The food needs vast improvement for how great the location and the layout and the service was. On the menu it said empanadas and they definitely were not and they were oversalted. I expected better for my Ribeye tacos. The meat was good but that’s about where the flavor stops. I felt I could make better tacos at home. My wife and I loved the down stairs patio and we were thinking about coming back for my birthday but it’s most likely we don’t unless they get a new chef and change some of the menu. The drinks and service and the chips and salsa were great and that’s the only reason at this point we would come back.

Very convenient location if you are going to a show at the Orpheum Theater. You can walk there in like 3 minutes. The staff is attentive and helpful. The food is good, but not excellent. The short ribs were very tender and the carnitas was crispy. The chips are way too hard. The rib eye appetizer was too fatty for my taste. They do create dishes with bold, spicy flavors. The restaurant itself is OLD and in need of a makeover.

LOVED! Would 100% come again. Came for my father’s birthday and the service was incredible! We had the enchiladas, the filet mignon, and a few other plates. Started off with the chicharrón appetizer and even the chips and dips were nothing short of delicious. INCREDIBLE. The drinks weren’t too heavy, they were just right, I recommend the Tiki drink. So good! But the service made this place stand out 100%. Not only did our server make the best recommendations, but he also made our night.

We ordered meat and sea food. Because it’s summer the AC is blasting, which is nice when you come in from the outside. However, when ordering hit food it gets cold in a minute. I would suggest to go for cold seafood during the summer if you don’t like to eat you hot food cold (like me). The drinks were good, I thought they were going to have a dessert since it was a bday dinner with friends but did not paid attention to my request. Overall, if you are missing Mexico City’s ambiance and friendly customer service, then go for it.

We had such a fantastic experience here I wish I took pictures but we scarfed it down too quickly since it tasted so great. The rib eye chicharrón was absolutely fantastic and we had the aguachile and lobster enchiladas with Palomas to drink. Service was great and so was the music. The space is super cute where the New Orleans restaurant used to be I can’t remember the name of it.

The staff was very friendly, professional, and welcoming. The food was so good! The ribeye chicarron was is a MUST. If you're into spicy, ask for their habanero salsa. It's not on the menu but it can be requested. It tastes so good but be warned, it is spicy ! I love the aesthetic of the place and the patio areas are great for sunsets. Will def be coming back for the great apps and steaks.

This place is a gem. The building is funky and beautiful. Our waiter and wait staff were wonderful. The food was better than I thought it would be, and I expected it to be good. No question I’ll go back and bring others. I didn’t partake but it looks like they have a string bar scene as well.

Fantastic restaurant with great food, great ambiance, and great service all around. Our waiter (may have been the owner) was helpful, engaging, and entertaining. Only small negative was that the music was a tad loud (definitely too loud downstairs) to hear ourselves. But we all really enjoyed the meal and will definitely be back.

One of my fave restaurants! I discovered Polanco 3 days after they opened and I’ve been comign ever since. It’s soooooo good and very consistent! That’s when you know! I can’t wait to be back!

I absolutely loved POLANCO Modern Steakhouse . From the moment we walked in and we’re greeted by the friendly staff we were impressed. My friends and I celebrated my birthday here ! Service , Drinks, Food, Ambience were all phenomenal!!!! Definitely will be back !

Delicious we went to a Musical on Broadway then quickly ubered to Polanco's our first time there every one of us enjoyed our meal absolutely delicious. We will be back again the steak the pork the tortillas the drinks all excellent including the service

My husband, his family and I had dinner here for his 30th Birthday! We had dinner upstairs for a party of 6. The seating and overall second floor is beautiful and a whole dinner vibe. The nice sized bar splits two dining areas which creates really portion making it feel bigger than it seems from the outside. We got there during happy hour and had the chicharrones and corn. I had the carnitas for dinner and honestly got full off appetizers and drinks. The appetizers were delicious, the corn was burnt just right so that it didn’t overwhelm the taste of the cheese, cream and chili on the corn. The chicharrón have this lime guac salsa which is so good. The carnitas was mixed with the same salsa mix as the chicharrón. Fresh and warm tortillas for apps and dinner. Had the Diablito drink, it had the Chile sweet flavor that made the drink feel extra special. For my husband’s Birthday, they brought out a delicious flan that had graham crackers crumble around it. Staff was super friendly and funny, they were attentive and thoughtful. So many other great things, but had a wonderful time and will be going back.

