Unfortunately, this restaurant is not on the OpenTable reservation network. To see if they take reservations and have availability, you will need to call the restaurant directly or visit their website.
There was a much smaller menu than advertised online. Only a few bar snacks and sandwiches. Additionally, there was a onesie bar crawl happening in the area that made it very loud and service slow. Server was hustling but there were not enough people on to support the customers.
Thanks for the nice service and ambience--but I liked your old menu better--with a choice of green salad --with or without chix
Music volume was up, way too loud. Everyone was practically yelling - or lip-reading! Server was nice, but lacked any semblance of knowledge or food and beverages. She also stuck her thumb right on a plate in the middle when setting out appetizer plates! Gross!
Went for dinner with a small party for my wife’s birthday. We arrived on schedule for our reservation and were seated promptly. Food was great, everyone enjoyed their meals. However, we agreed the service lacked. It was awkward when the waitress took our menus after we placed an order for appetizers and drinks; I made dinner reservations not appetizer and drink reservations. Additionally, it took quite long for the bar to make a second drink for one of our party members. It was not crowded in the restaurant at all and the drink ordered came off their drink menu so it was very hard to understand what took 20 minutes to make one drink. Four party members ordered entrees that had French fries and we had to ask someone other than our waitress for ketchup. Overall the food was good but the lack of service will make me not recommend the restaurant or at least tell people to be warned about service before dining there.
One more thing, I mentioned it was my wife’s birthday in the comments of my reservation and at no point during dinner did they ask about it. I realize not all restaurants have a policy to do things for people’s birthdays but if I’m designating it a “special occasion” and say “it’s my wife’s birthday” I would expect to hear maybe “I hear someone’s celebrating a birthday. Happy Birthday!” at the very least. Plus they only had one desert on the menu so I’m not sure if they could afford to give one complimentary or not.
Super nice staff--they even held our table for 15 minutes (on a busy Friday night!) when I called to tell them my friend had been in a motorcycle accident and we were running late. Thanks so much! :)
Menu is extremely limited for folks that do not eat meat or foul. This bar and restaurant are entirely to close to each other. the bar crowd stands around the bar and their conversations and presence interrupts the dining experience.
As soon as I walked in the door, I was greeted graciously by a well dressed young lady and asked if I would like to go to my table. I told her that I was waiting for my son and I would like to sit at the bar. She escorted me to the bar and found 2 stools together and said that I could sit there. She was so nice that it made the rest of the evening extremely pleasant. As soon as I sat down, another charming bar tender asked me if I would like some water. She brought me the water and then asked if I would like something from the bar. This was such a change from most bars, where, before you sit down, someone immediately asks you what libation you want to drink. I ordered and my drink came almost immediately. A few minutes later, the bar tender asked me if my drink was satisfactory and if I would like an appetizer while waiting for my son. I ordered their special olives which were warm and delicious. After my son arrived we ordered a chicken bowl and a cheeseburger with fries. Everything was totally delicious. I wanted the hamburger medium rare and they complied perfectly. My son said that the chicken bowl was outstanding. During this time, I watched countless couples come in for dinner and drinks. When we left, we were thanked by everyone, and asked if there was anything more they could do for us. This is unlike most Bay Area Restaurants/Bars where no one takes a personal interest in your dining experience. What a great find for excellent, casual dining. My thanks to the management and staff for providing such a pleasant evening.
Small but very intimate. All the Waite staff are very attentive and they remember you if you come more than once. The drinks are good too. The have s wide selection of top quality spirits, and I also enjoy the menu which has vegetarian & vegan options.
Been here 10+ times and always enjoy the food and cocktails. Unfortunately, my last couple of visits were marred by the place being incredibly understaffed. This time, our server was a delight, but she seemed to be the only one working the entire restaurant on a busy Thursday evening. Still, nice save by the staff: when our drinks had been forgotten (the place is mostly a bar, after all, so seemed odd that the food would arrive first), the server offered an apology and a free food item (we opted for the chocolate custard -- tres delish!), and a manager-type almost instantly appeared with the drinks (well worth the wait). Very generous response for something that wasn't a big deal. We'll continue to come here even without being bribed 😁, but better if they staff up to avoid these pitfalls in the first place.
