We were just looking for a decent place to grab dinner before a show at The Nectar - and decided to give Pomerol a try. REALLY glad we did. Our entire experience, from the moment we were greeted until the moment everyone pitched in to try to find my missing credit card later that evening (sigh - in jacket), was what you want from a restaurant. While we didn't get a bottle of wine on this night - their selection was pretty impressive. Our cocktails were very well prepared and delivered surprisingly quickly. More importantly, our food was delicious. It was one of those deals where most in our party wanted to share just how uniquely flavorful each entree was: the steak frites (beautiful char/sear, tender, perfectly cooked ... and the aioli/jam dipping sauce for the fries was the best in memory), the pork chop (seems to be very rare nowadays to find a really tender, juicy, and non-bland piece of pork - this was delightfully far from bland, popping with juicy, fatty pork goodness), and a healthy serving of delicately prepared, lightly buttery/garlicky clams.
Service was as good as anywhere in Seattle. Gracious, knowledgable, somehow choosing only the right moments to check-in with us ... and our party had two front-of-house folks from some of Seattle's best restaurants - who were also impressed.
We'll definitely be back. There are quite a few nice dining options in the area, and it's been easy for us to overlook this one. Glad we finally gave it a try - happy to heartily recommend it to others.
Have eaten here several times. Alway enjoy it. Food is consistently good, service is friendly and and attentive without hovering. Staff always welcoming, seems supportive of each other, and many are long term. One of our very favorite places in Seattle.
The staff are attentive but not annoying. The food was wonderful and the portions generous. We dine out a lot and this now one of our favorites.
Delightful menu and attentive service. Good dinner from start to finish.
Pomerol still feels like a find. RTucked away as it is, on the edge of Fremont. Fablous food from it's small menu. Highly receommend the PORK, perfectly charred yet tender serviced on cauliflower puree. Plus try that potato rosti! You'll always want it.
They do nice food here most of the time. Got one less star from us due to undercooked meat which they couldn't seem to correct this time.
Enjoyable dinner, food was cooked well and nicely plated. It was good.
I just discovered this place for the first time and was pretty impressed. It doesn't look very attractive from the outside but the ambience was quite nice inside. Food was delicious and I will be back. The waitress seemed pretty uninformed about the menu, but it didn't hinder us too badly. The cocktails were very good and so was the wine. The beet salad was delicious, but I asked for it without cheese and it came with cheese anyways. Probably server error, and I feel like this place is a bit of an undiscovered gem, so I'm not going to hold it against them.
Excellent food, drinks and service. My wife and I each had appetizers and entrees and all four were superb. The cocktails we had were great as well. This was our second time to Pomerol and it was even better than the first. Highly recommended.
Great ambiance but food was sub par for price. Pasta seemed to be box pasta not fresh, hard and textureless. Clams were rubbery, foie gras was watery and strange like a barely cooked organ. Trout was very good though.
Food was good but not amazing. Appetizers were on point as were the drinks. Foie gras was phenomenal but Pork Chop a little undercooked (medium rare).
Food was delicious and very plentiful.Server was knowledgeable about the menu items and the service was excellent.
This had been a restaurant on my list for a while. So four of us went out on Saturday night.
We were not disappointed . Started with cocktails. Delicious. Shared 5 plates. All were absolutely wonderful. Loved the octopus and oddly enough even loved the Brussel sprouts!
The Tuna was awesome. The music was not too loud, as some reviews had commented. Loved this place and will definitely go back.
We love this place and have been several times. Small neighborhood spot with good food, extremely helpful staff, and good service. We've never had a bad meal and always leave relaxed having enjoyed good food in a casual, relaxed setting.
Very yummy. Only open for dinner. We stayed there at least 3 hours! The meal was very long, but that was a good thing....just like in Europe. We got a few appetizers. Food was very good and our waiter was so sweet. Will come back again!
Divine carrot soup that almost didn't taste of carrots at all. Scallops with mussel risotto, absolutely awesome!
We'll be back for sure!
Food was well worth it. The staff were kind and knowledgeable of the menu. I would definitely recommend you try the steak frites!
This was such a great find. The food was wonderful, simply creative and very well prepared. We shared small plates and split an entree. We will be back!
We were a party of four. Everything we had was excellent. However, there was only one problem, not serious. My husband and I each ordered chicken liver pate for an appetizer. The portion was so large that we were not able to finish the entree. I would suggest that people share the chicken liver pate. Of course the scallops and some kind of rice (risotto?) I took home made a fabulous lunch the next day.
