Grilled Mahi Mahi
grilled to a perfect medium-rare, roasted asparagus, creamy béarnaise sauce
Great experience! Server was awesome! Food delicious
Excellent meal and very accommodating service. Ambiance is good; casual but a few steps above the tacky beach bars. Has become one of our 'go-to' places because of its consistency and the ability to make reservations on line. The latter is not to be underestimated in Orange Beach; especially on weekends.
First time visiting since owners changed and rebranded. Was delicious ! We will definitely return. The Shrimp&Grits Entree can feed 3 adults. My husband loved his Grilled Mahi Mahi as well. The interior is beautiful with clean lines and very well designed.
Delicious, quiet restaurant away from touristy attractions.
Great service and amazing food!
Our party of four was quickly seated and the server was very prompt. The ambience and food was exceptional. I recommend Playa Restaurant for special dining or just a casual cocktail. You can’t beat the view.
Outstanding service and food
Outstanding restaurant! Can’t beat the cocktails. We had the Blue Eyed Ging, endless summer and a few others with friends and every single one was very exciting and delicious.
The tuna bowl was excellent as was the filet.
Ambiance is nice. Service was pleasant but not outstanding and the food was okay but not bad.. I expected better for $30 entrees.
Took 1 hour 15 min to get a burger and shrimp. We were served ketchup 30 min before the meal arrived. Watched everyone around us receive food and no one said anything…No apologies or follow up.
Nice clean rest. So disappointed in the food for the price. Margarita was mediocre, steaks were not good cut of meat and tasted bland. The potatoes were awful. The food was awful to me.
Unfortunately our experience was not as good as it has always been. We’ve loved dining at Playa for years but this time was a disappointment. The service was average. The bartenders weren’t friendly and did not seem to want to want to be there.
But on another note, you can’t go wrong with Fisher’s!
View and seating were amazing! We loved looking out over the water and loved the large round tables. Food was okay (overcooked). Service was the best that it could be considering staffing shortages. Menu could be improved with an increase in selection or differentiation between items.
Our family of six had a great meal. Look forward to returning soon.
Nothing spectacular. Food was ok
good food, good service
Enjoyed outdoor seating, beautiful view of the bay. I enjoyed redfish, fresh cooked to perfection, wife had shrimp& grits and she was pleased.
The atmosphere was spectacular! Restaurant overlooks the marina - just beautiful. Our food was top not.
Appetizers-coconut shrimp & crab toast.
Entree- redfish on the half shell & gulf shrimp & grits!
Can’t say enough about how delicious the food was.
Ask for Mark when dining at Playa-he was very friendly and helpful in helping us make selections
Food & service was great. Perfect evening!
The place was beautiful but the food was not as good as we expected. Coconut fish was overcooked. Expensive for what we ate.
Excellent service! Food is outstanding. Highly recommend the crab avocado toast, tuna Poke and the fried oysters!
We enjoyed the appetizers the most. My husband had the fish special which he loved. My steak was adequate.
Love the atmosphere and the location!
Food was delicious and view is beautiful. Cocktails were excellent too.
Delicious food very tasty. Waitress was fabulous. We have reservations again tomorrow night
Great service until server was sat with a large party that took a lot of her time. Food was served after it had been sitting in window for extended amount of time given plate was so hot you couldn’t touch it. But the adult beverages were spot on and the cheese dip my husband really enjoyed his meal which was the special for that day my chicken bowel was just standard. All and all though worth a visit the view drinks and apps well worth it !
We ate upstairs and it was loud due to large parties, but there was a nice view. I like downstairs outside better if you have a choice.
The shrimp and grits was excellent but the fish was a little dry and one dimensional.
I would go back and sit downstairs. Overall a 4/5
Great service and delicious food on a busy night!!!
Great experience for my best friends Bachelorette Party! Lou was our server and was very great and attentive
Made reservations but when arrived was told outdoor reservations were separate. Inside ambiance not great. My fish was dry but my husbands steak was perfect. Server was very good even though she was very busy.
I hate to leave a not great review in these times. I know businesses are struggling and understaffed. But if you were looking for a good food I cannot recommend this restaurant. We were going just to have a few snacks from the happy hour menu before going to another event. They no longer have the happy hour menu which is fine. My husband ordered the poke tuna. He said it was OK. But it came with a basket of tortilla chips that were ridiculously greasy. They were literally dripping with oil. I got fried pickles for the table that were pretty good and actually not very greasy. I also got fried cheese curds. They were pretty flavorless and teeny tiny. Like the size of a pencil eraser. You could not pick at these in a dainty way. I also got a side order of avocado and tomato and basil salad. What this was was more of a pesto sauce made with avocado basil and a ton Of oil. It was poured over have cherry tomatoes. The tomatoes were too large to eat and one bite. When I cut them with a knife all the seeds and juices gloved out into the oily avocado mixture put over them. It was pretty gross. I tried eating with my husband’s chips but it was all too oily to handle. I had a cocktail. It was very good. Not so much with the food
We enjoyed our dinner at Playa. Loved that we were able to make a reservation and be seated as soon as we arrived. Decor was light and modern with beautiful views of the water, service was friendly and prompt, and food was delicious! Highly recommend.
Delicious food, great service! I will be back! Beautifully decorated, beach feel.
Great service. Wonderful food. Beautiful ambience. Would highly recommend.
The food was fine, nothing overall special. The service was very sad... forgot to bring drinks, forgot some people’s food, mixed up orders and very slow. I had high hopes but was disappointed.
Ribeye was extremely disappointing otherwise everything else was A+
The Playa Burger is in my top 5 best burgers ever. Who knew that grilled pineapple on a hamburger would be so incredible!
Great place to dine!
I had great expectations given this restaurant is run by the same folks as Fishers but sadly I was disappointed. Hoped for top level but it was only average
