Except for the dessert, the other four courses were excellent. The pumpkin soup, heomuchim, buckwheat noodles, and especially the beef steak were all very delicious—the steak, in particular, was outstanding. However, I couldn’t give 5 stars for the food because of the dessert. It was a heavy rice cake with a bland cream that wasn’t even ice cream, and it left a dull aftertaste. It really didn’t match the rest of the meal and ended the experience on a disappointing note. A refreshing, sweet-and-tangy dessert would have been a much better finish.

We had the Chef’s Choice dinner at POGU last Wednesday. It was outstanding. Each course was well thought out and seasoned perfectly. The presentation was outstanding! We had requested a vegetarian meal for one of our friends beforehand. The chef prepared a special vegetarian meal for us, and it was fantastic! We loved our dinner!

It was our first time dining at this restaurant after it opened. Thought we should give it a try. Ambience, decor and setting are good. We ordered from the menu rather than the pri-fixe menu. Had the abalone rice, beef bulgogi and a soup. Food was ok, not outstanding. Service was ok and I expected better. Overall, it’s worth trying but don’t expect too much.

The bread, appetizers and most of the entres that we ordered were delicious and the presentation of the dishes were wonderful. Our cocktails were very good too. I think their menu is limited and hope they expand to more selections.

Food was good but a little overpriced for the entrees. Portion was small but service was good. If you like to try new restaurants this is the place to try. Only opened 3 months ago.
