Amazing. First time here and I was loving on it. Delicious meal. Great atmosphere. Love the menu despite it being a little limited. Can’t wait to go back.
Bartender/waitress was attentive, her recommendations were spot on!
Food was good with some unique twists. Good beer selection and Bloody Mary was slightly spice with a nice selection of veggies.
Great waitress.... made great drink and very attentive and informative.
We ate outside, beautiful day, a lot going on Resturant week, unveiling a mural ,so people and media out on sidewalk. Service and food was still excellent!
Great service. The restaurant is nicely decorated. This was our second visit here, which was specifically for restaurant week. Very tasty food. We will be back again for regular menu!
Made a reservation for 9:45 pm for 2 for dinner and arrived at 9:40 pm. As soon as we sat ourselves, they said they were no longer serving food and last call for drinks. They were supposed to close at 11 pm so can’t review the food. The service was subpar at best.
Our lunch was delicious and all the employees were very cordial and accommodating.
Best cheese curds ever. Fish was fry was also excellent. Great service. Good covid precautions
Our overall experience was excellent. Great food, great service & much attention was given to a clean safe environment, in spite of the Covid virus. I highly recommend Poke the Bear for either lunch or dinner.
Great dinner inside under the new COVID rules. Staff was great and we never felt at all concerned. Great pastrami rueben and pulled pork. They are doing it correctly.
This was a first time visit for both my friend and me. We had the crawfish rangoons which, while incredibly similar to crab rangoons, do have their own unique flavor. We would have them again. My friend had the soba salad, served cold, and she said it was delicious. I had a build your own burger with the addition of fried egg and avocado. We would both happily eat both dishes again. We also shared the peanut butter cheesecake. If I had that to do over again, I would have not shared it -that was sooo good!
A great wine list, lovely décor, nice looking bar - comfortable setting with courteous workstaff. We'll be back!
Tried the smoked wings this time...delicious. The bleu cheese dressing is so chunky! The burgers are always good but I favor the French dip.
Everything was amazing! I eat keto, and there are many options on the menu that require just a little modification to fit my diet. Service was prompt and our table was ready the second we walked in for the reservation. My water was kept full and the server checked on us numerous times to make sure everything was just as we liked it. My dirty martini was excellent and my boyfriend enjoyed the beer selection.
This was our first time at Poke The Bear. Very impressed with the menu and the food!! Salmon sandwich was just awesome! Will be back for it again. It was very "bright" interior with the lighting and windows. We sat by window late afternoon, and the sun was directly in our eyes. No blinds or shades to pull down. Overall, a bit too light for a "relaxing" meal. (at least in the middle of the day). But staff was very friendly, unique menu, and food was terrific! Would highly recommend.
Fantastic appetizers!
Loved the quieter setting after a busy day. Food was hot and tasty. Not the best margarita I have had, but I am a little fussy. Thanks for a great evening!
The atmosphere is great, but the food is average. I had the fish. Not a fan of the breading. Looks burnt and tastes blah. This is my second time here and I’m not impressed. The bar area is nice. I’d come back for drinks and atmosphere but not food.
I arrived and they did not have my reservation. At the poke the bear restaurant which is where I made the reservation or at the Walnut room. Luckily they could get us a table but I would have been very disappointed because I brought guests with me. Not sure if it the issue was the OpenTable app or the restaurant.
A wonderful, relaxing evening to end the hectic holiday weeks. Warm and inviting. Enjoyed some good football on TV, a few good cocktails and some wonderful food.
We were there for a New Year’s Eve dinner and everything was going ok until my wife found a hair in her French dip sandwich. They did take it off of the bill without us asking but it just kind of ruined the dinner and I loss my appetite as well after that. The chicken I had a dry but really it was the hair that ruined the experience. It was not the waitress’ fault as she was very nice.
Good drink selection, excellent food. Can’t wait to return!
The restaurant uses tablets for a menu which I find tacky and not comforting. The restaurant also smelled strongly of old grease, so strong I had to have my coat dry cleaned and wash my hair when I got home. Overall, not impressed.
Great food. Brussels sprouts were amazing!
We had a girls' night out and had never been here before. Our waitress was wonderful, the service was prompt, and the food was great. We will definitely go back again soon!
Great food! Always a good time.
Game night after Green Bay played..
We had two rooms at the northland hotel..this was convenient and in hotel...obviously understaffed andmffos awful....sorry
This was our first visit but won't be our last, beautiful building in the heart of GB with great food and good value.
Great!!! Food was good!
Birthday. Nice place
Went on Friday the 13. Food was excellent service was just Ok. We waited a while for our cocktails. Also was surprised the place pretty much empties out by 8:30
They did a great job remolding the hotel and bringing the whole building into the 21 century
Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Extensive draft craft selection and diverse handhelds menu! Add some wonderful ambiance and this is our newest go to for casual dining🙂
Very courteous staff, food was great, and we enjoyed the ambiance. Portions were very generous. I was there with old friends from high school and we were celebrating a birthday for one of them. The staff gave her extra special attention!
Food was good for lunch, but always the same thing. Not much variety to the menu over other last time we were there. Salmon and roast beef were good, but why not advantage of locally sourced produce and with some summer special sandwiches? Don’t think the lunch menu has changed since they opened!
Food would get a 5 star IF they could just serve fries hot After they are cooked, unless they are cooked ahead of time and sit under a heat lamp. I specifically asked to make sure they were hot, and they were not, but the flavor and texture were great, just like warm. The sandwich was hotter then he fries!
This seems to be the norm in most restaurants!
Overall I would give it a try.
I’m always impressed with the Walnut Room but didn’t think much of Poke the Bear. I sat about 10 minutes before someone even came to the table. Service was pretty slow considering it wasn’t busy. Wasn’t much on the menu and the food was just okay.
Fun , casual atmosphere. Food and drinks with family or girls night out.
Menu was small but tasty. Soup could have been hotter for my husband's liking . I thought it was just right.
Our server was very pleasant and the food was delicious. Prompt service and clean atmosphere.
The chicken wings were delicious, the fries were a bit under-cooked, and the burger was so messy and wet (they didn’t drain the pulled pork properly). The liquid from the pulled pork, soaked into the bun and dripped everywhere. For me, it ruined the burger. A 50 dollar dinner for two, that wasn’t really worth 25 in my opinion. When I told the waitress about it, she acted flabbergasted and said, “nobody has ever said that.”
Great food but horrible service. Extremely noisy as well.
My first time at Poke the Bear was for GB Restaurant week, but I will be back. Interesting and delicious food combinations. Casual/modern atmosphere, with a great window on downtown Green Bay. Check it out for yourself~