Drinks were excellent! Nice setting, however the open windows allowed for bugs in the dining room. Not all food was good. Aguachile had great flavor but prawns were tough. Guacamole was very different and delicious but chips/tostadas tasted stale. Salsas were excellent. Fish entree was very well cooked, perfectly moist and tender, however the sauce was nothing exciting. The chicken enchiladas were very spicy. Lobster tacos were excellent and the best entree of the group. There were more misses than hits, not sure if I would return for the price.

It was my first time here and overall the place was okay. We celebrated my birthday here and had to wait over an hour to receive our drinks and the food actually came before the drinks. They told us that it was because the bat was backed up however we walked up the bar and the bartender was able to take an order from us with no wait. The food was okay at best, but the waitstaff were all very friendly. Overall I probably wouldn’t go back

Service and waiter was really great overall. We ordered several items and the only item that was did not meet expectations was the calamari because the sauce and chips in the dish was very salty. Lastly, alcoholic drinks took too long to receive. In fact we had to cancel our last drink order since it seemed that it would never arrive and we were close to leaving.

We got there with plenty of time (1 hr, 30 minutes) before a show at the Ace Hotel. But after an hour, our main courses hadn't arrived (and our original server, who had mentioned that he was "new" was nowhere in sight), we asked another server about our food, and he asked us what was ordered and went to check. Came back and said food should be out in 5 minutes, saying something about the steak taking long to cook. 15 more minutes before food arrived, so we had about 10 minutes to eat (food was fine but not great) before we had to get it packed up to leave. We're pretty sure the order wasn't placed to begin with. No offers to comp or reduce anything!

Celebrated my birthday here with friends. It was such a great time. Our waiter was attentive and friendly. They were flexible and accommodated additional friends who arrived. Drinks were great!!! The ambiance is amazing!

I read the reviews so I ordered the lobster enchiladas…big mistake because the lobster smelled very fishy n yes I know duh it’s sea food but when sea food is fresh it doesn’t smell like that. Not only did it really smell it was tough and the taste was extremely fishy. The drinks were amazing tho n so was the service.

Overall, the experience was fair. The staff was so friendly and kind, but the service was severely lacking. Drinks took forever, were forgotten entirely, or cream and sugar were served with an empty coffee cup that remained empty for much of the meal. Steaks were tough and we could not be sure they matched what we ordered because the staff was calling them different cuts. I really wanted to like this place and visit again, but for the price, we aren’t planning to come back.

Wonderful meal and a real find of a restaurant- was chilly inside - that would be my only point. Windows were open to add to the ambience which was wonderful. Definitely go but bring a layer just in case!

Delicious food that is a new twist on traditional Mexican. This restaurant knows what it wants to be. Nice bar area with craft cocktails. Excellent service. Convenient to old DTLA theatres like Opheum, Ace Hotel, etc. Lots of parking nearby. We will return!

This was our third visit to Polanco's and its quality remains excellent. A warm, trendy and cozy ambiance and vibe fits perfectly with the creative and talented dishes, focusing mainly on incredibly tasty steaks with insanely delicious sauces and accompaniments, and also attentive and friendly service from all staff from the manager to the servers to the support staff. Always a delight.

Amazing experience from Beginning to End. I took my spouse to Polanco for his birthday celebration as we entered we were greeted with a smile. Our server Ivan went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. He made our dining experience unforgettable. He made great recommendations for our wine and dine in experience. Even the manager came to our table and introduced himself and made sure we were having a wonderful experience. The calamari was to die for, our main dish was surf and turf, very succulent, the lobster and steak melt in your mouth, we had the Polanco Margarita with our appetizer and Austin Hope Cabernet Sauvignon for dinner that our server recommended. We are definitely going back and highly recommend Polanco to our friends and family. Thank you Polanco and Staff for such and unforgettable experience.