Great food, we all enjoyed some new tastes. Wonderful
It was wonderful.
We enjoyed our Christmas Eve prix fixe dinner. Delicious plus a steal at $55 for three more than generous servings. We went home with enough leftovers for a second meal. The Thai chili octopus salad was particularly tasty. Delectable prime rib, brined pork and lamb, but don't expect to stick with your diet. A very liberal hand with butter. Service was friendly, efficient and attentive.
The music was heavy metal often . Had to complain a few times. They just put on softer metal. Why do restaurants need music anyway? Is it for the help? Try ear buds. The industry surveys say that most people either don't hear it or they hate it. We come there to relax and have reduced noise and a near quiet dinner. The second team was in the kitchen. Wine came out, then food took a good 30 minutes to get anything.
This is the second time we have eaten here. The food is delicious and the pumpkin soup is amazing!
Our book group had a great time here. The noise level was a bit loud to comfortably here, but we managed okay. Food was excellent, we got good recommendations for cocktails. Service was attentive, but not obsequious.
Always love my experience at Pomerol. Food and service is great. In addition, I order Foie Gras just about every restaurant I find it in, and this is the best one in town!
meats are excellent. great wine list. ambience not so great
A delightful bistro in Fremont. Arugula salad is terrific.
Pomerol is almost perfect. Food is excellent. Wait staff is attentive but not obtrusive. The problem, and it applies to me but not to many people, is that there is only street parking. If we have to park far away it means that my husband has to push me very far. If we go with other people we can be dropped off at the door while the friends parK. I would recommend Pomerol unconditionally to my friends.
Went there for a date night mid week. It was quiet and allowed for very nice conversation. We are both very into the foodie scene and this place really impressed us. We shared 3 appetizers, one main course and a side. This was just the perfect amount of food for the 2 of us. The service was excellent and I only wish that they were located just down the street. The bar itself looked great for happy hour.
Pomerol has a limited menu but the dishes that we had were excellent. We especially loved the starters which included grilled octopus (highly recommended), a delicious pumpkin soup and a beet salad. We were there during Seattle Restaurant week so this may have affected service and ambience. I would have enjoyed more patient, interested attention from the server.
We went during Restaurant week since we have heard about Pomeral but not tried it yet. The pumpkin soup was rich and peppery, the pork was very good. They have a fire grill so excel in the prep of their meats. The desserts were the least interesting, my chocolate dessert was too sweet and made with a milk chocolate instead of dark. On the whole a very good experience.
Food was attractively presented and overall very tasty. The room is industrial minimal, and I guess okay if you like very noisy, I was hoarse after dinner conversation in elevated voice to be heard across the table. No table cloths nor attempt at elegance. Service was at best cursory, and at times most unprofessional. I had to dodge the rear end of the server who often unnecessarily chose to serve by squeezing in between the narrowly spaced tables. Would be overpriced if it had not been for restaurant week.
this is just a gem. Never had a bad meal or service. Great wine list, great cocktails and love the ever changing menu but staying true to their originals. Always happy to go there!!!
A lovely experience, even during busy restaurant week! Unlike many eateries that only offer their cheapest fare during that week, Pomerol was wise enough to showcase some of their best. Their grilled octopus starter was perfection, and both the steelhead trout and pork shank mains were delicious and filling. Service was attentive yet unobtrusive, and their wood beamed ceiling moderated the noise level so all patrons could converse without shouting. We will definitely return, and just hope Pomerol will maintain their high standards as the months go by.
I am sorry , i was just in Paris for 3 weeks. and i was looking forward to a French meal. it was uninspiring. Pumpkin soup tasteless, the "trout" was good, the risotto not so much. The chocolate dessert was just too thick and heavy. our server was boarder line unfriendly. looking away while talking to us. My friend enjoyed it more than i did. i Did not make any comments to her.
My husband and I really enjoyed our meal at Pomerol! Food (grilled octopus and roast chicken), cocktails (Bees Knees) and dessert (bread pudding) were all perfectly prepared and very delicious... My only small complaint was that the drinks and some of the food was a bit slow coming out but this was not a big problem. Service was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. We will be back!
The restaurant week menu surpassed my expectations with flavor and portions. We left full and excited about the experience we just had.
Went for Restaurant week, I had the pork shoulder, was very plentiful and the flavor was great, my husband had the steel-head (trout) this was also cooked very well with great flavors. The pumpkin soup was a delight and the bread pudding for dessert was surprisingly light.
Decent food, a little pricey. Don't get Oysters here, six tiny Oysters smothered in sauce for $17 was pretty disappointing.
