   We booked Polperro for a Sunday lunch with friends. The gardens and surrounds are beautiful. The car parking is very crowded which is not a good first impression. I don't think that I have been in a restaurant with such a loud volume of noise before. There were a couple of women's groups on large tables which didn't help. It was so loud that we struggl d to hear the waitress explain the menu. We decided to go with the set menu and order wine separately knowing that we had to drive home. All of the food was well presented and very tasty. Unfortunately, the level of service was very poor for the price of the menu. We were made to feel very rushed and told that we would have to move outside to finish our drinks and coffee. This really spoils the meal. Once we were outside, we were given no assistance to find a table and they completely mucked up our order on coffees and extra wine. We were unimpressed having spent over $500 on our meal.

   We dined for a birthday dinner and had the tour menu with matching wine. The food was oustanding on every single course and matches perfectly with beautiful wine. The personal service and attention to detail topped it all off, making for a very memorable evening.

   Usually Polperro is a favourite for us. We took some friends on Saturday night and it was disappointing. Food was not up to scratch and the staff were very slow to serve and a little rude. It is a shame as we have been many times as we are locals to the area and have recommended to many friends.

    Food was good but service was average unfortunately and wait staff not clear in explaining food and in to much of a rush and not paying attention to detail. Staff dropped food on the table and used my napkin to wipe it up and had to ask 4 times to get a new one. Has great potential tho as the the kitchen/food is on point .
