The restaurant is named Pomerol, not for the famous wines, but for the unique, private, family owned properties that are still operated as they were 100 years ago. The town is tiny, the restaurants are excellent and the craftsmanship of the local people is amazing. We hope to bring that same feel with food, wine, and craft cocktails. A place that you can walk in and have some of the best meats cooked over a grill or fresh produce prepared in a simple beautiful presentation.
Excellent. We will definitely come back and enjoy the music, food and ambiance!
We were there on super Tuesday so it was pretty dead but still the service was not overbearing and just the right amount of attentive. The food is modern but impeccably executed with a couple surprising Moroccan dishes To keep it exciting. ( before tagine was lovely).
The food was sub par and I expected it to be tastier.
Staff was courteous and friendly. I like the vegetarian options in the menu as I am a vegetarian. The owner also greets the people around.
The food came out very very slow. And then when it came out, it wasn't very good.
Pomerol is a favorite of ours. The food is always perfectly prepared. I opted for the lamb chops grilled over wood, C opted for the shawarma chicken and the foraged mushrooms.
The good was amazing and they were generous portions! Service was good too!
They would only allow us to order from a special price fixed menu. This menu was not advertised anywhere — not social media, here, or their website.
The food was delicious. Attentive and friendly waitstaff. My dessert was a chocolate tart which had a wonderful crust. Would recommend.
Valentines Day special dinner was superb, delicious and ample....a treat!
We have had a great dinner there before, but this last time was not the best. The service was very slow (I think they were understaffed), our wait staff did not tell us about any of the items not on the menu. We found out that there was a duck Mac & Cheese, that was not on the menu, that was an option (which sounded great), but our wait staff did not inform us of this option. I got the Lamb burger, and it was overcooked, and my wife got the fish special, which was very small (it was the last one of the night).
In general we were disappointed, and it did not live up to our first time with Pomerol. We will wait a while before giving it one more try.
Really nice food and well worth the trip. Our server was very young and very nice, but needs to have someone help him get better at the job. It was really quiet on a Saturday night, which given how good the food is, was odd. Also odd that they had run out of both Fois Gras and Brussel sprouts! + No Exrpresso machine... Come on people you are leaving money on the table and I want to spend it with you! :-)
Great date spot. Delicious roasted beets/feta/mint oil small plate, and one of the best lamb burgers I've ever had!
Terrific. Excellent vegetarian options. Good and friendly service.
As C says, "Pomerol never disappoints." Pomerol is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always perfectly prepared using fresh. locally-sourced ingredients.
1. The first food arrived 50 minutes after ordering.
2. Food is extremely greasy and blend, nothing had a distinctive taste to go back for.
3. Overpriced for what is being served, portion sizes and ingredient quality.
4. Lamb chops were ordered medium cook, they came almost completely raw not even rare. One of the chops was almost %70 ungendered fat, very poor choice or cuts.
5. 2nd entrée with pork chop served with wood dry chop.
6. Owner saw the issues, especially with the lamb chops, but the dish still got charged on the ticket.
7. Almost all the food was left on the dish, weightier didn't care, he didn't ask if there was a problem with the dish to have a chance to improve.
We enjoyed our Seattle Restaurant Week meal at Pomerol. The new owner is adding new accents to the menu. The Swarma chicken appetizer, heavy with chickpeas, was very filling and the pork chop with apricot was excellent. We had the chocolate espesso pudding and the bread pudding, both tasty, but the bread pudding was my favorite.
Nice beet salad.
The restaurant was fine but not memorable. Food was okay and ambiance was casual.
Not totally convinced I would go back. The food was fine and well prepared. However, the service was mediocre at best. They took forever to serve me my drink (at least 20 minutes); and then started bringing the other courses we ordered before we had finished the previous one. Very nice atmosphere and lighting, though.
Went there for dinner during restaurant week. Overall the dining area is nice (the room temperature was a bit cold), the service is good, but the food wasn't interesting or very flavorful. For example, they have a wood fired grill that has a prominent spot in their kitchen, but none of our food reflected any of that wood-fired flavor. Nothing about the food made me want to go back.
