Brunch- the place was really nice. Beautiful decor nice music and vibes. the food was alright, however the drinks were flowing. Definitely worth your money to do the all inclusive brunch! The food , could use more options.
The food was pretty decent but the service was extremely slow
I was extremely disappointed in the whole experience. My first time at Policy was last year for a friends birthday and it was amazing. This time, exact opposite. The mimosas were terrible, the mix they use is not orange juice but orange peach crush so we had to have the waiter switch it out 3 times. The food was Terrible also. Came here with a party of 5 for my bday we all left extremely hungry and agitated. The food last time I came was amazing I just don't understand. I won't be returning. I'm seriously considering contacting management because no one should have to experience this so called "brunch". It's more of a place to go to take pictures for the ambiance. Don't come here if your hungry at all! So sad!
Highly disappointed in the food selection at Policy - they had NO brunch sides! Not even a side of French fries or home fries. It's brunch. You want potatoes with your bottomless brunch drinks. Disappointed in the portion sizes as well - VERY small and sad looking huevos rancheros.
small portions for what you pay. Meal tasted good though
It's definitely a party brunch. It was St. Patrick's Day, and people were having a good time. The service was pretty terrible though. I think it made it difficult, because we were a large party and didn't all arrive at the same time, but some people were waiting close to a half hour for drinks. But once everyone had drinks they brought over big pitchers of mimosas so everyone had plenty to drink. They also gave us free shooters. The food was terrible though. It came cold. And it was pretty overpriced. But they comped the food and gave us the free shots. I would just not necessarily recommend this place for food. It's more of a dance club kind of place.
Awful service, they only had 2 people tending to all the brunch tables and those at the bar. Took forever just to get their attention or drinks.
This was the worst ever. Did not get food after waiting for over 2 hours. Do not come here for brunch ever.
I didn’t realize that Policy downsized so much. Not only within the building but their menu as well. This use to be my favorite Brunch spot, but I haven’t been in a while due to travel. Needless to say I have to find a new spot. It also took over 30 minutes for my waffles to come out.
The food was ok though it was salty and in very small portions (with the exception of the Yuca Hash). Service was not great; this was a result of staffing and not of the individual server (he was great) - but he was the only server for a very busy floor.
This place was great. Super brunch
The brunch was not bad. Prices on brunch items are moderate for the area. The food and drinks were average. Decorations were cool with an industrial look and outdoor patio.
While the bottomless mimosas are great, the food was very disappointing (who serves waffles without butter or syrup of some kind?). Very limited vegetarian options. The service was understaffed and they only came by to check on us once.
Food is just terrible.
Fabulous food with excellent service. Couldn't have asked for a better brunch experience.
Can't actually comment on my experience with Policy because they cancelled my reservation the afternoon of my event
We have been to Policy many times and it's always been good. It would have been nice if they would have let us know they were remodeling. And clearly, even with a reduced menu selection, they cannot remodel and prepare a meal at the same time. The food was absolutely horrible.
We went for brunch and the drinks were the main reason we went. The price for the bottomless mimosas and bloody Mary's was good and we definitely enjoyed it. The music was also really good and the rooftop was a nice addition to the experience. Can't say the food is good though, that's the only downside.
Unfortunately, we didn't even get to experience the restaurant. We walked in to no hostess, opened the door to the right where the main restaurant used to be. Of course the missing knob should have tipped up off for the construction on the other side of the door. No sign. Nothing saying closed. So we walk upstairs to where there was always additional seating and a bar to learn that that is now the "restaurant". We went to the bar and told the bartender that we had a reservation and were given menus. NOTHING like what was online. The menu is a short spaced out one pager with breakfast basics like All-American style. After asking about the menu, we were told, "oh yea. We are under construction. I'm sure if you looked st yelp pictures, this isn't anything that was on there and probably not what you were expecting". With that, we said thank you, and called a restaurant up the street to try.