Their food is SO good. Creative without being at all pretentious. It can get a bit noisy, but worth it for the wonderful eats.
I really want to like this place -I’m a huge oakland supporter (since I live and work here), the space is great, interesting crowd. But we had to wait a really long time to get anything to eat or drink. We waited at least 1/2 hour for a glass of wine and about an hour for dinner. And it was not that crowded. Food was ok to above average. I would go back again to sit at the bar and have a drink.
We were with a party of 4. Reservations were 5:45pm. We arrived late 6:00 pm. Three meals served a bit late. Last meal served at 7:30pm
Really interesting drink menu and the food was nice too!
We had the Caprese cocktail and almost died and went to heaven! We are cocktail connoisseurs and this by far is top 5. Plum is a GEM and our favorite place to grab phenomenal drinks and snacks! Music is great, decor is warm and inviting, candle light everywhere. Love it here!
the food was awful (hard, cold fries, oily grilled cheese, too much cheese omg! soggy broccoli in a hot, flavorless sauce) - but a glass of bubbles, low lighting, good music, sweet. just don't eat the food.
It took 20 minutes to get drinks after we ordered (and enquired several times) while the place was practically empty at 6pm on Saturday night. second round of drinks took just as long as the place was filling up and there were extra bartenders. luckily we were not in a hurry - otherwise would have walked out. no excuse - really bad bar service. drinks were small and expensive on top of bad service. menu very limited food was ok, server was sweet but inefficient (perhaps not her fault). will never return.
My mother and I had dinner here before heading to the Oakland Ballet show. The service was fast. She loved the salad with chicken and I really enjoyed my pre-show cocktail. This place is now my go to for pre-show dining. The food is great and the ambiance helps set the tone for a lovely evening.
We ordered at 6:30. By 7 PM we were asking someone who was not our waitress to please fetch our waitress. She arrived, said "I'll put a rush on your order." A rush? That seemed absurd after a half-hour, but great, thanks. She said "I feel your pain right now." Literally, she said that. She brought us some olives. 7:25 food arrived and we shoveled it in in order to get to our show. No conversation with my friend at that point, pure shoveling. Not how I like to enjoy a dinner out. Wedge salad was fine, far as I could tell in such a hurry, friend told me his grilled cheese sandwich was soggy. On our way out waitress said "Be well."
Terrific drinks, great food, attentive service
Husband’s 70th birthday before seeing Chris Rock at Paramount. Drinks were the best! Food was very good! Could have stayed there all night! We will return.
We had dinner here before a show at the Paramount. The menu is simple bar food and everything was good. The service was slow, so I'd leave plenty of time if you're seeing a show.
The drinks are wonderful, and they have lots of varieties of cocktails, all of which have been great. The food, on the other hand, has been hit or miss. The tofu bowl didn't have much flavor and the sauce tasted more like mayonnaise than coconut. I had the wedge salad which was quite good. My friend had the fRied chicken wings, which were crispy and delicious but the spicy broccoli wasn't very good. It was spicy but not very flavorful. Compared with other restaurants in the area, I don't think the food is as good.
Decent place to catch a bite before performance at either Fox or Paramount. Close. A little noisy if you are trying to actually talk.
Despite a 5:30 reservation and the fact that we got our table when the restaurant was almost empty, the staff soon got slammed. I got my food before my date, there was an error in the order, and we had to flag people to order a second drink and to eventually get our check. Wasn't very smooth...
Thanks for the reserved seat, delicious Pino Noir & chicken salad. I'll be back!!
Came here after not finding any places serving Vegan options around Jack London Square. So happy to find this little gem. Had the Spicy Tofu bowl and it was out of this world. The ambiance was stellar. Will definitely be back!
Some of the best service I've ever had!! Food and drinks were delicious too. I can't believe it took me this long to come here.
Great vibe, aesthetic, tasty food, creative (and delicious) cocktails and wonderful service. A fun Friday night date spot that we will return to!
Great little spot for after work drinks and appetizers.
Our bartender was great. She was very attentive but not over bearing and wasfriendly. She poured nice drinks and had good suggestions for the menu.
