Great experience. Re-amped Marriot! Food was delicious and the staff is amazing. Many restraunts will look to them for advise I'm sure. Enjoyed our visit. Chef is incredible. Lighting is perfect.
Sunday brunch. Food taste was fine. Description of food needs some improvement. No winter squash with frittata/ no taste even if purée. Misleading. Side of roasted butternut squash.
Milk French toast tastes delicious but way too much. Take one piece , cut into 4 pieces, arrange artistically and top with jam etc. Add side of fruit salad or ....
Bar area was loud which spilled into the dining area. Service was very good. Food was delicious, small portions noted for the price. Aesthetically very pleasing food presentation. Might try again at some point...
We really enjoyed Plough. The food was great. We enjoyed/shared 4 small plates at a leisurely pace. Our server was very kind and shared much info with us about the restaurant-- which attempts to source all or nearly all-- of their ingredients locally (obviously not seafood). They change their menu very often as available food changes. Our sever noted they'd re-written the menu 12 times in their 2 months open. As a result, they don't have specials. The interior is beautiful. Even when it got full it was not loud. The goat cheese dumplings-- fabulous. The farmer cheese melt with bread.... oh my goodness!
Our only minor complaint.... we got cocktails. They were good. We did not get their specialty cocktails but more 'run of the mill' items like a dry up manhattan and a gin martini. From round one to two there was considerable pour difference. We mentioned it since it seemed we got about half a cocktail on the second round on the manhattan. They did make it right by bringing us an extra on the house-- basically another half cocktail.... so it worked out.... but I could see the host (from our table) was really having to have a serious convo with one of the bartenders to get it. But really... when the glass is less than half full.... that's weird. Hopefully they will sort out these small kinks over time.
We will definitely go back. Added bonus, since they are at the Marriott they are open on Mondays... when many places are not!
First time at the newly refurbished restaurant. Will definitely return.
I thought food choices were not good. Did not think food you got was worth price. I don't think it was fresh local either. One drink that was top of menu was out on 6PM on Sat night!
We waited over an hour for our food to come once we ordered. Our waitress Kathy was very nice and apologized several times for our food taking so long. The food was very good and the drinks were top notch.
This was our 2nd time at Plough. It’s everything you would expect from a Marriott. Great food, attentive service and good location on the square. The wine list could use some work with more Cali wines and hot food on hot plates. We had a great time and will be back again.
Expected much more after being closed for renovations. Very disappointed.
Our first time there and it was incredible. Server didn’t push our time along at all which allowed great conversation. The meal was excellent and rightly priced. We will be back for sure.
Food was good, but service was spotty (albeit cheerful). We got our appetizers quickly and enjoyed them, but then waited quite a while for entrees. During that time, there was no offer of drink refills or even additional water. Overall, I got the impression of inexperience or lack of training. But I will say that the wine and beer list were pretty good, and the food was generous and tasty. We will likely give the Plough another try in a bit and see if the overall experience improves.
We had an informal business meeting at one of the booths. Everything was perfect from the food to the total atmosphere. Thank you!!! We will all be back!
Food was outstanding and our server was fabulous. Highly recommend
Atmosphere was fantastic...our server didn't go into detail on the menu. We were able to listen to the adjacent server. The food presentation was very nice. The Diver's Scallops looked good, but was mediocre. They lacked flavor and the dish came out not very warm. For the price of our meal I was expecting a little better staff and food quality. The cheese and toasted bread appetizer was delicious. The short rib was good, a little smaller than i was expecting, but was tasty.
The scallops and short ribs were excellent.
Although the food did take a while to come out it was very good and hot when it arrived.
Solid addition to Lancaster restaurant scene. Food was very good. Service was attentive (if not a little overly so?) Will definitely be back.
Good food.....enjoyed the pasta with lobster. Husband had the pork chop which was also very good. Great service.
Food is good but expensive - for lunch. Server was pleasant but not well informed and unable to describe or comment on various menu items. Also, service was slow - and I never did get the coffee refill I asked for.
No small dinner salad available on the menu or side vegetables. Also the dinner entrees were not served with any vegetables or bread. Both of those items are SO CHEAP (especially in Lancaster) and easy to provide that it is a mistake to cut corners on these inexpensive items. Who doesn't LOVE a restaurant that serves GREAT bread? And entrees always look better with a few colorful steamed veggies on the plate.
The entrees were not cheap, which we don't mind and were tasty, but were not hot when served and it was early and they were not busy. My husband asked for medium rare and it was served medium (not at all pink).
Not sure we will go back or recommend it to our friends at this point. We might inquire from others in about 6 months to see if it improves after they have been open for a while.
Hope they step it up because it is a lovely restaurant in a good location.
Food was amazing! Delicious and fresh and the server was always able to give us recommendations. I can’t stop thinking about the scallops.
Really appreciated our waitress (forget her name) educating us on the menu and guiding our experience!
Great food and atmosphere. Cannot wait to come in again!
New place for foodies in LNC. Really hoping the hotel is committed to keeping up the quality long term. Currently it is very very good. Local farm to table, inventive cuisine, excellent flavors. Service is getting better... Place has a nice feel. If it stays this way, we’ll be back over and over!
