Located in the heart of midtown Manhattan, Point Break NYC is a surf themed pour-house accompanied by our mouthwatering kitchen.

Came for happy hour here with a friend. We had intended to stay well into the evening to eat and hang and catch up even after drink specials were over, but we ended up seated at a table right near the door -- it was freezing every time the door opened and we were constantly being jostled as people came and went. Plus, our weird table location was so far from the waitress' other tables that we were often forgotten and had trouble getting her attention from across the room and through groups of people crowded at the bar. A bummer of a first experience, especially since we went through the effort of making a reservation.

First, it's really confusing as you head in. From the outside and even once you get inside, it's just a really loud dive bar. The first person you see is the bouncer who told us to find the bartender to tell them we had a reservation. It was so crowded that we couldn't get up to the bar. A server finally saw us looking like lost dogs and told us to go upstairs. Another server took us to our table. It was far too loud for her to hear our orders even when we shouted, so the wrong thing came out for me but we had a show to get to so I didn't bother trying to get it corrected. This place does not belong on Open Table.

Ate lunch upstairs. Service was spotty - wait staff came up infrequently. After taking the initial order, had to wait a long time to get a 2nd drink. The chicken in my panini was rubbery but the fries were good. My friend's turkey burger comment was "had better". More like a fun drinking bar than a lunch establishment.

2.5 stars, really. Reserved a table for dinner online, no problem. The rest of the visit was disappointing. Service was slow. I had to flag down our waitress for everything. She was very inattentive. Ready to order only to learn they were out of burgers and onion rings. When the food came, an order of fries was missing...it'd never been put in. We had no silverware and had to ask for refills. Food was fine, nothing exceptional. My daughter's mac and cheese was better than my sandwich. All in all, we left with full stomachs, but an overall lackluster experience. Would not be in a hurry to return or recommend this place, especially with so many options available in the area.

My business associates went to dinner here because it was close to our hotel and we didn't know the area. We had a reservation for 7:30. Despite making a reservation, the staff didn't seem to know about it and had to confer with other people for about 5 min before they came back and got us. The place was so loud you couldn't hear the person next to you. They proceeded to seat us at a table right in the middle of the throng. Since we couldn't hear the person seated next to us, we got up and left.

I made a reservation to ensure a table. We were finally given a table but no chairs. Chairs came about 10 minutes later and are drink order 15 minutes later. We ended up leaving after the appetizer.
