    Should of known when place was dead on Friday night that wasn’t good sign for quality food. Was staying at hotel and didn’t have time for the waits at nearby restaurants.

    Staff was cheerful. Service was fast- but there were few customers at the time. Burger was amazing! Cocktail recipe wasn’t good though unfortunately. I’ve had great drinks here several times before so that was disappointing. But we’ll back for the burger and fries!

    Enjoyed dining at Poke the Bear on Saturday evening. Service and food were both excellent. I had the best Rueben sandwich I’ve ever eaten. The also had a delicious white stout on draft. I would gladly return!

    Very elegant but casual dining. The Rustic Italian Chicken was very good. Chicken was done well and was juicy. The ambiance was that of elegant dining yet casual. Menu could have offered at least two additional dishes to choose from. Price for this dish was a bit high but overall prices were consistent with other establishments. I will visit Pole The Bear again.

    Waited 1 hour for appetizer, main course for my wife came half hour later, my food came 15 minutes after that. Waiter said one cook quit after starting shift. They should’ve called everyone on the reservation list and either canceled or advised. Will never go there again.

    Great food and service! Our waiter was very attentive. Wisconsin has the best bar food and this place did not disappoint. I love the Northland hotel and all of its restaurants.

    My husband’s sandwich was all fat, the onions were burned and the cheese was over down where in stead of melted it was hard and crunchy. My friends French fries came after their meal and her flatbread was overcooked.

    We felt sorry for the server who was covering a huge area by herself and working hard! They had very little of the wine on the iPad. The steak was not a cut for steak frites but was simply sirloin with a smear of white on the plate. The hotel is gorgeous. It's too bad it's chaos in the restaurant.

    We had a reservation, waited 5 minutes to be greeted at all. Not a big deal. Once we were seated we waited 30 minutes. No one came to the table, even though a number of people looked at us and walked by. We ended up leaving without ever speaking to a server.

    Awful. Don't waste your time or money. Couldn't find our Open Table reservation. Then sat us in a junk table by the door with view of 1 TV in a "sports pub". Waited 15 minutes for even a simple hello that never came. We walked out. Will never go back.

    The service was terrible. It was busy, but the service was so poor it cannot be overlooked. The steak was improperly cooked and the salad arrived without dressing. Unfortunately, this was unable to be remedied because nobody asked how the meal was. After waiting about 15-20 minutes for the requested check, we had to go to the bar to pay so we could leave.

    Stopped by for a small evening meal. Our server was excellent. Food and cocktails were served promptly. Our server also gave us a brief history of the hotel and it's frequent visitors. Definitely a nice stop for a sandwich and drink later in the evening.

    The food was disappointing at best. The medium steak was well done. My sandwich had no flavor, and our son-in-law, who is in no way picky, could not eat his. The two sandwiches came out before the steaks, so two of us were waiting to eat. The people in the booth behind us were talking very loud, and it was distracting. In general, not a good experience for the price. We won’t go back.

    Terrible bland food, cheese curds were 50% soggy breading, no seasoning, burger was half the size of the bun- again, no flavor at all, I wouldn’t even touch the fries- they were soggy and literally wet with oil. The old fashioned tasted off as did a Diet Coke. I was pretty sure I had Covid because everything tasted weird until we stopped at another bar and all the food had flavor and tasted as expected. The poor hostess ended up being our server, we never even saw one. She did so well, considering my it’s not part of her job.

    Food was great and this establishment was able to accommodate 5 at a high table. Service was just Ok. The bartender was also the server due to nobody wanting to work these days. He did his best and we appreciate that.

    Received a lot of food for the money. Food tasted great. Service was fast and friendly. Server recommended the onion rings as an appetizer since they ran out of cheese curds. Would highly recommend and will go back

    We ordered an appetizer that came after the main entrees were served. We were quoted a price for the fish special but were charged more than the original price. They did make an adjust to the bill to reflect the price we were originally told.

    Very nice and elegant dining. Tables are spaced out so you can enjoy your conversation. The noise level is quiet. There are private booths available. Huge windows overlooking the street. Fun to watch the downtown activity. Great food. Even better service! The cleanest bathrooms you've ever seen LOL!

    Had a wonderful evening at Poke the Bear before a concert. Our server was attentive and very nice. I had ordered the steak medium rare and it came out very very well done, the server noticed it (I would not have complained myself) and took it upon himself to let the chef know, a new steak was brought out (delicious) and I was comped & given a free desert, it was very generous and they will have my business again!

    The marinated onion rings were so good! We were too full to finish our meals, much less have dessert. Next time I'd order the onion rings with my sandwich and we could possibly split a dessert!