Chef personal touch to the delicious preparation makes it worth the visit and often. She goes over and above for food preparation and presentation. We tried #Shwana Chicken and Lamb Burger and they both were the best I have tasted over quite sometime. Awesome food and Awesome Host.
Our dinner was 3 hours long and our creme brûlée was runny. There was not enough wait stuff or cooks in the kitchen.
Best meal I've had in Fremont! Pomerol was the perfect spot for a romantic date night.
We tend to eat early so our reservation was for 6 pm, and at that hour we probably didn't need one. We were somewhat disappointed to learn that due to their being extremely busy the evening before, some items were not available. However, we tried their daily offer and it was very good. The service we received was also very good.
We made a reservation at Pomerol for our anniversary. Our waitstaff was excellent, service was timely, the kitchen was appreciative when I told them how much I enjoyed the Cote de Boeuf while my lovely wife said she enjoyed her lamb even more, and the brioche bread pudding for dessert was wonderful. The owner came out and chatted with us and we signed up for her e-mail list ... I look forward to our next visit!
I have now eaten at Pomerol 4 times and have had very inconsistent experiences. At the core of the issue seems to be the aloof, pompous, stiff attitude of the manager(?) who is always on site. At my most recent dining experience, we were provided with a healthy dose of attitude when the Old Fashioned I ordered didn't taste "right" and I politely asked if they could remake the drink so that it didn't taste watery. The manager said in a huff, "we don't put water in our Old Fashioneds", however when the server returned with my drink I apologized for the inconvenience and said the drink seemed watery but the manager was very short with me when I suggested that might be the case. The server then told me they HAD in fact added carbonated water to my Old Fashioned, so not only was the manager unapologetic and indignant, but was also wrong. This last visit the bread was also stale, and the Shishito peppers were too few and not well prepared. the only redeemable feature is the chef, who can grill a lamp chop beautifully. I will probably skip this place in the future, which is a bummer because I live in the neighborhood.
Fantastic food and service!
Food at Pomerol is consistently outstanding. Grilled pork chop with apricot chutney and applesauce was the perfect summer dish!
The restaurant wouldn’t honor their own gift card, claiming their machines no longer read the cards. When presented with the value from receipt they said nothing could be done to process payment.
The gift card was from a friend, for my birthday. Such a poor decision, as I nor my friends and their friends will be returning their for such poor customer service. (Also essentially stealing over $200 from my friend without offering refund of the gift card value...)
My pre-dinner cocktail was excellent and the watermelon salad was also really good. The other four dishes we had were just ok or worse, with one dish being so salty we couldn't eat it. I've had good meals here before so I'm not sure if it was just a bad night, but I won't be going back.
It was a quiet 4th for us, maybe the JV staff but the food could have used a little more taste. Presentation was pleasant but for the price the taste/food was not great.
The food was quite good and the service from Sierra was excellent! On a Sunday night it was very quiet, with only 1 or 2 other tables. We were hoping for a little bit more of the excitement that the atmosphere around the restaurant has. We smelled like a Camp Fire after we got home. The wood fire is legit! Over all, a great night out.
Wonderful food, great service!
The new ownership has expanded the menu in interesting ways! The already good French cuisine is now enhanced with dishes of Indian origin.
We are definitely coming back!
The food and cocktails were delicious!
Used to love this place, but it was recently sold, and not a favorite anymore. Happy Hour is gone, daily specials are gone, and the food was not as good as I remember it. Bummer. Really used to love this place, and the daily deals were a steal!
Been a fan of the restaurant for a bit now. Sat outside with this visit, which added to my quiet level rating and we were quite early that day, as well. New ownership in some fashion (don't know the details of that) but she came out and said hello to us and thanked us for joining them that evening. We loved the addition she brought to one of the dishes... grilled peaches, burrata etc..yumm.. and we are hopeful things will continue to flourish at Pomerol!
It’s a while since we had been here. Food was disappointing compared to prior visits . Boullabaise was good but a bit overpowered by truffle oil. Pork chop was very fatty and tough. So it seems some dishes are better than others
The first time my wife and I went here we were impressed. We had some high expectations for this visit. We were disappointed when some of the menu items were not available. For the price food could of been better.
