Plaza III Steakhouse
Easter dinner. Very warm welcome. Well versed wine manager. Attentive waiter. Food was good as always.
It was Easter Sunday morning. Overall, a good experience. However, the young hostess was unwelcoming and rude. Kind of set the tone for the rest of my dining experience. Front desk was not busy. One woman ahead of me. She waited for her husband to come in to be seated. I'm standing at the desk. Was not acknowledged. Conversation between the younger woman and another hostess ensued. Stood there a couple of minutes wanting to check in. Finally stepped back. I thought I was possibly intruding. The woman and her husband are seated. Still no recognition. Another party comes in. Once again I go to check in. Her head is down but I speak my name and she finally acknowledged my presence. I'm probably being too full of myself. This will not keep me from coming back. I was a hosted a for 17 years at Plaza III and was trained by Joe Gilbert. He insisted all of the guests be made to feel important. Now I know why.
Had a great time at the Easter buffet. Food was very good but selection a bit limited for what I am use to. However, this location does not usually do a Sunday buffet brunch so for a one time event I say they did a great job.
The restaurant was understaffed.. food was good.. service was not... Not because of the server .. I have to say you are not quite ready for prime time.... for the price I would have expected a table cloth... we will try one more time!
The food was excellent and our server was very nice. We were in no hurry but even still, the food came out very slow. The table was not cleared of used dishes and our beverages were largely unattended. Business was slow so that was not the reason. There’s a fine line between hassling customers with too much attention and being slow. It may be an issue of policy or training philosophy. The speed of service needs some review. Thank you, though! Our family enjoyed our early Easter brunch at Plaza III.
Good food. Initially, the service was a bit slow when we sat down but it all worked itself out and had a nice dinner. Will go back for sure.
Had the filet and lobster. The lobster was undercooked but they immediately took it back to cook it more on the grille.
For a new restaurant location the decor looked 20 years old not current.
The steaks and lamb chops were excellent. The general manager came by and was great; Anna (our server) was more than outstanding! The only real short fall was with the wine sommelier. We brought on a couple of bottles of wine that were not on their wine list. The wines we brought had real sentimental meaning to the person’s birthday we were celebrating. The sommelier hardly spoke, did not listen and had very dark demeanor about him. Maybe an off night, who knows? Overall we really enjoyed the food, the service and fun sans the wine sommelier.
The prime rib was excellent! The service side needs a lot of work. Everything we ordered, we needed to follow-up to get our drinks & food. Sent back 2 items since they weren't hot when came to the table. If you have plenty of time getting your meal, try it out!
We have been to Plaza III many times and have generally been disappointed in food and the service. The new Metcalf location is great, nice inside but feel they lack in consistency. Saturday
Night’s meal was good and Tony gave us excellent service. Value for price may be a drawback for a lot of people.
The food was good. The service was slow. It took nearly an hour to get lunch: salad\soup and my guest got soup and sandwich. I had to get up twice from our table to ask the hostess for our waiter. (The waiter was very nice ) It was not even busy. Very disappointed in the service!
Excellent food and service. Server was very friendly and helpful, but the food took a long time in preparation. Overall a little pricey.
First time at the new location. The food and service was just as good as ever. The new location is bigger, but if I’m going to spend that kind of money on a dinner out, I expect to have a comfortable accommodation with at least some sense of privacy. This location offers none of that...a large dining room with 4 people stuffed into a smaller than average booth....all of the seating is these under-sized booths.
The first steak they brought me was full of gristle and I couldn’t even cut it. I sent it back and they replaced it right away with a much better steak. They were very apologetic and were very understanding. I would go back.
Our food was wonderful as always. Unfortunately, service was not the best or what we are use to at P3.
Terrible steaks for the money. For a steakhouse they need to revisit who they get their meat from. Wow such a disappointment. Embarrassed during a business dinner
Our experience was very delightful and delicious! We met the Manager "Manny", and our waiter provided excellent service as well. The food was very much worth the wait!
There was individual privacy, but the area was open and you could carry on a conversation without yelling .
We thought it was fairly average. Was there for breakfast but the menu items were not creative at all - could have gotten them almost anywhere.
Service started out great and then waiting for entrée it slowed to a crawl. They brought us the soufflé before our meal because it was done and they did not know that our entrée was not out. This threw them off so much that they finally brought my daughter the soufflé but did not offer my wife or I dessert. It was all just timing and screwed up service. The food, ambiance, etc. was good.
Our first time to dine at the new location in Overland Park. This visit beat all of our expectations. A wonderful evening and the food was outstanding. The dining room and bar area are both well appointed, spacious and inviting. We shall return!
Rainbow trout was tasteless and had too much butter even with asking for the sauce on the side. Side dishes were greasy, salads had way too much dressing.
We feel the overall experience was quite unsatisfactory. The portions were extremely skimpy for the price they charged, the presentation was poor, and it certainly did not live up to the reputation that this restaurant has when on the Plaza in KC. I suggest they change their name.
So excited Plaza III moved out south. Great food and top notch service. Highly recommend for large events and happy hour!
Excellent food and service.
Great place for an evening dinner, good food, atmosphere, and service. On the upper price range, but worth it.
It was lovely. There were 5 woman, 4 were celebrating birthdays And they comped 4 desserts. The service and food did not disappoint. The only thing I would say is that sadly we were one of 2 parties there, but it was 2:00, but there were long lags in service. Our server couldn’t have been more accommodating when he did come by.
We enjoyed a lovely brunch with our Daughter and her family this past Sunday. We all liked our food, and we are making plans to return in the very near future. The service that we received was also outstanding. The young lady that took care of us really helped to make our dining experience a special event.
Excellent food. Eddie was a great server! Will certainly return.
This was our first time to Plaza III in its new location in southern Overland Park. Our steaks were delicious and the service was as great as ever. I highly recommend you check it out.
Excellent service and atmosphere. But very pricey
Though 1/2 full, service was slow and inattentive. Food portion (twin medallions) very small for the price. Steaks were cooked to order. Will not return.
Too expensive. The filet migno on a big plate with nothing else looked silly.
We had a lovely time at Plaza lll. We visited on a Friday night and had wonderful food and wonderful service. I love their menu. So many choices and wonderful options. Our steaks were fabulous and the lobster was juicy and delicious. So many restaurants over cook fish. We judge a lot of places based on their Martinis and Plaza lll nailed this one. Our server’s name was Marcus and he was the hi light of the eve. He only works the weekends and he is very good at what he does. Made our evening that much more enjoyable. I am not particularly fond of alacarte restaurants but this one might just be worth it.
Appetizer missing half the oyster. Second tray replaced the first but missing horseradish. Caesar salad had soggy croutons and lettuce. Replaced salad with more wilted lettuce but no croutons. Ordered ipa beer. Second one arrived that was clearly not ipa. Was pffered crabcakes on steak oscar. It arrived with loose crabmeat in bernaise. Tasted okay just not what was told. Bernaise sauce appeared with husbands steak. Wasnt ordered ehich was good as it was cold. 175.00 bill. Bummed out. We had high hopes.
Had never been to Plaza III for breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Both food and service as good as dinner. My guest wanted an omelet that wasn't a menu item and was accommodated without any problem at all. Nice and quiet for conversation and definitely not rushed. Couldn't be happier.
As you would expect with the Plaza III, the food and service was fantastic, but I’d also like to say that the new location out south is fantastic. Glad to have you out here.
Anniversary dinner- every thing was excellent!
Nice, varied menu at reasonable prices. Our out of town guests enjoyed the experience.
My first time in the new restaurant. Very nice.