First time trying Plough for lunch after a lovely dinner several weeks ago. The food was tasty, though the chicken salad was a bit salty. Whatever you do, order the french fries because they were AMAZING! Will definitely try it again for lunch.
Out to dinner for a birthday. Restaurant was empty likely because it was Labor Day. That may have enhanced our experience. It was quiet, our service was quick and personal and the food was excellent. The appetizers were very flavorful, we had the beans and burrata and the goat cheese dumplings. Recommend both. For the entrees we had the seafood pasta, the pork (very moist) and the red snapper curry. All good choices. The entrees are not large but that left room for desserts which were also very good. Particularly surprised by the delicious olive oil cake! This is a new restaurant - give it a chance. And love that it is open on Mondays when so many are not.
Good but limited menu.
It was Sunday and being new , they did not have their brunch menu ready yet. A bit Disappointing but the food was very tasty
We were there the 3rd week it was open and there were definitely some service issues. Over all food was great, my spaghetti could have been a little hotter but my 13 year old son loved the fries and hamburger. Wine list was awesome
This was our second time at Plough and I can’t say enough about this place! The place looks amazing and Chef Ryan’s meals are fantastic! i live in the city and I go to many of the restaurants every week and while I wouldn’t eat here every day, it is certainly going to be my go to place when we have guests in town!
While the overall experience was very good and the food was wonderful, the bartender could not make a vodka martini properly. We sent it back only to be served a new one that still was not right. That was disappointing!
We enjoyed our visit. However, the menu was limited and service was average. I did not realize that the restaurant was not fully operational yet. With time, this should be a great option.
I have already referred people to Plough after my first dining experience. I had a business lunch there on August 28th. It was a perfect location and atmosphere. Very comfortable and the food was amazing!
Food and atmosphere was great. Surprised to be seated in the bar with a dinner reservation. That was OK, but the seats in the bar are unusually tiny. The food was delicious. Portions were small. Was hungry soon after leaving.
Terrible food and terrible service. Would not recommend!!! Zero stars!
It is early times— Plough hasn’t been open long, but I fear this too is yet another case of the emperor’s new clothes. The place was PACKED— all stylish and soignee— but the food was nothing terribly spectacular. Menu items are highly overpriced— without the inventiveness and creativity, and frankly quality to warrant the investment. A cauliflower appetizer was $11. It consisted of maybe— and here I mean MAYBE an 8th (not being facetious; I’m being literal here) of a head of cauliflower on a bed of lentils $11. A steak frites— not a New York strip— $28 (the cut was a hangar steak); the rib eye was $50. I paid $50 for a steak at Peter Luger’s— traveled to Brooklyn and made sure to hit the cash machine on the way— and all that effort was worth it, but sadly I couldn’t see myself making such an effort to eat at Plough again.
Our server was was very good. I liked him a lot. The renovations are great and the restaurant and bar section are beautifully finished. Unfortunately the food was not great. I ordered the lobster pasta. The pasta and the sauce were done very nicely, but the lobster was pretty much unpalatable. It was over cooked and was too fishy. I feel bad because I told our server it was good when it wasn't, and I should have been more honest, but I'm just not a confrontational person. But it really wasn't good. I want Plough to succeed, but they'll have to pay closer attention to their seafood if they want to compete with Barbaret, Amorette and Citronelle. Otherwise, people will choose those restaurants since the prices are comparable and the quality better. Hope this helps them in the future.
Remodel is nice. Very nice atmosphere. Cool bar.
Server was friendly but not knowledgeable of the menu offering.
Menu is very limited.
This was one of the best meals I’ve had in Lancaster, everyone absolutely enjoyed their dishes. The food was delicious, everything was made with fresh, in-season fruits and vegetables. My only issue was the air conditioning, it was too low and everyone was shivering throughout our dinner.
I would recommend this place to anyone and everyone, it’s wonderful!
I think it is way over priced . I would have ordered the ribeye steak but 47.00 is to expensive. I usually get filet mignon steak but it is not offered. I usually get that for 35.00. We got burger and fries. They were good but I like it just as well other places for less money. I got the chocolate cake for dessert. It was sort of plain, like a few strawberries or mousse could be added for a sweet flavor.
Amazing service! Loved the new space, and while the food/drinks were a bit pricey, they were completely worth it. We shared an entree and small plate: rotisserie 1/2 chicken and black bass ceviche. Pink Dove and Bring Us a Shrubbery for cocktails...INCREDIBLE! And our server was just lovely. So attentive without being overbearing; informative considering the “newness” of the restaurant; and funny and just enjoyable.
I would recommend checking out Plough!
We enjoyed the experience over all. Food was excellent! Service was ok, but I think it will be better once they work out the kinks. I thought it was strange that they charged me extra for salad greens in place of fries, especially since it was about 3 lettuce leaves. I didn’t say anything when they told me, because I didn’t want to argue over a couple of bucks, but I don’t think the extra charge was necessary for what I got.
