussion.
Very good Italian food. Pretty brick wall and nice ambiance. Service was friendly and excellent. Great place to spend a romantic evening.
This is a neighborhood gem. The food is always outstanding and the service excellent. They make you feel special and comfortable
The food is good but doesn’t justify the prices.
Great service , coupled with diverse selection of great dishes, with a host that makes a great dining experience and well worth the meal.
Rude manager. The reservation does not work.
New year’s eve
Pomodoro Rosso was a wonderful choice for our New Year’s Eve dinner. The service was terrific. We were warmly greeted by the maitre d’ who found us a comfortably located table. Our waitress was solicitous, as was the other dining room staff. My husband especially enjoyed his Moretti Rosso beer, a selection not offered at other restaurants. The daily specials were truly special, pork Milanese with fettuccine Alfred for my husband and sautéed chicken with artichoke hearts and mushrooms in a white wine sauce with vegetables for me. For dessert we shared the enormous Italian sundae. Portions were large enough to take home leftovers for the next day. The atmosphere in the restaurant was warm and friendly and we were happy to chat with people at nearby tables. Pomodoro Rosso is a reliable favorite of ours.
Great new year's eve dinner. Reservations promptly honored. Restaurant was busy but service was great. Having the owner there overseeing things makes for a great experience. Food was delicious. Neighborhood gem of many years.
Never, and I do mean never, disappoints!!! Have been coming here for years - am hooked on their veal. Highly recommend Pomodoro Rosso.
In NYC for a getaway. Pomodoro was wonderful. Cozy, friendly and delicious.
Quaint, authentic, Italian cuisine in a great neighborhood. Calamari was perfectly cooked and served with marinara sauce (the way it should be). Papparadelle pasta and chicken parmigiana was outstanding.
Good food. Great service. Highly recommend it.
Pasamos la noche buena y estuvo todo muy bien. Lo único flojo fue el postre Lava Cake, que podría estar mejor.
We've been coming here for years and it's always crowded, always noisy and always good. Disappointment this time with veal piccata (overcooked), but the swordfish special with scallops and shrimp was probably the best thing I've ever had, there. We always order the burrata. It's the best I've had, anywhere (and I've tried it everywhere). The tricolore salad was a little bland, but that's to my liking. I imagine it would not be everyone's favorite.
Service is always friendly, if a bit frenetic. Water glasses never have a chance to sit empty, but you might have to ask twice for another cup of coffee. It was also Christmas Eve, so I'm inclined to give some slack to staff.
What concerns me is cleanliness. The bathrooms are always dirty and a mess and obviously not looked after. Hopefully, the old adage that a restaurant kitchen is only as clean as its bathroom is untrue. There was also a giant puddle of water in front of the bar that you had to walk through, to get to your table. Nobody cleaned it up and nobody seemed concerned that someone might take a header.
The front door is a bit crazy when multiple guests arrive simultaneously and you might be ignored for a few minutes, but nobody is unfriendly.
My quibbles are not enough to stop me going back again and again (sometimes multiple times in a week). Prices are reasonable ($25-30 entrees with pizzas half that).
We had a lovely dinner here. The food was excellent as was the service and it wasn't too noisy! My only negative is that the tables are very close together and I was bumped by other visitors.
Post ballet, awesome walkable, super authentic choice. And we eat a ton of Italian. Thank you.
Family came to holidays...
