Food was outstanding as always. Our server Shelby was outstanding too. Very attentive to our every need!
Our food was delicious. The pork chop amazing!! Our waiter, John, was the best. Very attentive and friendly. We enjoyed everything about our experience. The manager came by and talked with us a minute to check on us. Go, you won’t be disappointed.
The food is pretty good and the seating has a nice view. They must be short in help because the service needed improvement. It might have been nice for someone to even ask about our experience but it didn’t seem like anyone cared.
Wonderful service and food. It's our second year to go for thanksgiving dinner
Had a solo dining experience for Thanksgiving late seating at the bar. A bit expensive for the overall as dinner for one set me back $80. Food was delish although I see some improvements needed for the Playa salad. The $30 Thanksgiving plate had plenty to eat on it with all the staples. Turkey was outstanding and collards were as well. Sweet potato bread pudding was a hit and enough for at least two. No bread items served which I thought odd. Not that I needed it. I am a regular here and will certainly return.
Had never tried fried oysters before…delicious! Wonderful tuna poke bowl! Beautiful setting
Excellent crap toast app…. Redfish was excellent and a unique presentation. Shrimp and grits were as good as it gets. Server was awesome (Shelby)
Service was slow based on only seated customers. Waitress stated “our drinks were coming”....filling “ to go order”. Fearfully appetizers would be served with meals but did come before.
I first have to say that Valerie and Kelsey were the best servers! They were attentive and friendly. So, they quickly realized we were having a great time and joined in with comments and added to our experience. We will request these ladies anytime we go to Playa. The food came out hot and quick. We ordered the fried pickles and we are experts in fried pickles and these were tops! We loved our experience and the food.
We also very happy that Playa is using Ghost Train Vodka!
Tell Valerie and Kelsey and the chefs -Thanks!
We love going to Playa. Jack was great. The food was great. The view is amazing. It's always our goto for brunch.
Excellent Swordfish and Redfish. Appetizers excellent also. Bar and wait staff friendly and went above and beyond in effort. Manager checked on us to verify quality. Will be back again.
We went for steak night. The food was excellent and so was our server Shelby!
Please do not get rid of your potatoes they are so good.
Food was great, service was friendly and atmosphere was outstanding. Incredible view and great vibes. Hidden gem. Try the crab avocado toast- yum! Will definitely return.
Excellent all around! Will definitely return. Beautiful restaurant with original art, on the water, great food and service.
We love Playa. Always has pleasing food and service!
Service and food was outstanding! We went on Steak night and the filet mignon with as so good.
We first visited here in May 2019, not too long after they had opened. We had a bad experience then but thought "If they can improve a few things" this place could really take off. Well, sad to say that we gave them that time and they failed to deliver. We STRONGLY recommend you avoid this restaurant.
First, while simple, their OpenTable menu does not reflect what they actual serve. It says "Main Menu" but has things that are only included on the Lunch Menu. When you show up for Dinner, none of those are on the menu. Even more, they continually describe themselves as having "Tacos" and more Mexican food. The evening menu has NOTHING to do with that, with not a single taco available.
The food came out mostly cold. There were a few things that were warm, but the kitchen really missed the timing of food. Putting our fish on cold grits wasn't expected.
In addition, we felt rushed. From time we sat to when left was 47 minutes. No where in the Gulf has had that short period. We usually have time for a drink, an app, and entree. Like before, we felt though we had to sit and get out right away. There was no time to actually enjoy the space.
While the servers were nice and thoughtful, they lacked a deeper understanding of how to be exceptional and need more training in their role.
In the end, we decided while we wanted to give this place a second shot, the second shot will be the ABSOLUTE LAST. We won't be back here ever again. They had a chance to improve but didn't. We want more from the owner of this place but again are let down. Maybe someone else will take over this space and provide quality service and food.
As locals, we love this restaurant! Great food and great service every time. It’s one of our favorites!
Had to wait 20 min past reservation time. If I had no t inquired then it would have been longer.
Ordered immediately when seated then took 45 min to get food. My med well steak was rare
another local came in to place to go order and was told they weren’t taking any to go orders
Great filet steak special on Thursday nights. Give it a try
Disappointed in new menu; not nearly as many different options now. And burger special for burger night was a bust. Good service however!
Guac was delish, shrimps and grits the bomb!
Great experience! Server was awesome! Food delicious
The service and food we received at Playa were superb.
Excellent meal and very accommodating service. Ambiance is good; casual but a few steps above the tacky beach bars. Has become one of our 'go-to' places because of its consistency and the ability to make reservations on line. The latter is not to be underestimated in Orange Beach; especially on weekends.
First time visiting since owners changed and rebranded. Was delicious ! We will definitely return. The Shrimp&Grits Entree can feed 3 adults. My husband loved his Grilled Mahi Mahi as well. The interior is beautiful with clean lines and very well designed.
Delicious, quiet restaurant away from touristy attractions.
Went here for homecoming with a group. Good food and ambience.
Great service and amazing food!
Our party of four was quickly seated and the server was very prompt. The ambience and food was exceptional. I recommend Playa Restaurant for special dining or just a casual cocktail. You can’t beat the view.
Outstanding service and food
Outstanding restaurant! Can’t beat the cocktails. We had the Blue Eyed Ging, endless summer and a few others with friends and every single one was very exciting and delicious.
The tuna bowl was excellent as was the filet.
Ambiance is nice. Service was pleasant but not outstanding and the food was okay but not bad.. I expected better for $30 entrees.
Took 1 hour 15 min to get a burger and shrimp. We were served ketchup 30 min before the meal arrived. Watched everyone around us receive food and no one said anything…No apologies or follow up.
Nice clean rest. So disappointed in the food for the price. Margarita was mediocre, steaks were not good cut of meat and tasted bland. The potatoes were awful. The food was awful to me.
Unfortunately our experience was not as good as it has always been. We’ve loved dining at Playa for years but this time was a disappointment. The service was average. The bartenders weren’t friendly and did not seem to want to want to be there.
But on another note, you can’t go wrong with Fisher’s!