Menu was sub par and didn't reflect the menu on open table. Therefore we were very disappointed in the options listed. Everything was pretty basic. Service for bottomless drinks were slow. We asked for a side of bacon and we were told they couldn't accommodate this request.. which was odd. But the server came back and said they could after all.
They were under construction and we had an option of about 3 things, all of which I could make at home (sandwiches) so it felt quite overpriced for sandwiches.
This was a great place to entertain out-of-town friends for brunch. It was my first exposure to the restaurant POLICY; slightly ironic given that I work in policy. I'll come back again!
This place is way too loud. Food was good, but if you plan on having even the slightest conversation, avoid Policy.
Brunch was good! We got the bagel sandwich and the Churrasco & Eggs. The only copmlaint is that the place was very loud, and Open table would only let us reserve high tops, though there were many regular tables around. Otherwise, good food!
Excellent food served professionally in a pleasant environment.
The food tasted so good and the champagne kept on coming. The service is really good and the servers are very attentive. Definitely going again.
It was too loud and you had this table talking and screaming the hold time.
The new look and redesigned menu is a far stretch from what Policy was once known for. My guests and myself were all blown away by the flavors and presentation. Good job Policy!
The arepas and French toast were great, the servic was slow even though it was quiet in a Sunday morning. Located in the heart of 14th street.
The service was honestly the worst part. It took a long time for a server to come to our table and once she finally came we waited a long time for drinks and food. Our server never came back once the food was dropped off until we were all set. From there we asked for the check and waited another 20 minutes before she came back having forgotten we asked for the check. The food was bland and over priced. It wasn't worth getting a cocktail as it took the bar forever to make them. There is a reason this place was completely empty on a Saturday night...
I would not come back here and would not recommend this to anyone.
We thought the food and service was great! The restaurant is very noisy though.
Policy wasn't bad, but my husband and I weren't overly impressed by either the drinks or the food. I found the food to be very salty, and we even left some of our food behind because we didn't love the flavor. Again it wasn't bad, but just wasn't overly impressive.
First time being at Policy! It was a good spot to start a Sunday Funday. It was very busy and a lot smaller than I expected. Wasn't a fan of the high tops being in the middle of the restaurant. Service was ok and friendly. Would come back.
We had a quick dinner before a show at the Lincoln Theater, and loved the food. We sat outside and it was quite early, so I can't reflect on the noise level or the ambiance. The food was delicious, served in small plates/large plates style. The yuca fries and the chicken empanadas were delicious to start, which we followed with the duck breast and the mushroom and sweet potatoes with black-eyed peas. I also had a glass of white wine. Everything was nicely presented, fairly priced and delicious. We will return.
We had Easter Brunch. The Brunch was so good!
I'm a huge fan of Policy and have eaten here a number of times. I'm gluten, dairy, soy AND vinegar intolerant and I always find tasty things to eat :)
This was the first stop (of many) on the day of my birthday celebration.
We came in for brunch and everyone enjoyed their meals. The mimosas were absolutely delicious. Our server was awesome and she had a fun demeanor. This was everyone's first time at the restaurant and we all agreed we'd return for another round!
Policy was okay we had a surprise: going away brunch here. We did have reservations. More people can then I thought. We was accompanied but it seem like people was upset. Out good came out late. We had a noise complaint, that set a bad mood over our day. Overall it was okay but not what I thought it would be.
My entire experience was amazing. I keep bringing friends back for brunch. Especially Luis !!! Although he is not our waiter he would keep checking on use whenever our waiter was busy with other customers
I am deeply saddened that Policy has removed their Shrimp & Grits from their now underwhelming menu. While many restaurants offer shrimp & grits, no one makes it like Policy did. Their's was on a whole other plane and the sole reason I trekked into the district, past so many other, now better dining choices, on Saturday mornings. I probably won't be back to put up with the raucous, millennial, bottomless drink crowd.
