Great food and service
Polish food like your grandma would make, brought back so many flavor memories. The food arrives in a natural flow well timed by the serving staff and kitchen. Perfect for any occasion or a spontaneous night out. The perogi are a must have especially the turkey and cranberry!
Restaurant opened at 5:00pm. Our reservations were at 6:15pm. The buffet was already empty, no food, and the server said they were out of baked chicken for the evening. They substituted chicken tenders for baked chicken on the buffet. We ordered chicken tenders for our kids meal, the server said they were out of chicken tenders, but they could give the kids chicken nuggets. We ordered a side of meat pierogi...they were gross. Bar ran out of martini glasses. Waiter was inattentive.
The food was very good. The service was not. We were not served in a timely manner. No one seemed to be in charge of our table. Eventually we were served by the hostess. My companion ordered the ala Russe appetizer. Later our server (Debbie) told him, "I'm sorry, no one told me we are out of eggs." This sounds like a management problem. The Polish plate was delicious. I'll want to order it again.
We have had excellence here before, but something was off on Friday. With a party of 6, 5 of the meals were served warm to cool in temperature. 3 soups were cool, one was warm, clam chowder was late, hot, but with a burnt taste, no crackers were offered. The bread was cold and floury. On the main entries, the wiener schnitzel was served cool with cool mashed potatoes the mushroom souse was hot and helped warm the serving but had to be asked for and did not come as served. The Friday night cod special was not crisp but greasy, as was the perch offering and again it was served cool. Asked for but never received ketchup. The roast duck was good as always and properly heated. The beef roulade was good but again cool. The perogies were tasty but again served on the cool side.
Tastes were ok, waitress seemed overwhelmed, food was just ok and this is not what we have experienced here before.
Very nice experience! The employees and owners were wonderful!
Authentic Polish food just like my grandfather would make. Makes for a great night of comfort food.
Delicious food, generous portions, excellent service. Get the pierogies! Even the coffee was freshly brewed and delicious. Would move to WI to be able to eat there often.
I was glad we made reservations because the place filled up fast! Our waitress was awesome, the food was great. Recommend the buffet and the sauerkraut/mushroom pierogies. I think the highlight was the entertainment, a man playing polkas on an accordion and sometimes singing along. I loved the ambiance! We'll definitely be back when we return to the Milwaukee area.
Waitress, while young and just starting, tried hard and succeeded in providing excellent service. Bussing service was great - the young mane had plenty of personality - made it fun. The food as always is/was outstanding. The accordian music provided a nice background without being intrusive. Nice ambiance - good time.
Excellent bigos, great dill pickle soup, delicious pierogi, and more on the Sunday buffet.
The food was excellent, as always. It was difficult to talk because of the noise level.
The restaurant has a great variety of Polish favorites on their Sunday brunch menu. We always enjoy coming to this restaurant. The servers are polite and will visit with each patron.
Excellent food and service as always! Love the pierogis and potato pancakes.
Great Fathers Day Brunch. The whole family loved it.
Every time we go the owners and staff are wonderful and the food is excellent!
Good food but took forever to get drinks
It was Sat. Nite; pretty busy but service was pretty good, considering. My wife had the buffet. I had the Polish Plate: assorted pierogis, Polish sausage and potato pancake. Everything was very good. I also had dill pickle soup. My wife had borscht ( beet soup.)
The food was excellent as always . The room was clean and well lit. But lacks imagination I should feel as though I were in Poland. I was in a generic American restaurant with some pictures of Poland on the walls.
The menu is “busy”. The one thing that bothers me is a charcuterie plate with no polish sausages, save kielbasa. How about smoked polish, polish delights, kizcka. The Poles have a plethora of sausages. Oh and how about polish rye bread. I would like to see Polonez thrive. It ‘s our only Polish restaurant left.
Outstanding buffet. Everything is so fresh and obviously homemade.
Kristen: Thank you for your kind review. We hope you visit us soon.
We were seated promptly and our server was a delight. She has a smile all the time and is very attentive. We celebrated 2 Birthdays and everyone said the food was excellent. The accordion players were exceptional good and played a variety of music. Could not have asked for a more memorable birthday for the two of us. Keep up the good work.
Wonderful place to share with friends or family. Not many places like this anymore. This one is outstanding.
I had the traditional fish fry which was delicious. The fries were good and the cole slaw tasted very fresh. It was an enjoyable dinner.
Just a great restaurant. Staff is always very pleasant and efficient. Food is outstanding - never disappointed.
The buffet was always low of the food items, even though the dining room was not crowded with people
Too bad that we are moving to Minnesota. I surely will miss the Polonez
Everything was great. Bartender and wait staff very friendly. Great music as well.
My husband and I came to your restaurant for the first time over a week ago and enjoyed the music and food so much we came back the next week with our parents. My parents enjoyed themselves so much as did my brother. Next time we will bring my sister and her husband. I can see that this will be a family favorite for a long time. Thank you there are not many restaurants out there like this one!!!
It is a 30 minute drive for us , but well worth it.
It transported us back to my wife’s grandparent’s house. The food was perfect!!
My Polish family and I had such a good time at Polonez. The Czarnina was delicious, just as good as my moms was. The pork hock was very good! My sister ordered the filet,
and said it was differently delicious. My other sister ordered the combination Polish plate and really enjoyed it! We were celebrating my
nieces 19th Birthday. She LOVED being serenaded in English, AND Polish!
What a warm, friendly place! We felt like we were with the wonderful Polish relatives that we miss so much !
We’ll probably gather up more of our families to do the Saturday night polka dancing! Great time!
Food, ambience, entertainment outstanding. Buffet, restaurant, even the bathrooms super clean. The lady that greets you and all staff great you like family. 100% going back!
Polonez is always wonderful. We love Saturday nights with the polka music. The food is very good too.
We loved everything and will be back! We had the buffet and paid extra for the combo pierogies tray so we could try all 6 kinds...well worth it.
Always delicious. One of my favorite restaurants because the food reminds me of my grandmas cooking. Highly suggest going here if you want some good home cooked Polish food.
Great food and delicious cheesecake!
George, the owner/cook, by request, came out and sang Happy Birthday to my mom. The best part is they sing it in both English and Polish. Wonderful authentic restaurant.
Our first time at Polonez. We loved it! The dinner buffet was fantastic and the service was excellent.
This will not be our last visit to Polonez. Even though we live an hour away, we will be back many times!
Another fabulous famiy meal where we could take our out of town and local family to celebrate being together for the holidays. Everyone enjoyed their hand crafted cocktails, beer and wine along with chosen entrees. Rave review on the fish fry, veal, Polish platter and more. The soups were delicious and many to choose from. The salads were fresh and the right amount not to spoil the meal that would be coming. I prefer my rolls warmed, but the variety was sure to please anyone to try something different than the standard dinner roll. My daughter in law needs to maintain a gluten free diet, and since moving here this is her restaurant of choice. She enjoys the availability to have items she can trust are prepared to her dietary needs and not worry about cross contamination. We were too full for dessert but did share a couple orders of the sweet pierogis to experience the deliciousness and end our meal.
We are hoping to return for the Saturday night buffet or Sunday brunch.
Our food was not very good. The duck was totally dry. The sampler platter was too expensive and sub par. The duck was way too expensive for what you get.
Met friends for a Sunday brunch buffet. Had a Polish beer and the women had Cosmos, which are great bargains. The food was plentiful and very tasty. We all had to go back for seconds and thirds. We will definitely be back.
